"I stayed at the hotel in September with my mum for three days for a short getaway. The hotel was beautiful and the view is simply stunning. The spa area is amazing and stylish, again with fabulous views! We were greeted at the train station by a very polite member of staff, who shared information about the local area. After less than a 5 minute journey, we were met with two glasses of champagne in the beautiful bar area overlooking the mountains. Our room was beautiful and had plenty of space. There was no tea or coffee facilities, which would be my only negative comment, but we weren't too fussed. The train journey from Geneva airport did take about 2.5 hours and you needed to change train, but it was worth the journey! As we stayed in September, we found that the local area was very quiet, a lot of the restauarnts and bars were closed, so we did not have much choice for dining in the evening. We loved our stay here and will definietly be staying again! :) "
"Where to start? The service is outstanding!! We were given a tour of the hotel when we arrived, which was great! We were showed the spa area and ski storage. Also, we were shown how to work the different amenities in the room. This is important...the window coverings were just amazing! Maybe this is common in Switzerland, but not in the USA. You could completely black out the room and it also kept sound out. The free breakfast each morning was delicious and service was excellent. The views from the hotel are just breathtaking!! Now...the spa area. We had the entire place to ourselves and not sure why. I have no words to describe the most beautiful views I've ever seen! They have a giant hot tub, several steam areas, a cold water area and of course, the infinity pool, which is heated to body temp. You can call the front desk and have cocktails delivered to the spa. That was one of the best days of my life -- thank you!"
"A very stylish and comfortable small hotel with excellent service. A member of staff was at the railway station to meet us when we arrived which was a nice touch. We had a room with mountain views which was breathtaking. The room was spacious with a beautiful en-suite shower room, balcony and complimentary mini bar with soft drinks. The hotel didn't offer evening meals but did include buffet breakfast which was delicious. The spa facilities were very good though the treatment prices were expensive. We particularly enjoyed the heated outdoor infinity pool with amazing views and plenty of comfy seating to relax and enjoy the scenery. The staff were so polite and helpful, I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet escape out of ski season."

"I have never written a review on TripAdvisor but this experience left me so disappointed that I felt compelled to submit one. Came to Ovronnaz for a quick overnight stay with my husband. I go to the thermal baths hotel which is completely booked but the staff there told us that a room was available at the Hostellerie de l'Ardeve for $350/night. I thought that sounded a bit expensive but was assured that the rooms were magnificent and romantic - that it was a really special place. So I decided to go over my budget and splurge. When I arrive I find a small, no frills hotel room - nothing romantic or at all special and certainly not worth such an outrageous price. In the morning I see other guests vacating their rooms, all of which are at least double the size with beautiful windows looking out over the amazing views. It almost seemed as if the hotel knew I got an inferior room as at check-in the receptionists seem to exchange a look when they saw I would be in room 104. I felt so ripped off it almost ruined my entire weekend. This is a good hotel for $150 (in fact if that was what I had paid this would be a 4-star review) but it is absolutely not a $350/night hotel."

"While on a motorbike trip we stayed one night in the White hotel in Champéry, this seems to be a family run boutique hotel. We were greeted by our hosts and check-in was smooth and efficient. Our host guided us to our room (201), on the front side of the building. From our balcony we had wonderful view over the valley and mountains. This is what we liked: • Friendly staff • Nicely designed and cozy rooms • Nicely designed building, everything seems quite new • Location and view • Balcony • Well stocked breakfast buffet Dislikes/ points for improvement • Shower was in bath tub and shower head could not be mounted on the wall so one had to sit in bathtub to shower or hold shower head while showering. • Rooms were rather small • I did not sleep too well due to the mattress, although my partner did (so the problem probably lies with me) • It is rather expensive The hotel also offers a sauna, which we did not use during our stay, so I cannot review this. All in all Le White is a nice hotel and seems to be a good spot for a skiing holiday as well as for weekend trips/ summer trips to Champéry. Also, the area has a lot to offer, there is a huge skiing area just a stone through away, hiking and mountain biking trails, nice restaurants as well as a thermal bath."
"Located at the village entrance this hotel turned out to be a good choice. Welcome is friendly and efficient and our room, although not very large, was nicely equipped, including excellent bedding, and very clean and quiet. WiFi ok. Breakfast was of good quality and served at the table or in room. There is a (very) small sauna (unfortunately with no relaxation seats inside) and a nice bar. Altogether, and even if the price is a bit high, it turned out to be a good deal, for the quality and because btrakfast was included. Free parking. Would return."
"Super friendly hotel with stylish decor, comfortable rooms and lovely views. Nice little sauna to help with aching legs, sunny breakfast room and terrace, and cosy little grotto bar area. Great view over the mountains too (worth springing for room with a view)."

"I visited Du Nord three times before and did not complain so far. Let me explain my situation first. I live in Warsaw, my son who studies in Switzerland lives in Aigle. I visit him as often as I can. Du Nord is practically the only hotel in town. Hotel was decent, staff nice, breakfast good. The statement that the location of the hotel is perfect is exaggerated because Aigle is a small town and every location can be reached on foot within minutes. I think that the problem that I want to describe lies in the lack of proper communication between hotel staff and the management; perhaps the language barrier too. Nevertheless it does explain the situation that I had to experience on December 16th 2018. When I entered the doors of the hotel Du Nord on that day, having booked and fully prepaid room I felt humiliated. Because I informed the hotel via booking agency that I would like to check in earlier at 12:00. Because I will be after overnight trip from the remote location. As I usually did and usually it worked. They agreed for my request. The lady who met me at the desk she knew me. At the beginning she didn't want to come to the desk at all because “hotel day starts at 15:00”. I was staring at her with the suitcase in my hand trying to collect my thoughts because all I dreamed about after a trip was a shower and a bed. She kept ignoring me for another minute so I tried to explain that that they eventually agreed for my early check in via email. Not that I wanted (early check in) it for free. I was tough before that every minute in this hotel is precious. Last time in this hotel when I demanded late check out I was charged, which is normal. What I could not understand at that time was that I was charged double for one night because my son slept in my room. It was a double room, paid as usual before my arrival. I was also charged some extra because he had a breakfast with me. OK, this is the only hotel on the hemisphere that charges extra second person in so called double room. I could live with that especially that hotel demanded extra charge exactly while I was leaving it. I was worried I could not arrive on time to the airport so I paid – full stop. It was spring 2018. Back to the present - the lady at the desk showed me my conversation with the object. There were three requests from me: one – large bed, two - “do not charge me extra for my son's breakfast this time”, three – check in at 12:00. The hotel response was very clear - “they can fulfill my expectations”. Her explanation for the inability of early check in was: “It was an agreement for the first of your request but not the other one” - she said. Then she explained that “i have no right to demand an early check in as the cleaning personnel has a lunch break”. I resigned to inform her how much time I spent traveling this day and how much I do need sleep because she would not understand whatsoever. I could wait 3 hours for my room on a couch in reception but I didn't want to. I took my su"
"Super hotel in the middle of Aigle town, just a short walk from the train station and with parking outside on the street. I had two short stays and both times had a very comfortable large room with good WIFI/internet access. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The breakfast buffet provided a good spread with plenty of fresh fruits. I highly recommended the hotel because of the overall amenities, ambiance and location. "
"Central location between the station and vineyards. A small town centre so always a short walk to restaurants, station, etc. Clean modern interiors and a great buffet breakfast. Lots of fruit and cereal options along with eggs, meat, cheese and yogurt. I really appreciated the nut and seed topping options and wonderful baked goods. This is a very quiet hotel and with a room on the street side we enjoyed listening to and watching life on the street as well as seeing the mountains and vineyards over the rooftops."

"Spent a couple of nights in this family run hotel. It is clean and all the staff were friendly. I had a large room with balcony and kitchen. The decor is a bit dated but nothing you could really criticise. No tea or coffee making facilities, which is the norm for a lot of Swiss hotels, but there was no bar or vending machines or communal area which is a shame. Breakfast was ok, although they were still setting it up when I arrived, which was after the opening time. Reception is not manned 24 hours and I had to go looking for someone to check me out. Location is good and the main attractions area walkable."
"The hotel is actually 2 different buildings one is next to the other. The dining room is in the main building . (Usually it’s a sushi restaurant). The staff is friendly. Rooms are simple, but spacious and can host a 4 people easily. There’s a free parking. No air conditioning. In the summer if you’ll open the windows you might have a mosquito problem! If you want to enjoy free attractions- make sure to get the villars free access card that allows you to access free of charge to many attractions around. I did the scooter ride down the mountain..."

"A very comfortable and modern hotel situated a easy 15 minute walk from the railroad station and shops. The short distance from town ensues a quiet stay. The room is large and the bed and pillows are first rate. A excellent bath room with a roomy walk in shower. Room is equipped with a safe and kettle. Although there is no aircon, there is a desk fan provided in the room. Plus there is a double glazed window that can be opened (Covered by a motorized shutter). There is a bar fridge fully stocked. This meant we had to take everything out over night so that we could chill our own items. Staff are very professional, pleasant and multi lingual. No problem getting your luggage to your room as there are 3 lifts available. (Must swipe your door card to operate). Breakfast is plentiful with many choices ~ Including smoked salmon! Good free WIFI. "
"We loved our completely renovated room on the fifth floor with a fantastic view over the garden and 180 degree panorama to the mountains. Everything was high quality and details and furniture had personality. We cannot wait to get back! We'll stay for more than one night next time."
"We visited here on a very late booking. Staff on reception were most helpful, especially Tina, who leant us her own personal UK/Swiss plug converter as all the hotel ones had been handed out. Good food in the restaurant. Great location for getting to the St Bernard Pass. "

"Very nice welcome from Cecile and Bob, we had a comfortable room overlooking the garden. The bed was large and comfortable, and there was a cooling fan which we needed as it was a very hot night. The bathroom was large and functional and clean. The room was also, for Switzerland, very good value. The highlight was dinner: an outstanding 4 course meal, probably the best French-style meal we have eaten in our ten years in Switzerland, and at CHF65 each very very good value (for Switzerland). We were invited for an aperitif in the garden before dinner began, then we all walked in for a gastronomic treat. The one small thing we found offputting during the amazing meal was the noise of the dishwasher doing a quick cycle after each course - diners sit in a kitchen/dining area, and so it was quite noisy when the dishwasher was running during such an amazing meal. Breakfast was simple, continental, but with very good products - excellent pastries, home made jams, etc. We would certainly stay again and certainly eat Bob's excellent food again."
"The welcome by Cecile and Bob makes you feel you have landed with friends. The room was simple but tasteful, bathroon modern and well equiped, beds extremely comfortable. The evening meal was outstanding, highly creative and better than I have eated in some 5 star resteraunts, Bob also takes into consideration any allergies you may have. Minor request would be to have some open wine as this always makes a meal more expensive. As we were there when it was cold we were happy to have the self service tea and the room heater. The location is somewhat different as in a residential area and we had the windows closed so it was very quiet. I imagine in the summer with the windows open you can hear the motorway otherwise I would give this 5 star rating. I would highly recommend for an overnight stay and the meal, although you can go just for the meal we were told. Thank you for a lovely overnight stop. "
"My buddy and myself stayed here as a part of a motorcycle tour in Europe. The welcome was amazing, room was perfect and the setting of the house was fantastic. Being in the rooms and looking out at the view, being hosted to a dinner in the back yard rounded it all up to perfection. To add to the great hospitality and house, Bob is an amazingly talented chèf. The foods he made were a delight, i kept eating because the food was simply amazing. i highly recommend Reves Gourmands to anyone looking for a place to stay."
