"We stayed at Plas Dinas after reading the reviews on here and having stayed 2 night I felt disappointed with our experience. Arriving at 17:45 we had a quick check in and everything explained with the rules of the house with Covid around it didn’t spoil our time there. Dinner that evening in the restaurant was out of this world yes it was £48pp but well worth every penny and the staff excellent. We stayed in the Judge’s room which was the only room left to book at the time. This is why I have given it a 3 rating. The bathroom is so small I couldn’t even dry myself in it I had to go into the main bedroom. The radiator in the bathroom was coming off the wall, the tap on the sink was very loose and the shelf in the shower room was all rusty. The chandelier had big cobwebs and had not been cleaned for a while. Getting into bed my wife noticed that the duvet had marks on but at 22:30 we just turned it over and left it. At 07:00 I was woken up by strange noises coming from what sounded like a boiler filling up and heating water. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and a good selection of food. The second evening we went out for dinner and returned to the house all in darkness. On speaking to the owners we were informed of a power cut and were given a camping lantern to light up our room until the power returned at 23:30. The next morning was woken up again with strange noises. Breakfast was excellent. Overall the food and staff was excellent but the Judge’s room was disappointing. On check out I handed in my key with a form you fill out with all my findings and was expecting a apology, phone call or even a email for having no power most of the night and the dissatisfaction of my room stay but nothing I just hoped the next guests after us had all my recommendations fixed. Would I stay here again yes but not in the same room."
"From arrival to departure, it was faultless! We were greeted by Paula who gave us a short tour and explained where everything was and how everything works (so much nicer than simply being handed a key!) The rooms are exactly as they look in the photos and we were particularly wowed by all the history and memorabilia. We had no idea who owned Plas Dinas or that Princess Margaret had spent so much time there. We stayed on a DBB basis and the food was outstanding. The evening meal began with canapés in the lounge before moving into the Gun Room for the remaining six courses. Each course was delicious. The breakfast was also of high quality with a hot breakfast menu ranging from a full welsh breakfast to avocado, smoked salmon or porridge (in addition to a spread of self serve cold breakfast items). All in all, it was perfect from the location, setting, rooms, ambience, food and service. Paula, the receptionist/host played a huge part in making our stay so memorable. It started with such a warm and welcoming greeting and she continued with the same level throughout our stay through to departure. I can not recommend Plas Dinas enough and we will deifinitely return."
"We chose this hotel as we were looking for an elegant, peaceful, country house retreat for a much needed break. The website suggested that this would be the place. It turned out to be perfect! Better even than the high expectations we arrived with. The owners and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The house and grounds are beautifully and tastefully appointed; I loved the attention to detail. Everything had been thought of and in the room, the little touches made us feel very pampered, welcome and at home. In fact the whole ambience felt as if we had been invited to someone's home for a country weekend. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and the flavours expertly created. The little, unexpected, between course dishes added to the feeling that the guests were cherished. Afternoon tea was delicious and generous, as indeed was the breakfasts. Under the present Covid situation, I must add that we felt very safe, with all the measures the hotel had put in place. All in all an excellent, special experience. We intend to return for meals and another stay - but longer next time."

"Work had booked me into The Bull and to be honest I didn’t have a clue what to expect. The room was really nice and the bed was comfy. No issues with the wifi which was good thankfully as my phone signal vanished on entering the town. In the morning, went down for breakfast which was freshly cooked whilst I read the paper. I genuinely cannot find anything to knock about The Bull and when I visit the area again next month with work again and I have asked my work to book me back into this place because it was spot on. "
"This hotel is very special. The food is excellent, the decoration is excellent and the service is excellent. We stayed for a special birthday weekend and I would highly recommend, it definitely is a destination hotel."
"Had to book this the day before we went as we had to be in beaumaris urgently. Staff were great and the hotel is very comfortable. Locals in the bar were really friendly. If I have one gripe it's that they only served food in the bar at lunchtime and as we had a dog we would have liked to have had dinner in the bar where the do is very welcome, but you must have dinner in the restaurant, no dogs allowed. ok fine but not difficult to serve one course in the bar. Other than that great place and good beers, food ok."

"Stayed for 2N whilst on a road trip around the Welsh Coast. A return visit having stayed there in about 2012! I particularly remembered the food at Tyn Rhos as being very good and the quality is equally good as it was on my last visit. Dinner was great on both the nights I had it. The room I stayed in (7) could have done with a bit more surface space to put things down on (shelves maybe?). However, I came with lots of luggage so others might not find the same. Staff are friendly - the waiting staff at Breakfast and Dinner were all very pleasant and professional. Gardens are very nice also. Definitely recommended, and I have no doubt I will return again some day!"
"I've been with my family in this amazing country house in the middle of the nature and I can only say that I was in a very special place! I'm always travelling the world and it's not easy to feel home, well not this time, the lovely staff Sasha always nice and welcoming, Caryl and Cariie very gentle and always with a smile on their face, chefs Alad and Oliver with their team preapring every evening amazing and tasty dishes. The rooms are super clean cozy and and the mattress crazy comfortable. A place to be....... thanks to all of you guys for the unforgettabe stay."
"We have been frequent visitors of Tyn Rhos over the last 3 years. Accommodation and customer service is always to a high standard, the food and drink is just fantastic we’ve never had a complaint and always look forward to diner and breakfast. The staff are always very welcoming, friendly and professional. The way the hotel has handled the pandemic with restrictions that have been imposed is very good, it’s a very safe environment and will be looking forward to visiting again soon x"

"Just back from a 2 day break at The Bulkeley Hotel, We booked the Winter Warmer deal and I have to say it has been an absolute delight to stay here; We were in a cosy inland double; however there was plenty of room and all the amenities we needed from hairdryers to irons, our view wasnt the best but that didnt detract from the room. On the first night we dined in the Hansom's Restaurant and the food was delicious, well presented; and served by staff that actually looked like they wanted to be there, nothing was too much trouble, they were extremely polite and friendly. On the 2nd evening we chose to dine in The Bistro, there seemed to be a lot more choice of meals in there, again I cannot fault the food or the service. The staff working on the 2 days/nights we were there are a credit to the hotel (well done guys). Breakfast on both mornings was amazing, plenty of choice of hot and cold from cereal to croissants to the full hearty hot breakfast all of which was cooked to perfection and very tasty; I believe all locally sourced too. The reception staff were always happy and again nothing was too much trouble. We also whilst there had coffee and cake from the Coffee shop within the Hotel, again great service and lovely food. I really cannot praise enough the staff here; I will definitely return and recommend to others."
"Excellent hotel, very welcoming staff who are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious and the seaview rooms have the most amazing views across the Menai Straight to Snowdonia. The food served at the hotel is excellent and they have a great selection of wines, beers & spirits."
"Night away on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Hotel is clean, cosy, welcoming and characterful. Staff are friendly, food was excellent and room comfortable. Couldn’t fault it and fantastic value for money; very satisfied customers!!!"

"Due to our parents being extremely unwell, both my sister and I have had to stay at Premier Inn quite a lot in last 4 weeks. The first 5 day stay was excellent except for some kids trying to steal my sisters phone off the window sill *! Due to Covid legislation we had to have separate rooms, which we totally understand even though it cost us a small fortune. (One Saturday night cost over £240 for us both !!!) The second stay went well and we were now prepared to be in a Internet/telecommunications DEAD ZONE. Room was well prepared as usual. I then made the mistake of asking for a specific room AND got the room number wrong :( I ended up in a really noisy room with someone next to me who liked their TV LOUD . I went to reception and they kindly offered to talk to guests. In the end around midnight it stopped. I thought that all the noise had been coming from this neighbour ......I was wrong.....BIG FOOT ON STEROIDS was staying in room above me. It was too late (IMO) to worry reception (again) so I hoped the upstairs beast would go to sleep which they did around 2am. The next day I had to sort out my parents care and hospitalisation. My Dad is at end of life and Mum has dementia.....I totally forgot to tell reception until I got back around 9pm. I showed the receptionist footage of BIG FOOT (BF) and she said she’d move me. The noise stopped for a bit and came back. I was too tired to move and fell asleep about 5am -11.30am missing breakfast . Typical. I spoke to lovely lady (dark short hair, always pleasant and caring) member of reception team. I showed her the video I’d taken on numerous BF noises throughout the night. She’d never heard anything like it and promised to investigate my room and fittings and room above as it seriously felt like an earthquake each time he/she/it moved above. With hindsight, I should of asked to move rooms the minute I felt something was wrong. * ON GOING NIGHTMARE AT PREMIER INN BANGOR...NO INTERNET AT ALL. Seriously dead zone, it’s been going on for months. Some Vodafone users get some signal if phone by window.....but kids have cottoned on to this and try to steal your phone if window open. How the staff put up with the Wi-fi complaints is beyond me....come on Whitbread/Premier Inn get this sorted before you lose dedicated and hardworking staff. All the staff at Premier Inn are courteous and efficient which is the places’ only saving grace and the reason I will return."
"The staff are excellent, I was staying while my husband underwent major surgery in the nearby hospital. They really did make a difficult time very much easier to cope with for me. I found it necessary to extend my initial booking, this was made stress free and seamless by the extremely helpful staff. I can't praise them too much."
"We needed a room for disabled people. We were given a very nice room, near reception but getting in with a wheelchair was a struggle. We had problems with the 'card key', we had to get a replacement. The low bath was great if you can climb into it, I couldn't ... I wish we had been told that more pillows were available... The TV was to high on the wall, I was getting neck ache watching it... The mattress was too soft ... We had breakfast and evening meals for 2 days, great food and great staff."

"We stayed in the bunk room the night before we climbed Snowdon. The room has three sets of bunk beds in, a small dresser with hair dryer, a full length mirror and a shared bathroom with walk in shower. It all was lovely and clean and our keys accessed small lockers if required. We arrived late and as none of us had eaten, bought chips from a nearby chippy and then had a few drinks in the bar at the inn. The staff were really friendly and the drinks reasonably priced. We slept well on sturdy bunks and were all able to get a hot shower before climbing Snowdon. Would definitely recommend to others. "
"There were lots of positives, food in the bar was very nice and service was very good. All the staff were extremely friendly. The actual room was small but functional, in my view over priced at £94 per night but I guess that's the going rate if you want to stay somewhere this popular. A short walk to the and you have stunning views. The negatives, they dont do breakfast but they do reccomend using the Pandar hotel which is literally a minute away and does the full fried breakfast and cereals etc for £9.95. The absolute negative was the bed, I was in room 7, 2 singles, chose the one on the inside wall, incredibly uncomfortable, mattress needs replacing ASAP, despite all the positives I wouldn't stay again on the basis/risk of having the same again. Ultimately a hotel stay is about a place to sleep and in this case that was a really unpleasant experience. "
"I stayed as a solo traveller in a single room the night before a trail race on Snowdon. The staff were all very friendly and my room was simple, clean, comfortable and good value for the £55 I paid. The Y Gwynedd is centrally located in Llanberis, so everything is nearby, shops, pubs, restaurants etc, plus it`s got it`s own parking, which is a massive plus too. I wouldn`t hesitate to go back."

"The Black Buoy Inn was a last minute booking three night and we were pleasantly surprised. We chose a room with a Kitchenette for space rather than self catering. We stayed in room 52. The room was clean and spacious. The Queen bed with fours deep pillows was a dream to lie on. Ear plugs were available if you wanted to use as you do hear the bins being collected early. The room had a cupboard with coat hangers, ironing board and iron, and a fan. The dressing table with stool was a good size with a large mirror and hairdryer available in the draw. The TV was big and had a large selection of channels if needed. The kitchenette with table and chairs also had a microwave and fridge, with tea, coffee, sugar and milk being provided along with fairy liquid washing and wiping up clothes. The bathroom had a over the bath shower which was easy to use with good temperature control. Towels, hand towels shampoo, condition and gel all being available. There were two big mirrors to look in as well as a magnifying mirror in the bath room. Breakfast was Table order only with different choices being available and was plentiful the young female on 1st/2nd deserves a special note as she was organised conscientious, helpful and represented the Inn excellently. Dining in the evening was done on a first come first served basis. So if you were staying at the Inn you had to queue outside with everyone else to get a table and although I get you have to keep the locals happy I do feel that paid customers should be given the opportunity to book at table. That being said it was table service and the food that we received was amazing, meat pie, Welsh pie, blue cheese burger, haddock and chips, scampi and the recommended lasagne, all served with a smile and service was quick. Again a special thanks to the young man in the restaurant on 2nd October who recommended the Lasagne and was attentive, welcoming and friendly. Although parking is normally off site as we were on a motorbike we asked if we could park onsite and they were very obliging which increased the security for us but also made it a recommendable place for other people with motorbikes. We were not disappointed In our choice of staying at the Black Buoy Inn and hopefully if you choose to stay here you won’t be disappointed. I will definitely be staying here again. COVID everyone was expected to wear a mask when not sat at your table. All staff wore masks. Tables were cleaned between guests. Sanitiser was available to use. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable."
"A comfortable and enjoyable weekend stay at the Black Boy. Breakfast lunch and dinner take at the establishment. The food here is good and plentiful pub fare which very much sets the standard by which others are compared. Thanks also to all the staff who are always cheerful and helpful."
"We had a lovely stay for my birthday, the room was first class, spotlessly clean amazing facilities in room; dishwasher, microwave, hob and fridge, large tv. Large comfortable bed and we had an excellent meal in their restaurant, highly recommend this place."

"Didn’t realize at point of booking that Ty Dre Town House was associated with the Black Boy Inn in Caernarfon , what a bonus. It is a separate House around a 30 second walk from the Inn , which is where you go for breakfast and optional pub drinks and lunch / evening meals - and both are well worth participating in. Check in is at the Inn where one of the team even came out to direct us to the car park and offered to carry our bags into the Inn (given we were early). Both the bedroom and the bathroom were huge , comfortable and contained everything one could need , there was even an umbrella at the Town House door to use for the 30 second walk to the Inn. At the Inn , very friendly staff serving a wide variety and good value food and drink. Great base for visiting North West Wales and we really enjoyed the castle and a day touring Anglesey. Car parking is provided in a car park around a 2 minute walk away , one quick tip though is that we were unable to get in at 4.45pm as entry was closed although there was plenty of other free parking around the Town which we could use until being able to move it to our deigned car park the following morning."
"Well, what can I say What a lovely find?!. Everything about Ty Dre is exceptional. My room was very large and very spacious - I even had a lot of room to exercise in the mornings. My double bed was large and extremely comfortable. As for the kitchenette, it was fully functional. The bath was the bathroom was very large and had a separate shower. My room had a 42 inch mounted flat screen smart TV. Welcome pack wise, the selection of teas and coffee were more than adequate and it came with luxury biscuits. In the mornings the breakfast was a buffet that had more than plenty of choices - including fresh fruit. The staff at reception, at the Black Boy restaurant and at the breakfast are very helpful, friendly and welcoming, I would definitely recommend Ty Dre Town House. I loved it here so much that I will probably return here for when I do a course in May. My only problem was the accommodation does not compost for waste etc. "
"We decided to have a couple of nights away, and booked the Ty Dre guest house. You have to check in at the black boy pub, less than 5 minutes walk and the car park is free, but at the harbour, 5-10 minute walk depending on speed. Our room was 74, on the 1st floor. Lovely, clean and spacious it even has a kitchen. Bed was massive and comfy, the bathroom and shower were very good. The cleaner was polite and did a great job. Breakfast was served in the black boy, and once again the staff were a credit to the pub. The food was very good, from a full English to cereal, fruit or pastries. Caernarfon is a lovely place to visit, and we would recommend staying here."

"We booked for a few nights in here, and the hotel is a lovely building with decent bedrooms. No complaints about the hotel maintenance. Our room was clean, decent size, comfortable beds, warm inside. The breakfast was ok lots of chooses for meat-eater not much as for vegetarians and vegans.( I know because I asked for vegetarians options). The front desk staff very nice people, friendly ,helpful and professional We were really pleased with them. The cleaners are doing a great job, well done! The restaurant staff are ok, except few girls they were looking ”lost ”and just walking up and down the room when 4 tables was full of previous costumers cutlery. Our table was full of bread crumbs.More attention to detail it will be very welcoming. Unfortunately we didn't had a nice experience at the Bistro Bar. We had few drinks on the first day, out table was full of empty glasses and no one came to pick them just after an hour. Next day we ordered few melas, again no one asking how was the food or if we need something. What we were really disappointed with was two members of staff( guy and girl) behaviour was not professional, I agree speak in your own language but to be aware around. They were speaking in their native language (not meaning welsh) as the staff I'm talking about sounds polish. Talking loud and laughing behind the bar and kitchen between them, we noticed other clients feeling uncomfortable as well. They really avoided our table and we decided to walk away and have our next meal in town. They should give more attention to the clients and to make sure the tables and chairs are clean. That was very disappointing for us. Hats off to the young welsh girl in the bistro bar 10/10 very attentive but couldn't do everything by herself. This is no way meant in a racist manner just if these things was addressed then would be really excellent. "
"we loved our stay overall. It's a lovely hotel with good food and nice range of breakfast. Also nice leisure facilities, just what you need for a relaxing weekend. Good quality for you money. Also a bonus to get a good deal on groupon. "
"Great hotel, customer service was excellent. Food was really good. Breakfast was amazing. Location of this hotel is a short walk from the centre surrounded by lovely scenery. We visited the pool and that was very clean and very relaxing , would recommend this hotel ! Close to Snowdon mountain. The only thing I would say is that the rooms are a little outdated. But still very clean and very relaxing.. "
