"This was our first visit to a Tru. We usually stay at home2 suites but after reading reviews and comparing prices, we gave Tru a try and it did not disappoint. Our price was about $99/night and the value for that price was incredible. I appreciated the color scheme and overall brightness here. It wasn’t dark at all and the hotel’s design is very clean, comfortable, and practical. It’s modern yet frugal, in a sort of IKEA-ish style in terms of room furniture. Bright windows but had black out curtains for you late sleepers. Did not use the laundry or fitness center but it was nice to know it’s there. Lobby is inviting and in a post-COVID world, it would be a nice spot to hang out and have breakfast. (Oh, how I miss hotel breakfasts!) If you’ve never stayed at a Tru, you are missing a few conveniences: your room won’t have a microwave, kitchen sink, coffee maker, closet, safe, and even dresser. Storage space is limited, but clever, utilizing under the bed spaces and room long, but narrow, open shelves. There is a small bar with hangars as an open closet and some hooks to hang coats and bags. The fridge is tiny. We stayed here with two young toddlers and I’ll admit the space is a little lacking for a family. There’s no couch or place for floor play. At first I thought this was going to be uncomfortable but the room grew on me as I stayed here. We had things to do so we weren’t hanging in the room as much as usual and it worked out. The room is clean and new, and I loved the bathroom and especially the shower. The in-room soap dispensers are done well and don’t feel like a commercial bathroom. When we first entered the room, we thought it was too small, and now that we are leaving we are thinking we might return, if the price is right again. The staff was very friendly, especially to our children, and that matters. The COVID breakfast is disappointing. I know, you can’t have a buffet in this pandemic, and I accept that. But the offerings are slim at cereal, coffee, and not much else. If you’re looking for protein and no carbs, you won’t find anything here. I cannot wait for the hotel business to get back to real breakfast again. I think Hilton as a brand can do a bit more in this department and get a little more creative during the pandemic. I don’t see the harm of offering some individually-wrapped microwave egg omelettes or breakfast sandwiches to take back to your room. But I don’t fault this Tru for that, but more Hilton as a brand. I also miss the all day coffee station. Honestly, if you don’t need all of that stuff I mentioned (closet, microwave, etc), this is a great stay at a great value. It’s new, clean, fresh, practical, and comfortable. In a post COVID world this is going to be a great brand and it may have overtaken home2 as my favorite. I really wish they had a suite though, but like I said, the room grew on me and ultimately ended up being exactly what we needed."
"Our first time staying at a Tru and were not disappointed. Nice modern feel and tastefully done. Enjoyed the modern room and furnishings. Very nice and clean also which is a great plus. The price is good also. The free breakfast, well what can I say, it was fantastic. So many choices and neatly displayed and clean. Everything we had tasted great. Great coffee too!! The staff made the visit even better. So friendly and helpful. Special kudos to the front desk attendant Sharae. She was fantastic. She really cares about the guests and it shows."
"I absolutely loved the hotel and will definitely stay in one again. It was spotless clean. The free breakfast was awesome. Very friendly staff. The rooms were extremely nice and clean. Not a lot of room but it was clean and it was all we wanted."
