Reviews From Real Travelers
At checkin the girl was on the phone, so we had to wait. But when she had finished she seemed to take a long time to get us checked in. Before we had finished checking in she got another phone call, which she answered without hesitation. Then gave us our room keycards but didn’t bother telling us how to get to our rooms. Figured it out for ourselves. When we got to our room it was very noisy. So we phoned reception and asked if we could change to the quieter side of the building. The receptionist was quick to say no that we would be unable to change rooms. So we decided to go down and see if she could make sure this was the case. Whilst speaking to her face to face she was able to phone her manager and get our room changed. Not really happy to be told originally that we couldn’t move. Though for the rest of our stay everything was good. TownePlace Suites are always consistent for being good quality. Breakfast was good, though it did seem to finish a bit on the early side on the second morning. On the morning of our checkout we were phoned at 10am asking us if we were wanted late checkout even though checkout was 11am. Having stayed in many TownePlace Suites over the years we’ve never been pushed to checkout before. We left feeling a bit let down by the quality of their customer service.

Great stay! Breakfast was really good each morning with lots of choices. Hotel lobby was clean, hallways were clean and room was clean. Loved the big TV in the room and how you could swivel it around to position just right for viewing. Room was nice, BUT the traffic noise was really loud. We were on the back side of the hotel on the top floor and I don't know if the noise is less elsewhere but it's something to consider when booking your room. We had the AC on so it wasn't too bad, but I have to say it was the loudest traffic noise I've experienced in a hotel before! I would stay again though because it was convenient, clean, and had a great breakfast buffet.

I had a great experience at this hotel. Taylor had great conversation and gave me some amazing recommendations for the area. She’s amazing at her job. Alicia was wonderful to talk to in the morning time in the Bistro. Esthela was so kind and sweet in the hallways of the hotel. Angie was able to to give me all the information I needed for my trip and more. This hotel is highly recommended the people really care!

Fresh cookies, a clean, modern room, and good food close by…what else can I say? The breakfast/dining area was a great place to post up to clear out my Inbox after traveling. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The fitness center is basic but sufficient. There is also a pool.

arrival: friendly front desk staff. Requested room upgrade based on my status. Upgraded to a larger room. Cute but small complementary gift which included a tiny bag of Fritos, a Milano cookie, one Hershey’s kiss, and one bottle of water. Room overall: our upgraded room was number 313. This Fairfield is in desperate need of a complete remodel. Dirty carpet, stained sofa, rust mold in the tub, window that does not seal, overall crummy room. One lightbulb was burned out and needs to be replaced. Included a nice size mini refrigerator and a small microwave. Bed: decent pillows but worn and old king mattress. Bathroom: lighting was subpar, only received a conditioner no shampoo. Shower and tub area need to be revamped. Mold around the edges and rust on the fixtures. Sleep quality: horrible! With the window not sealing properly, road noise from Interstate 30 was constant. Woke up several times from very noisy vehicles on the highway. Staff: The staff was very friendly. Free breakfast: very good coffee! Assortment of goodies for breakfast including yogurt, bananas, oranges, muffins, granola, and more. Tip: the Mexican restaurant across the parking lot named Posado’s is great. Very short walk.

I had a great time relaxing.
- Tessi Lucas
This hotel is very run down and in need of major renovation. The bathrooms are awful and the whole place seems dirty. The bedrooms that my family used didn’t seem too bad. Paint was also incomplete. Splattered paint on the ceiling? The lobby needs a facelift and the parking lot was even dirty with trash and plastic bottles blowing around. Windows and doors were also in need of some glass cleaner. The smelly hallways wreaked of “pot”. The place was completely uninviting and the lobby air conditioning seemed to be off so it was very uncomfortable with the heat of October. Marriott should buy the property and tear the building down.

Reviews From Real Travelers
I strongly recommend staying away from this hotel. From the moment I walked in to check-in (I made my reservations and prepaid my stay on Hotels.com), I was treated really poorly, not by the person helping me (Gary), but by a woman also behind the desk (Paula). Paul was harsh & nasty, and for some reason, aggressively rude to me, despite the fact that Gary (the person taking care of me) was doing his best to help me. FIRST - this is the only hotel that I’ve ever stayed at that demanded $50 cash for the deposit instead of a deposit on a credit card. So although I was a late check-in, I had to go out to find an ATM to get the cash for the deposit. (NOTE: older reviews claim that there have been people working at this hotel that they refuse to return the cash deposit, at times claiming they don’t have the cash available — Sometimes there have been claims of “smoking” in the rooms. This all appears very suspect in hindsight). Paula really got nasty, almost reprimanding me that if I smoke, I will not get that deposit back. I don’t smoke — and neither does my mother. But I ran out, got the deposit and came back. I prepaid for a 2 Double Bed Room with Accessible Bathroom — but when I got to the room, it was one king size bed. I went back to the front desk to get this fixed, but Paula (again, not the person taking care of me) kept insisting that it’s not their fault, but my fault & Hotels.com’s fault. “That’s the risk you take when you use an outside vendor to reserve your room.” (If they weren’t on hotels.com, I never would have been there. So I didn’t understand Paula’s logic) Gary kept trying to find solutions, but Paula kept rudely insisting that if they change the room, the pre-payment would disappear, and the hotel would not get paid. At one point, she said, “You’re just not happy because you didn’t get what you want.” — I replied to her that I was not happy because I paid for one room, and the hotel was giving me another. I asked for a rollaway, and she told me I couldn’t have one. She repeatedly threatened to have me kicked out — and kept telling Gary to cancel my reservation. But Gary refused. I decided I could sleep in a chair in the room, just so I could get some rest, and I left to go back to the room. Gary then came down to the room, with a sincere apology and a rollaway bed/linens. He had reported the entire event to his manager, and told me to discuss it with Lorena in the morning.
I reported it to Lorena in the morning, and she was very nice, and very apologetic. I don’t know what I expected, but I walk away from this experience feeling bad for Gary & Lorena that they work at this property — and amazed that someone as rude & horrible as Paula is employed at the front desk of a hotel, even if the shift is an over-night shift. I have never been treated so rudely. I highly recommend avoiding this property at all costs. I am basically a really nice guy. I treat people well, even when they might be a little bi

We really enjoyed our stay. One thing I forgot mention. I understood I was not required to pay until checkout. My subjection is when there is a good price, go ahead and pay for it in advance, otherwise one can get stuck with a big safety pin. The value price was still good a even though it was not what I expected from the booking.com site.
