Le Pradinas, Mialet, Occitanie, France
"Situated just on the edge of the Cevennes Forest in a lovely setting this hotel offers comfort, quiet and great cooking. We had some of the best dinners ever there & would like to return for more! The Plantier family are very welcoming & helpful with touring information. Great location for visiting Nimes, the Pont du Gard, the Bambouseraie, the Ardèche gorges & villages including the prehistoric paintings at Chauvet, St Jean du Gard with its museum of the Cevenole Valley, Anduze,, Grotte de Trabuc, Le Musée du Désert, Vézenobres & many other sights."
"We have just stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while visiting the area. What a gem could not fault it. The lady who ran the place was so helpful, keen to provide a lovely facility and full of information. Dinner and breakfast was eaten outside with views of the surrounding area. Ideally situated for sightseeing the area."

2300, Rte De St-Jean-Du-Gard, Anduze, Occitanie, France
"May 2019 - apologies for the late posting! We flew Bristol to Beziers in SW France. We hired a car at the airport and drove to Anduze. I have not driven in France since as a child, our family used to drive through France with either tents or a caravan in the 1960s! So be very careful with the toll system and make sure you are in the correect lane for cars, credit cards etc. French drivers are very similar to the UK or better so no problems. The drive to Anduze was OK although there were a few roadwork diversions ending in farm tracks (Google Maps!!). Hotel: Recommended by the Cevenne Tourist Board. In an elevated position a few Kms beyond the town. The hotel has a good parking area. Entering the hotel we were struck with the modern French style with a functional air. Room: similar to a modern Holiday Inn or Premier Inn with comfortable bed and ensuite shower, loo. The room had a great view (as requested) over the valley and across the river to the bambouserie which I wanted to visit. Food: excellent. great beakfasts sitting out in the crisp sunshine. Ready memorable evening meals with great wine. It IS true that the best wine stays in France. We had a bottle of Domaine de Cauviac 2014...OMG! Why can we not get this in the UK! So good it was a revelation to taste something so different and good quality. Really good freshly cooked food as well!! Staff: very friendly. The young lady Sophie, who owns the hotel speaks very good English but its good to try out school-boy french and see the amusement on the faces of the staff!! Outside area: a very nice heated half indoor pool and large sunbed area just right for a siesta. Area: A 25 minute walk gets you to the pretty town of Anduze. Although the last 5 mins are along the side of a road. The town is pretty and very friendly. Again must be my schoolboy French which everybody seemed to appreciate. There was a good market with food and antiques. They specialise in suasage and honey! we visited La Bambouseraie which is the other side of the river. A beautiful zen zone with 50ft tall bamboo as far as the eye can see...amazing and well worth a visit. General: A great stay in a rugged rural paradise. We hope to return in 2020! Don't worry about speaking schoolboy French as it definitely breaks the ice and you always get a good response!!"
"Lovely place with great views of the surrounding countryside. Our room was spacious and air-conditioned with a balcony to enjoy the scenery. The staff were incredible and spoke English which was helpful for us as we sadly and shamefully do not speak French! The bathroom was really clean and the bed comfy - we had a great nights' sleep! Breakfast was enjoyable but quite expensive for a continental breakfast, the hot items were quite limited. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area."

13 rue Pelet de la Lozère, Saint-Jean-du-Gard, Occitanie, France
"The hotel is located in the small town of Saint Jean du Gard. It is possible to walk from the bus stop or from the steam train station to the hotel. This is a smaller hotel situated in a one storey building. The room was normal in size and bright but very simply decorated. The air conditioner made the room cold. The double bed was too soft and narrow and hard to sleep in. The bathroom and toilet are separate but are available to each room. The whole bathroom was new with a good shower. However, it had a moldy smell that we think came from the brick wall that had been left completely untreated. The room had free wifi, there was no safe or kettle and the TV had only had French channels. The hotel has a very nice beautiful garden with a lawn, pool and sunbeds. However, free pool towels are not included which is a bit strange. Also, there is no toilet at the pool. The hotel has no restaurant or bar but you could buy drinks from the reception via a courtesy bar. Note that the Les Bellugues restaurant is not part of the hotel and is a completely separate building. The breakfast was a traditional minimalistic continental which was served at the table with bread, croissants, marmalade, honey and no other toppings, no cheese, no ham. Juice and yoghurt were included. It was possible to eat breakfast at the pool if desired. The reception from the staff was correct but somewhat chilly. For example, after checking out, we had the opportunity to leave our luggage a few hours awaiting our bus. When we wanted to borrow a toilet before we went then this was not possible. We lacked warmth and enthusiasm from the staff. Maybe it would have been a different feeling if we had been french speaking guests. It is unlikely we would stay here again if we again visited Saint Jean du Gard."
"This was our fourth visit to Les Bellugues, and it was every bit as good as previous stays. Yves and Pascal are quietly attentive hosts who have created an oasis of calm in bustling Saint-Jean-du -Gard. The rooms are simple but comfortable and spotlessly clean, breakfasts are excellent - the artisanal chestnut honey a highlight- and the pool area is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the pretty garden. Highly recommended."
"In walking distance from the centre of the village. Spacious room with bathroom and toilet separate. Good linen and towels. Swimming pool - nice and clean. Next to very nice restaurant. Friendly and helpful manager. Quiet area - off the street. Can recommend it!"

18, rue Edgar Quinet, Ales, Occitanie, France
"We chose the hotel for it's central position, and the availability of car parking. The building itself is comfortable, but without charm. Our room was large but they still managed to squeeze the bed as close to the wall as was possible, making acces difficult on one side. We never managed to sort out the room thermostat, so had to resort to opening the window as it it was too hot to sleep. The bathroom was clean, with plenty of hot water, but the shower head was limp. Breakfast was generous, but ingredients weren't of quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking cost 6€ for 24 hours, so this was great, as we could leave the car whilst in town, without having to re-park. We would return if the need arose."
"Well we recently dined at this new place few weeks back as it was my brothers birthday party so we booked the table at this venue It was a good choice as it was not that busy and quite spacious with delicious food choices on the menu with open air venue and good music I liked the mutton seekh kebab, nachos, garlic barbecue prawns and onion rings Along with hoegardeb beer and some cocktails amomg the ladies in our group We had a good time and enjoyed the food and service"
"This is a nice hotel, clean and modern. The service was very nice and it is near the center of the city. You can walk and visit several places. The room was bigger than the average room of Ibis hotels, which is nice. "

Quai Boissier de Sauvages, Place des Martyrs de la Résistance, Ales, Occitanie, France
"I was driving on my own to the hotel and to be honest it's not that easy to spot for such a big building. Once you've actually found it head into the underground car park which is on the roundabout. The hotel has its own area marked in green and a dedicated way into the hotel via a passageway and lift. Checking in was no problem and the receptionist spoke good English. If you've stayed at a Holiday Inn express or Hampton Hilton you'll have a good idea of the standard of the rooms. Mine was clean comfortable and well sound proofed. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the restaurant area in town or 30 seconds from McDonald's so there's really no need for staying in to eat. Breakfast is a simple continental affair simple and good. WiFi worked all over the hotel but did require regular re-registering. Best thing about this hotel were the staff who were all excellent without exception. Smiles go a long way in both directions. I was on business so my company paid but would I spend my own money there - yes."
"This hotel has everything that you need for a good and comfortable stay in the centre of Ales. Great value. Comfortable spacious clean room. Comfortable bed, pillows and sheets. Great hot shower and clean toilet. Clean towels. Clean carpet. Good location. Close to the train station about 5 minutes walk. Easy to find. Close to many restaurants. Close to les halles de l'abbaye alès, a great market place. You can ask the staff to fill up drinking water with your own bottle from the bar at the reception. Very helpful friendly staff. Great soundproof in the room. We slept so well. Thank you. Highly recommended for a pleasant comfortable stay in Ales at economical price."
"Campanile in Ales was really there in a time of emergency. Not only was it there, but the night hostess was nothing short of amazing. She welcomed us at around midnight with a huge smile and made sure that we would have the best accommodation possible, as she could sense we had had an emergency. The hotel itself was clean, the room comfortable and the amenities clean as well. But it is really the staff of this Campanile (a company we had no idea about) that made our stay. I cannot thank them enough. And, should I ever go back to the South of France, I will make sure to pass by this little place, at the door of the Cevennes again. Thank you Campanile!"
