"First of all, the hotel was located right off of the interstate and easy to locate. We didn't have a reservation but was accommodated by the best front desk clerk ever - Sam! She was my super hero after traveling with my mother-in-law in tow for 5 hours on Saturday and 8 more to go on Sunday. Sam felt my pain (which was quite evident by my facial expressions) and provided us with a room (with a door) for privacy, and a pull-out couch for my mother-in-law, who stated she slept better on the pull-out than she did in her bed at home. The room was very clean (and I'm a stickler for cleanliness), nicely decorated and had every convenience that you could ask for. It was a just like home! Breakfast was awesome - bacon was on the menu - nuff said! All in all, we will definitely stay at this property again. Did I mention the indoor/outdoor fireplace? We awoke on Sunday morning to a light dusting of snow which was amazing because we're from SC - don't even see a dusting most times there! Only problem was we couldn't stay longer, but we will be back again! Thanks Sam for everything you did for us(me)!!"
"Found this place as we drove. Were planning on pushing through to Kingwood, WV but had a tire blowout. So i found this and was pleasantly surprised. The front staff was great and very helpful. Was good to have a few restaurants within walking distance. Good place for the dogs play. there was a large open field! Perfect! Rooms were very clean as well as facility. Staff was very attentive as well when our truck woudlnt start the next morning! Thanks so much!! "
"We traveled to WV for a surgery at the hospital in Bridgeport. This hotel was recommended to us by someone at the hospital. We stayed for 8 nights. We found the hotel to be very clean and quiet and the staff extremely accommodating. The location was perfect right across from the hospital. Having the full sized fridge and microwave was key for our long stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone. "

"We had always wanted to stay here and glad we finally did. The staff was very friendly and the room was spotless clean as was the rest of the facility. We had tried to make reservations on-line with my laptop but ran into technical problems. The gentleman at the front desk, Elijah, let me bring my laptop over to the desk to make the reservations. Upon Checkout, There was a charge on my bill, although the room was a free night, and Brittany got the charge removed. Breakfast was good as was the whole stay. Will definitely stay here again."
"Elijah at the front desk set the tone for a nice stay during the week of Christmas. He was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional. Our room had everything we needed: nice linens, good pillow selection, large refrigerator, and comfortable furniture. Breakfast options were plentiful. We will definitely stay here again when visiting family a few times each year. "
"Very enjoyable stay. Room was very clean, staff was friendly and even though it is by a main roadway it was very quiet. Only negative thing was that there was some mold on the shower ceiling in room 206. Other than that..... very nice place. Also here is a bonus. I was in town for surgery at the VA and my stay was free. Doesnt get any better than that."

"I stayed two nights while there filming. A few months ago, I had been there as the hotel was used as a "set" for another feature I was filming. I was so impressed that the management would allow a film crew, actors and background extras to fill their lobby. I was so impressed that I decided to stay there when I returned for a different project. I was not disappointed. The lobby, rooms and the entire grounds were impeccable. Only one small complaint is that when I was enjoying the outdoor seating area, a gentleman came outside and smoked which blew directly towards me. I had to go inside. Not a huge issue, but maybe management should address it further (signs ARE posted that it is a "No Smoking" facility). The room was comfortable, neat and had everything you need from small refrigerator to microwave to hair dryer and iron. I have nothing negative to say about this establishment and want to thank them for their service, professionalism and courtesy. I am a grateful customer who will definitely return!"
"Gold member. Been with Marriott for almost 10 years. On the first night, there were over 20 people in the lobby, not one wearing a mask. The staff didn’t care, didn’t ask anyone to wear a mask, and often times didn’t have one on themselves. Overcrowding elevators with people breaking the “only two at a time rule” and not wearing a masks. Absolutely ZERO staff involvement. People right on top of one another. Coughing and sneezing. They care more about money than the safety of the guests. Staff want to upset anyone by asking them to wear a mask. Manager told me the only thing they can do is call the police (obvious sarcasm). If you’re like me, autoimmune disease and cardiac disease, this pandemic isn’t a joke. Dog on property. This is an animal free hotel. Manager said it was a “service dog”. Dog had no vest on and was clearly not a service dog, highly untrained. Overheard the guest tell another it was an emotional support dog. As a medical provider, I can assure you, not the same thing. Manager said she couldn’t do anything about it. Once again, didn’t want to lose any business by actually confronting someone to do their job.... Called customer service and they were furious about no one wearing masks. Very helpful, as always They also stated that service dogs were required to provide documentation at their “no dog” hotels. Basically told me the opposite of everything the staff at this hotel told me. Will NOT be back. If I wanted this level of intelligence and customer service from the staff, I would have stayed at a Motel 8, not a Marriott. Final nail in the coffin was my check out receipt...you know the spot where the staff can mark comments..mine said “Get Out”.....willing to share the pdf with anyone who would like to see. STAY AWAY unless you want Covid and terrible customer service."
"This hotel is exceptional. The team and the service level is outstanding. The hotel is conveniently located off of the interstate. I enjoyed interacting with the GM as well, she was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. Well done!"

"We booked through a third party and were looking forward to what we usually experience at Hamptons. We've been terribly disappointed so far. Considering the current situation with Covid, you would expect hotels to be pristine. This one has proven to be more than disappointing. The elevator keypad was dirty enough that I wouldn't touch it without using handful of hand sanitizer. Our room was worse. Despite being told that we were getting the room that we were getting because it was the only one that housekeeping had finished cleaning, the room was dusty, the headboards were covered in greasy handprints, the doors were covered in dirty handprints, and the toilet had urine all over it. Instead of complaining, we went and got some lysol and cleaned everything. I was really surprised to see how truly dirty everything was when I was wiping everything down. Then we realized that there was an issue with the toilet. The issue got worse and worse until it wouldn't flush at all. Mind you, it was only TP. I called the desk and I was told that there was no one available to help and that they were sold out, so....... and she left it at that. Inferring that we were stuck with it. At that point I insisted that something be done and that we were NOT going to go all night without a functioning, backed up toilet. Then she said that she would try to call someone but she had no idea when they would show up. Finally, my husband went down and asked for a plunger. He has spent the last 1/2 hour trying to get it fixed. Hampton used to be our 'go-to' place to stay. We're members and we expect better. But we're beginning to realize that they are not what they used to be. And if you're foolish enough to book through a third party, forget about it. They simply do not care."
"We were moving our daughter for her new job and picked this hotel because it was right off of the interstate. The lady at check in was super nice and had our room cards ready when we got there. We had 2 rooms and everything was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and although it’s close to the interstate, it was really quiet. Breakfast was in a bag due to the virus (which we understand), we needed up at the McDonalds instead. Check out was a breeze. We will definitely here again."
"This is the second time myself and my wife have stayed at this location in Fairmont West Virginia. The front desk staff friendly and extremely helpful enjoyed our second stay. We will return to this location when passing through to Florida. Also a shout to the staff that’s a morning breakfast and also the at housekeeping"

"My husband and I stayed one night with our baby on a family vacation. We had a one bed suite which was very roomy with 2 TVs and a kitchenette. We were able to tuck the crib the hotel provided into a back corner so that she was in a darker section of the room. The room was comfortable and we liked that they are moving away from single use shampoo and body wash. "
"This is an excellent place to stay. The room was large, modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable, water pressure was good in the shower, and the hotel was quiet. We arrived at midnight and our reservation was quickly handled by an efficient and friendly front desk clerk. The breakfast was good, and the food area was also very clean."
"We had to check in for emergency stay while traveling. Child came down with 24 hour virus. Staff so helpful with anything I needed. Housekeeping kind and understanding. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite so I was comfortable while waiting it out. Thank you wonderful people!! Walmart close by for the necessities. "

"We stayed at this hotel for a week while in town for my mothers illness and passing. It was a very difficult time for me. The staff at Microtel were so good to me. Not one person working at this location doesn't greet you with a smile. To name a few, Sam, Anna, Gina, Sarah, the cute dark headed front desk woman and the housekeeper who left us a Bible verse and condolences (both of whose names I fail to remember) made us feel at home. They offered to help us with anything we needed during a really hard time. I just want to say Thank You all so much and wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!"
"This was my second time staying here. Unfortunately this was not a positive stay. First, upon arriving, the front desk worker was doing something with the cookies while holding a cigarette. Next, my reservation was for a two queen bed room but it was changed, without notification or reason, to a single queen bed with a pull out couch. The room was outdated and grungy. The bathroom had dried yellow marks, such as urine might leave, on the wall. We went to pull the couch out and found the mattress was littered with stains in addition to being completely worn out. We ended up leaving and staying elsewhere for the rest of our conference. The front desk manager who checked us out was apologetic and friendly."
"During the stay, it was nice coming in after a long day of work with made beds and a clean bathroom with fresh bath towels and washcloths. It’s at a great location too with plenty of good eats near by."

"The staff was nice upon arrival. The beds were very comfortable and great sleeping. The drawback is you definitely need ear plugs. The construction is wood and not concrete or cinder block. The noise of every footstep and door slam carries throughout. The people above us were walking in their room and it just radiates below. Plus they must have been doing work in another room as it was the same results. this is what happens when yo prefab construction. The breakfast was average. They had eggs, Canadian Bacon, Turkey Sausage, cereal, and some fruit. Standard buffet. There are plenty of other restaurants within 2 blocks: Applebys, taco Bell, Hardees, and Arbys. So eating isn't an issue. I would stay again if needed."
"As others have said, the rooms are large and comfortable as are the beds. Hotel staff was very pleasant. WiFi worked well. Breakfast was so-so. Next time I'll go out for breakfast. Walking distance to a Applebee's, Tim Hortons, DQ, Firehouse Subs and Taco Bell. There are a couple of other restaurants nearby too. Be sure to ask for a room facing away from the highway; I believe these would be the odd numbered rooms. Third floor on the highway side was noisy from traffic all night and woke me more than once."
"I travel a lot this Fairfield is always clean and well kept and the staff is awesome at all levels, I will stay at this location every time I travel in WV. The pool is well kept the rooms are modern and there is plenty of parking."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham Wingate. Our King bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The breakfast area was the best I've seen. It was an open, welcoming, relaxing area with a fireplace and plenty of seating. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and shopping as well. We will stay there again!"
"We just wanted a night away and to soak in the jacuzzi! Everything was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable! We will definitely stay here again! It was close to restaurants, the free breakfast was very nice with a good selection of food items."
"First room smelled moldy and water was leaking in the window (it was raining heavily). Got moved to another room and it was worn out. Breakfast was lacking, no hot eggs, didn't even have a toaster. Biscuits were hard as a rock."

"This hotel was very clean, convenient,. It was returning to canada from florida during covid 19. We were stressd & the clerk helped us calm down by info, & getting info from other travellers. Although the breakfast was cancelled due to the virus, we were each given a to go bag to get us started. The room was very clean & modern, with many modern day conveniences."
"Mostly 10 star but only 2 items offered for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Service was above & beyond. Very clean rooms and very fresh smelling. Mask are available if you forget one as well as sanitizer."
"I needed a local room, in a timely manner, after one hotel told me I couldn’t stay there because I was a local. My furnace went out so I needed a place to stay, and they were more than happy to help. Very friendly and helpful staff "

"My wife and I have stayed here several times and we are always very satisfied with everything. First off, I’d like to say that adding Scott to the front desk staff was a good move. He was always super friendly and helpful as a member of housekeeping. He maintains the same great people skills behind the front desk. We also really like Angie. She’s a kind and caring person who puts the guests first. The rooms here are clean and comfortable for a great price. The hotel is easily accessible from I-79 at Exit 132. And there are a lot of stores and restaurants within a 5 mile radius. This is our only choice in the Fairmont area"
"Stayed here on our way home from vacation and found the room the be exceptionally clean, nice size and reasonable rate. Wish they had something to offer as far as coffee, breakfast in the morning but the quality of the room still made it a good value. Only complaint was at check-in and the attitude of the receptionist. It's like we were bothering her and not just us, even the woman that checked in in front of us was also treated poorly."
"The climb up the steep and curving driveway was a shocker. Staff all very friendly and knowledgeable. Room had an old smoky odor to it and when heat was turned on we got to smell old dust shooting out. No extra pillows or blankets in the room. Room was quite clean I will give you that. Not sure I appreciated the typical box of Kleenex being replaced by a single travel pack that looked like a bar of soap for two adults. Bathroom/toilet area is very tight. The tub did not drain during my shower but the water pressure was excellent. Microwave but no hot cups to make anything to drink, mini fridge was okay. Would I stay again? I would have to explore other options."
