Reviews From Real Travelers
The property is very special and is kept in a very nice condition for guests to enjoy. The room was comfortable; there was slightly too much furniture for the size but we moved a chair or two around to make it work for us. The toilet and bathroom were on opposite sides of the room, which was mildly inconvenient, but we appreciate this feature was in the room description at the time of booking. The staff were very friendly and professional - maybe if they were just marginally more reactive it would be perfect service.

This was a wonderful place to stay. A beautiful local and convenient (by rental car) to many chateaux and the city of Tours. It really felt like what I’d hoped a Loire Valley experience should be. The entire staff was courteous to a fault and all spoke English well. Don’t leave without having dinner in the restaurant gastronomique. The tasting menu may be too much for many diners but everything we had was wonderful and the service was impeccable.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We stayed in Arpentis because we wanted the unique experience of staying in a real chateau while in Loire Valley. The chateau itself had evidence of neglect (stained rugs in the hallway, missing tiles in the ceiling) and was somewhat run down but the grounds were lovely. It had an ample supply of taxidermied specimens. The proprietor barely engaged with us but he was pleasant enough when he did. He basically gave us the key to our room and we were on our own. Our room was comfortable enough with a view of the chateau grounds. Breakfast was basic and not worth the cost in my opinion (baguette, pastry, and store bought yogurt along with coffee and juice), we only had it once. A communal kitchenette with a toaster oven and refrigerator was available but it wasn’t very well appointed (no napkins or towels/dish rack to dry your dishes, for instance). Guests also had access to a washer/dryer which we appreciated. Since there were no meals available at the chateau other than breakfast, we drove to the nearby town of Amboise about 10 minutes away at night which was inconvenient because parking there was hard to find. We brought baguette, cheese and wine on our last night and picnicked on the grounds. WiFi was weak and unreliable which made it difficult to purchase our tickets for Chambord, Chenonceau, and Villandry. Overall, Arpentis was a unique experience but it was expensive for what it offered and was not the most comfortable or convenient stay.

I lived in a 48-hour trip to the Loire River, a noble royal castle in 1313. The previous owners include the duke, the relatives of the king, the relatives of the queen, and so on. Suzanne, the last owner, was not the royal family. It can be seen that the owner of the castle is a multi-family male who loves hunting, and various animal specimens are distributed in every corner. The entire castle is completely protected and tidy. Walking in every corner has the feeling of exploring the secrets. The climate is similar to that of northern China. The first light rain in a few days is a bit reluctant to leave. 🌧️ The breakfast is simple, but we all like it. The private castle has a small number of service staff, which is normal, but it is warm and polite, and will clean up the room every day. Super experience

Stayed for three nights and was very satisfied. The location is good, quiet, within walking distance of the town center and the castle. The room is very comfortable. The parking lot was in the yard. I couldn't get in. The staff came out to help when they saw it. The breakfast is not very rich, but all the food is of high quality. It is recommended to order a dinner there. It is delicious and the service is excellent. The selected family room has a sofa bed that can be opened to sleep, which is very spacious

Hotel location is very good, go to the castle for five minutes. This hotel should be the old castle. Later it was changed into a hotel. There are elevators on two floors. The room is spacious, the service staff is very good, and the credit card deposit is not good. It can be seen that the people are simple and friendly.

Very beautiful castle 🏰 The heating is very good in winter. I arrived at the hotel at five o'clock in the evening and called at 11 o'clock in the afternoon to urge check-out. In the off-season, there were no guests and the front desk knew our check-in time, and the epidemic situation was almost self-checking at night without disturbing the front desk. I feel a bit unreasonable for urging to check out this way. Of course it’s not my own hotel and it’s true that I don’t have to be so careful. Other than that, all are great, hope to have a chance to come again 🙏

This château is beautiful. It is carved into a cliff and has a huge lawn and accompanying woods to explore. One walk in the woods dedicated to this hotel and you'll be transported to another time and place. In the late afternoon the light is dappled by the surrounding trees and casts a warm glow over the bridges, river, and meadows. The staff is professional and gracious. We ate 2 meals here, one dinner and one breakfast. They were both wonderful. The real standout was breakfast. Madamoiselle delivered goods that were fresh and either locally sourced or homemade. The jams and honey are divine, and both are made at the castle (bee hives located on site). During breakfast the owner stopped by to chat with us. He was an absolute delight. He is passionate about the chateau and the local faire. Be sure to chat with him on your stay!

Mixed bag. The grounds are beautiful, lush lawn, woods and flowers. Breakfast was delicious. People were quite nice and the common rooms were lovely and attached to caves. However, while our suite had large windows and a glorious view, it also had very dated furnishings (not in a charming way), with a stained old lamp shade and yellow wall to wall carpet that was just awful. One reason we booked the hotel was that we could dine onsite, but when we arrived we were told they no longer had a chef. The first night we appeared to be alone in the entire place, the door is kept unlocked and lights are mostly off. We were relieved when we noticed there was one other car. With some love and attention to details, the hotel could be wonderful.

I gave the hotel 4.8 points. The location is really close to the castle. It takes about ten minutes to walk. The hotel should be remodeled from an old house. The external environment is beautiful, the interior is clean and tidy, and the interior decoration is simple, but the taste is very good. This kind of place is still convenient to drive, the restaurant's dishes are really very particular, we ordered the two-person package, the boss recommended dry white wine, and the dishes are very good.

There is free parking, the sofa can be used as an extra bed, the location is very good, and it takes only a few minutes to walk to Sheung Bund. The town is quiet and there is no place to eat breakfast. The dinner was good, the lamb was delicious, and they felt their care for the restaurant! Selling and producing are good! The hotel should be operated by the way, the main business is to operate the restaurant.
