The rooms under Marriott are all about the same, quite satisfactory, and the location is relatively remote. There are no businesses nearby, and it feels like such a hotel suddenly appeared in the forest.
- Guest User
The front desk service is warm and quiet, but the air conditioner is loud. It seems that this problem is the same in all hotels.

My two grandkids, my wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. I had two suite upgrade certificates left in my Bonvoy account and decided this would be a great time to use them. The chances of getting upgraded is usually about 50-50. I called the hotel a couple of days ahead of our arrival and explained that a suite would be extremely appreciated with our 9 and 11 year-old grandkids. I asked if I could put in a separate request for a suite based on my Lifetime Titanium status. She said no problem and would attach a note to our reservation. The day before our arrival, I got a notification that we had been upgraded with the certificates to a 720 sq. ft. king suite with an incredible view of the capitol. We arrived early and our suite was still occupied, so William took all our information and said he would notify my when the room was ready. We took the kids to the Museum of Natural History and the Planetarium. Upon exiting the planetarium I saw a notification that our room was ready. We checked in and the room was beyond our expectations! The sixth floor suite had an amazing view of the Capitol. We settled in and my grandson could not get internet access for his Nintendo switch. We went to the front desk and Nicola tried to help but couldn’t get it to work. So she gave us a number for IT support. We walked down to Providence Place and had dinner at the food court. When we returned he called the IT guy and he was connected in less than 5 minutes! Thank you Nicola!! We had access to the Club Lounge and picked up some sodas and waters. The next morning we had breakfast in the Club Lounge. The food included fried eggs, sausage, fruit and pastry items, coffee, and juices. The following morning the choice was scrambled eggs and bacon. Robert, the gentleman in charge kept everything stocked and the room clean. The following day we took the kids to Newport to tour the mansions. We got back around 6pm. The rooms were cleaned and looked pristine. The bathroom was huge. It was handicapped accessible. The shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. The room a/c worked great. We departed after breakfast. Hanna quickly checked us out. The room bill was perfect. The valet guys were great. The kids were already talking about when we could return. We can’t wait to return to this historical (former) Masonic hall.

When we first checked in we were very impressed with this hotel. Lobby is open and bright and actually smells delicious!, the hallways are also bright and spacious. The lobby and hallways look like they have been recently redone. but then you get to the actual hotel room. I have never, ever stayed in a room this dark. We constantly had all the lights on, yet it still felt like we were sitting in a dark, windowless room. There was a long hallway when you entered the room - that was great, made it feel very spacious and the fridge, closet and bathroom were there. The main room was also a decent size with a nice sitting area. The sitting area had no lights and no windows. So it felt like a basement. The rest of the room was also just so dark and the bathroom- there was one lightbulb. It was awful. One day when some light came though the one window, I noticed how stained the carpet was. Perhaps that is why it was so dark- to hide the stains? The dark bathroom had zero counter space. There was a very small caddy type item next to the sink. I guess this was meant to put your toiletries on, but most of it was filled with towels. I had to carry my things in and out of the bathroom every day. But the worst part of the hotel room, way worse the. The darkness, was that it felt so damp. There were items of clothing we left out that actually felt wet after a day. We turned the air up, down, off,freezing- nothing helped. All in all- this was just a really uncomfortable hotel stay. I’m still looking for a hotel in Providence to which I would make a return visit…Lmk if anyone has a suggestion!

Myself and two other colleagues stayed here for a client visit. The entry was very clean and inviting and the food/coffee bar was very good. The property is undergoing renovations and my colleagues were on the first floor which has already been renovated. I was on the 4th floor which has not yet experienced the facelift. My room was clean and orderly. There were a few areas that definitely were showing the age of the room. There was an impact crack in the sink, some wallpaper was coming off the wall in one corner and the drawers were not in good shape. The room also had no USB ports for charging and therefore you had to use a wall plug/use charger which made it a bit of a pain. I was expecting USB chargers at minimum at the desk. Overall my experience was very good. Just wish I could have been in one of the renovated rooms which are, I was told, very nice. Maybe ask for that when you check in.

The property was wonderful. Only problem is I fell and broke my ankle in the room and I called the desk to see if they had a wheelchair and they did not have anything that could help me. It was a very long walk to the Elevator and to the stairwell. Staff was not helpful. I had to use the luggage care to get out of the building. I am not blaming the hotel for the accident but They should have a wheelchair on the property

This was a solo stay on April 20, 2023. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member, and as such I enjoy trying different properties across the portfolio when I visit different cities. In Providence, I had not yet stayed at this Homewood Suites, so I decided to give it a try. It was a stopover on the way by train to Boston, so I found it extremely convenient, a few blocks away from the station. I was surprised that this hotel did not offer a Digital Key, because it would have allowed me to bypass the odd arrangement of the entrance on the street level and the front desk on the second level. So I had to stop at the desk to claim my plastic old school card key. The desk staff was professional and described the hotel and features, as well as mentioning breakfast down on the street level. My Diamond status was recognized. My room was the one I had chosen during the online advance check-in the day before arrival. As it was a suite, it was certainly spacious. But.... the HVAC was hard to control, if at all. The outdoor temperature went down to the low 40's, and so I would have liked to have my room warmer than it was. Turning the thermostat higher just displayed the higher temperature but did not make the temperature higher. Unfortunately this was realized when I was ready to go to bed, so I wasn't going to contact anyone to rectify it that late. I found the bathroom to also be spacious, with enough room to put my toiletries on the counter. Because of the room temperature I opted not to take a shower that morning, so I cannot vouch for whether there was any issue with hot water. Breakfast.... I did not expect much. It was buffet style but limited selection. I did have scrambled eggs. I was bothered in the morning before my planned departure from the room and well before check-out time by Housekeeping knocking on my door. I thought that they only come in between guests. I had to yell that I would be out within half an hour. All in all, a great location but the lesson learned is to check the temperature control earlier in your stay if possible.

This is a very nice Homewood Suites in a terrific location. The rooms are big and are of high standard. The hotel is definitely one of the better choices downtown Providence. No recognition of my lifetime diamond status when checking in. (Seems to be the norm for Hilton group hotels nowadays.) Great restaurants, bars and other activities within walking distance. Valet parking on the premises. Breakfast in the morning typical of Homewood and Hampton in other locations.

We stayed here for one night to attend my brother’s graduation ceremony at RISD. The hotel is conveniently located and very clean as its a new facility in the town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend people to stay.

Clean, up dated, friendly staff and great location. Hotel doesn’t offer complimentary valet. I definitely recommend!

The bed was very comfortable, and it was $22 to park overnight at the parking lot next to it, and you could get change if you asked for cash. The surrounding environment is very quiet, but there are fewer people on the streets in Providence at night, but police cars patrol more frequently.

Providence is a great town and this hotel is central to everything you may want to do. The room was excellent and the hotel is nice and very well appointed. The front desk provided a complimentary shuttle for our party. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised.
