"We arrived here on the 2nd of October for 10 nights and it’s definitely not a 4 star hotel :/ More like a 3. To put it in short - The food is average - the same food everyday/night just different sauce or meat. NO HOT SNACKS during the day just sandwiches provided with the left over meat from breakfast 🤮 We came as a family of 8 but had 4 separate rooms, ours was infested with ants and they refused to move us until “house keeping” had inspected, I demanded that we wanted to move because you couldn’t put a drink down for 5 seconds without it being swarmed, eventually we moved and our new room had no problems. Bare in mind the room we originally had, had a door in that we couldn’t open (presuming it was connected to another room) and the ants were coming in and out from there. (Still not sure if it was storage room or people in there) Even though we had a problem, the rooms are quite modern, white/blue/grey. We had a double room (fridge, hair dryer and tv etc) People wrote negative reviews about the entertainment but I personally enjoyed it They had bingo every other night, music quiz, owl shows, guests did activities during the day such as darts and shooting and would win awards and later on be announced on stage. They also did water aerobics one day, which was good fun. Entertainment staff were lovely and friendly. Our room is cleaned every two days, cleaners were friendly And trustworthy (they cleaned properly, moped floors, vacuumed balcony) For COVID-19 They separated meal times so the dining hall didn’t get too over crowded They took your temperature before we entered the dining hall Self serve for food, wear your mask at the bar, getting food or in reception but apart from that you don’t have to wear it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pretty view of mountains from the pool&bar"
"Having stayed many times over the years in the area called la Paz in the town of Puerto De la Cruz, we were a bit concerned what the all-inclusive hotel was going to be like as we walked past many times (our usual hotels were closed). Checking in was quick, our room was on the 6th floor newly decorated and very quiet, so no problem sleeping. Restaurant was very well organised, two sittings for each meal so no battles at the buffet, temperature taken each time all guests entered and were taken to a table. Bar area was also run well, we do not really watch the hotel entertainment, noticed guest having a good time throughout the day. Hotel in general very good and very clean with hand gel everywhere, all the staff very polite and helpful. One downside, stayed in one evening due to rain and watched the entertainment, astonishing to see live birds on stage being used as a circus act, the birds (Owls and Eagle) an Eagle smashing into the glass windows trying the to escape, we did take a video plus photos and were told not to by the staff of LORO PARK where the birds had come from, cant repeat my reply. To end the live bird circus, the terrified birds were used to take photos with hotel guests for a fee of course. "
"Due to the Corona epidemic, we moved from Blue Sea Costa Jardin and Spa to Blue Sea Interpalace, but both hotels were excellent in their service level and coming up with as many solutions for the guests as possible within the possibilities and growing restrictions. Great animation team at Costa Jardin, especially Michael, Alex, Elena and Sofia and the rest of the team, who did everything within their powers to give the guests a great time. But also the reception staff, restaurant staff and housekeeping were great to be around. Very friendly, with a high service level. We will definively come back to Tenerife, Thank you!!"

"Really nice hotel, booked 5 days last minute with Jet2, was everything we wanted. We wanted to just switch off from there world, this was the place to do it. Really Covid safe, we did not even think about it over there. Staff were awesome, really made us welcome, it was the best part of the hotel stay, just made the stay homely and being in lock down a few times this year, was nice to chat with staff and people in the hotel at safe distance. Would recommend, I left my car key in the room, unreal after care from the staff. Been learning to swim for 4 years, first holiday i could do so in the pools, well chuffed All in all just awesome, would recommend,"
"So as of 18 March we are still here and the talk is all about the virus and little else. The hotel closes this weekend and most of the staff will be out of a job. You would not know this. They are all jolly smiling people still despite everything. As for us holiday makers we picked the wrong dates but no one was to know what the virus had in store for us. All the hotel equipment is being locked away..it is only the remainder of the guests preventing them to close immediately. We will have no hesitation but to come here again next year (If the virus has gone!) and we shall have a wonderful time with some of the friends we have met during the last fortnight. So...a brilliant hotel..great food but the staff were EXCEPTIONAL and I wish them all good luck and good health. BRAVO!!!!!!"
"A wonderful hotel with stunning views from the restaurant. If your room does not have much of a view, just walk to the end of the hallway and a shared area with a fantastic view of the surfers beach is right there! Great selection for breakfast although dinner felt a touch cafeteria. This hotel operates at the highest level of Covid preparation. - in fact the entire island does with gentle reminders from the community police. A number of pools, one heated. Very little night entertainment and limited bar space. Extremely close to shopping and a large grocery store Mercado. Only negative was toiletries not replenished throughout a four day stay. Great value for money when other big hotels remain closed."

"The only hotel in the Taide National Park, the facilities are a bit old, so there is an elevator. The window in the room is the tede peak, and the chicken legs and stones, the starry sky is beautiful at night. Breakfast variety is a bit less, dinner is good"

"Personally, when I was driving there for the first time, I thought myself at least three times I should canceled this booking. But don't be scared by this narrow roads up there! There is so much awaiting for your there. This hotel is so calm, and spacious, welcoming home. Exactly, it's more like home than hotel. It's run but most lovely couple, who will do everything to make you relaxed and happy. I was happily surprised by the size of the room, attention to details (every furniture is of value and in its own place), and really great bathroom of at least 4 stars hotel. And the legends about the breakfast :)) yes, it's great as it has been said! And you can enjoy it in gentle morning light, listening to birds and feeling the light breeze coming from hills."

"The drive up to the hotel in Vilaflor, the highest village in Tenerife, was scary when we used Google Maps to navigate our way to the hotel the first time. At least I suffered from vertigo. I highly recommend to use just a regular map to find your way to this hotel and use for example TF 21. There are many way better roads to take while you can enjoy great scenery. Once you manage to get to the hotel that stands in a village at 1,4 km altitude, it's great. The hotel owners speak English and they mke a great breakfast every morning. My favorite was yogurt garnished with different fruits. The only downside was that the hotel is in a quiet village that has only a few restaurants open at 21 o'clock. One good thing is the Casino restaurant. Really cozy and affordable food. And nice owner. It was nice to wake up to the rooster sounds and the birds chirping. Fresh, clean air. This hotel is especially good for fit people who want to hike, climb up Teide or just enjoy the silence. Short, 20 min drive to Teide cable cars where you can either torture yourself :p by walking all the way up to Teide or then just have a nice, short experience in the cavle car where people are packed like sardines. Some improvement suggestions: please fix the two lights beside the bed, as it was quite dark in the room and I had difficulty seeing when I was trying to pack in the evening. It was interesting that the hotel charges 12 e if you want to use the channel clicker/watch TV. Highly recommend this hotel because a.) the service b.) owners very calm and chill. They were genuinely kind. c.) cleanliness d.) it is affordable"
"This hotel in Vilaflor, at a 1400m elevation, is quiet and the downstairs rooms have delightfully high ceilings. It works fine in the summer without aircon. The “homey” dinners in the local restaurant are excellent (served until 2100 and can be pre-booked as half-board); the house wine from a local vineyard is very good, too. Breakfasts are also very good, with excellent filter coffee, decent wi-fi."
"We like hiking and the hotel is perfectly located within reachable nice hiking trips. We loved the peaceful location of the Hotel El Tejar in the pitoresque town of Vilaflor. We enjoyed the delicious regional dinner and the wonderful breakfast. Thanks to the whole El Tejar Hotel Team for making our stay so wonderful. Cheers Miriam"

"A nice small hotel with plenty of allure. Only 5 rooms then the owners welcome your very warmly and you immediately become somehow part of the family and feel at home. This is extremely pleasant. Spacious rooms. Bedding a little bit too old. Big bathrooms but lacking an Italian shower ( according to my wife). All the hotel is very typical and has of lot of allure. An old Spanish house. Breakfast is great but no buffet. "
"Being treated like family members on a foreign island in a beautiful place is worth the money. The owners, Nathalie and Yann know how to handle every kind of situation and they will make you feel at ease. Second time there. Surely will be a third and a fourth and so on. Enjoy the island in this comfy place filled with charm."
"We booked this hotel for a specific night's stay away with our dog. I emailed the hotel first before booking, to ask whether they could cater for our requirements. We specifically wanted a hotel with a restaurant, where we could eat outside with our dog. This was the whole point of choosing this hotel, as we have our own home in Tenerife. They replied to confirm that we could stay with our dog, and that we would be able to eat outside. I booked via booking.com and paid in advance for our stay. We also notified them of our arrival time, and they replied via booking.com to say that this would be fine. We arrived at the said time (3pm) to a closed and locked hotel with a notice on the door saying that the restaurant was closed for 3 days. We had to ring the telephone number, standing outside on the street with our luggage and wait to be let in from the inside by an old Spanish man. If we hadn't paid in advance I would have left at this point, but the lady who owns the hotel told me on the phone that she would be back later and tell us where we could eat with our dog. The old Spanish man gave us the keys to a room, and we let ourselves in. It hadn't been cleaned from the last guests. The bed was unmade, dirty glasses and dirty towels on the floor. I rang the owner again, who told the man to give us another room. I waited for the owner to ring me, or appear to tell us where we could eat. She didn't, so I rang her a couple of times, and texted her, but she didn't answer. We were left to find somewhere in Guimar where we could buy some food to take away and take back to eat on the hotel patio. We had a Chinese takeaway out of the cartons with plastic cutlery. Not at all the night we had imagined. The room was spotlessly clean, and quaint. The bed was fairly comfortable, but small and very creaky. Every time you moved it creaked and woke us up. It was supposed to be bed and breakfast, but as the owner hadn't returned my calls, we had no idea whether this would materialise or not. As soon as it was light at 7.15 am we quickly packed, got in the car and drove home. I cannot begin to describe how disappointing the whole experience was. The owner had said she wasn't aware of the booking, but they had replied both to my email, and the check in request via booking.com It's a pretty little hotel, and if it is open and running properly, you could probably enjoy a nice night here, although the bed needs renewing. If you do book here, I would email, ring, text to confirm your booking and that the hotel is actually open. We basically spent a night in a hotel that was closed! No staff, no service, just nothing. Very, very disappointed. Angry too really. We definitely didn't get what we paid for."

"My wife and I had stayed at the El Tope a number of years ago and felt it was time to go back. Disappointingly the hotel did not meet our expectations. I booked a Superior Corner Room almost a year in advance. I requested a specific location by email and this was confirmed by the hotel. When we arrived the room we expected was not available. We were told by a very unhelpful receptionist that rooms are only subject to availability - despite my confirmation email from the hotel. One of the other receptionists was more understanding and we were told that the room we wanted may be available the next day. We were also told that one of the reasons that our chosen room was not available was that the hotel has an agreement with a German Travel Agency for the best rooms. You can draw your own conclusions as to who this hotel prefers to cater for based on this and my further comments. The hotel advertises Air-conditioning on its own website and on other booking sites. However, this is false advertising as it is not turned on in the winter and even in the summer months it is only on for certain times of the day. My wife and I arrived just after the Calima (host sandy winds from the Sahara) so the temperatures were up in the high 20's and there was still a lot of sand about. Opening a bedroom window doesn't really help and is not good for those with respiratory problems or sensitive to noise. The food in the restaurant is definitely geared towards central European guests. The English speaking TV channels (of which there are only about 3) were not working. Despite promises, this was never fixed. German channels were working perfectly. Despite booking a Superior room, you still have to pay for the use of a safe and there are no coffee/tea making facilities - unless you pay extra. There was no bath; only a shower. No toiletries; just wall mounted bottles. The aluminium patio door was old and needs replacing as its very difficult to open. Despite an engineer trying to oil it, it was no better. The waste bins are unlined - very unhygienic. Drinking glasses were not wrapped and coffee were not cleaned adequately each day. No iron or ironing board in the room. No face tissues provided (this was a superior room). No information book in the room The standard of the superior room was in our opinion fairly basic. Overall, we felt the hotel was penny pinching, not catering for UK guests and needs a overhaul. A fancy bar does not make a good hotel. We spoke to the manager before leaving and advised him of our findings and that we were very disappointed that despite promises we were not offered another room and the TV channels were never corrected. Given the price charged there are better hotels than this in the area. We would go back, but only if the price was right and we would lower our expectations. In our view this is a 3 star hotel - not 4. Hence the 3 out of 5 score (which given the above is very reasonable). In the meantime, the hotel should imme"
"When we reached the hotel, we were upgraded to a suite with a balcony which turned out to have a view over the pool. The room was as good as we could've hoped for with a massive bed and the cleaning service was excellent. The food was plentiful at braekfast and dinner times (we went half-board) although some of it was a bit bland, but that doesn't detract from what was available. A big thank you to Santiago, Angie and the rest of the staff in both the dining room and bar for their service. The hotel is half-way up the hill so their is a bit of a climb after visiting the "beach" area, which consisted of about 50 metres of black sand. The walk along the promenade was lovely as were the restaurants and bars, then there was the walk back to the hotel which was a bit of a trek for my partner who has COPD. we found a lovely tapas bar half-way up the hill which was a great rest stop. There were a number of German tourists in the hotel who were very nice and a bit more chatty that the UK ones. We also witnessed their carnival parade which was brilliant and 10/10 for the enthusiasm of everyone who participated in the parade. All in all, it was a lovely week in a lovely hotel. Hopefully we will be able to return in the near future"
"I went to Tenerife with my parents back in 1985 and The Eltope was the place to stay. It was luxury for the elite. Back in 2015 I stayed at the Hotel and decided to go back again in 2020. The Hotel main bar is refurbished as was our corner room on the 6th floor with great view. Slightly unhappy as the balcony had no Sun at all. Great views of the Sea. Room was modern with walk in shower and renovated in part. Food was great for Salads and Desserts - I did not try the hot food. Breakfast and Dinner where good. Didn't use many other facilities. Reception staff friendly and helpful as are all the other staff. Good room cleaning too. Given the price, competition in the area , location etc this hotel is great and well worth a try ."

"We spent a week in this hotel recently after a week's cruise. Upon our arrival, we really did wonder what we had let ourselves in for. The hotel seems to be an addition to the local McDonalds and the entrance to it is rather shabby. The reception area as a whole lacks any character and is in need of general refurbishment. However, we went on to really enjoy our stay at the hotel. Our fourth floor room faced west and had wonderful views along the promenade and the sea. We had not paid for a balcony but that really didn't matter as the window opened to provide fresh air. We had a lovely view of Mt Teide from the room too. The room was spacious and came with a fridge and was very comfortable. This is a large hotel but the eating area did cope, despite the very busy breakfast period. We had half board and the evening menu was always varied although it was a buffet. Freshly prepared food was available every evening, including entrecote steak and chicken breasts. There was usually something that you could choose from the menu. The hotel should, however, label the desserts to avoid wastage when you have chosen something not to your taste or to which you have an allergy. The great attraction of this hotel is its wonderful location next to the sea. You can stroll in either direction along the promenade and there are plenty of local bars and eateries closeby. There is also a convemient supermarket across the road and even a local bus stop outside the hotel. A taxi rank is also just across the road. All in all, a very pleasant stay."
"The hotel is in the excellent location. We loved everything about our stay. Friendly stuff with an amazing hospitality! We traveled during the covid-19 pandemic, so we expected some differences during the dining, but everything was excellent. Thank you for amazing vacation! "
"Two weeks at this hotel was fantastic, clean , good food, and helpful staff. Location could not be beaten, with fantastic ocean views from balcony. Spacious rooms, comfortable bed. Food was well prepared and presented, never disappointed over my two week stay. "
