Top 10 Monterey Bay Hotels

I can't pick words how great it is.. but I want to provide details. First and foremost. we stayed 1 night on May 18, we got room 328, this is a suite with fantastic location and it is very very quiet. I and my wife celebrated 22 years of our first date and initially we wanted to pick Ritz in Half Moon bay but we decided to give this place a try.. and oh boy - we will never go back to Ritz. 1. Hospitality. staff is awesome. reception is the most welcome and I want to say - naturally welcome. Very smiley. 2. Valley Kitchen restaurant is fantastic and I can't find another word. it is probably the best restaurant in Carmel. it has a European charm I absolutely love. We dined and had a breakfast. both were great. 3. ”Little things matter the most”. you know what I do not like? it is a extra charge for cappuccino if you take buffet breakfast. I love to run this test, we travel to Hawaii often - 90% of restaurants do it. they say ”drip coffee is included but cappuccino is not”. Valley Kitchen waiter just said ”Oh. I will bring you a cappuccino and it will be on us.” . I love it. 4. room is great by the most highest standards. it has a soaking bathtub on balcony and we spent an hour inside sipping champagne. 5. fireplace with automatic timer - fantastic. you just click ”30 min” and it will go down in 30 min. 6. large bathroom with a toilet inside separated by the extra door. 7. cocktails at the bar - they have a special in house receipts - I tried one on whiskey and my wife got a lavender one. we repeated them. both are just awesome. 8. We tried to book Spa, but it was full.. I assume it is very good because I called them for 2 days in advance and they always apologized that all is booked, and could not find a spot for facial. you should book in advance . on a scale from 1 to 10 it is 11. there is only one hotel in my life I would put on the same level of excellence - it is Four seasons on Maui.. nothing else is better. Thank you, we will return back for sure !

Five stars! From the moment we walked in -- and the front desk team poured us wine and lemonade and gave our children seeds to plant in the garden -- we knew we would love this hotel. The pool was beautiful and warm, even in February. Our kids loved playing bocce ball on the lawn. Our valley villa suite was huge and comfortable, with a fireplace on the balcony. And the whole stay was full of surprises and delights -- a complimentary mini bar with cheese, crackers and wine; plush striped towels by the pool; bottles of water at the valet; toffee chocolates at turn-down. Everyone was so warm and welcoming; we felt like we were staying with family. My children are already begging to come back, and my little one cried when we left. When you book hotels online, it's always hard to tell what the vibe is (will it feel suburban and bland? or cheesy and scene-y? or magical and fun?) -- and I can reassure you, Bernardus is the kind of wonderful, magical place you will love and want to return to for years. xoxo

Unpleasant stay experience. At the time of check-in, there was no door*** at the entrance. Someone was in front of the registration. After leaving the question, the front desk staff did not take the initiative to receive it. I also asked for the initiative to go forward. There was no smile in the process. Applying for a crib at check-in, one is bad, and I don’t see it until I leave it. The breakfast was delivered to the room and it felt a bit like a fast food, cutlery plastic. When I checked out, when I asked if I could give me a bill, the service staff threw two sheets of paper at hand. I was shocked. I asked if there was an envelope and then I threw it. The details of such a service made me think that I lived in a normal hotel. By the way, the hotel will charge an additional $30 environmental fee, saying that the hotel is built in a protected area...

There is no dedicated parking lot, all parked on both sides of the road. If you don't pay attention, don't leave it in someone else's home. Catch up with the Pebble Beach Auto Show, parking is particularly problematic... There are no elevators on the third floor of the hotel, and the luggage depends on the bell***. There are also many advantages, breakfast is OK, the room is large, the scenery is good, and the baby cot can be added free of charge.

I cannot say enough about the high level of service at this hotel. From the moment of arrival, the staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The valet, front desk, and housekeeping staff were super pleasant and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The rooms were a nice size and very comfortable. The window seats were a great place to sip a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. Breakfast tray in the morning was simple but sufficient. Nice way to start the day. WIFI was easy to access and worked well. The location of this hotel can't be beat. Steps away from the Aquarium, restaurants, shops, and of course the beach. Evening wine reception was nice touch. I will say that the decor is a little dated and could use a refresh. However, it did not detract from the pleasantness of our stay. One thing to note - parking is valet. $32/day.

Very good, worth recommending! First, after arriving at the hotel entrance, give the car key. Not only help with parking, but also for free! Some incredible, it is a very good experience! Beautiful lovely boutique in carmel! The room was perfect, my first time staying in carmel and I will definitely be returning! The whole staff was great and very stylish! Very comfortable hotel conveniently located in downtown Monterey and short distance from 17 Mile Drive. Rooms are spacious and staff is very friendly. Room amenities are: individual sized coffee pot and mini fridge as well as standard hair dryer, toiletries and iron. Microwaves can be delivered to your room by request at no additional cost. The Marriott has a bar and serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and other meals. It is connected to the Monterey Convention Center so if you are attending a conference, this is the best place to be. If you need parking, be aware, only valet parking is available at $40 per day with in and out privileges. There are a couple parking garages with hourly rates within a couple block walk, they do not have in and out privileges. Valet service takes about 10-15 minutes to get your car depending on time of day. Mornings were a little longer wait. Wifi is not free unless you are a Bonvoy Member, you can sign up on the spot. Would stay here again.
