Top 10 Murphys Hotels

Sinead , Sam, Debbie and last but NOT least Vibha who won the day by making me Frenchtoast as we make them in Pakistan and India , not to mention Chris and finally not to forget Hucksby who outdoes us being 4 legged and an adorable puppy make this place a special, friendly , loyalty rewarding home away from home. I asked for tap water and Debbie brought me nice bottled water with a glass and brought it to me upstairs . I believe the lovely lady who took my booking on the phone the first time was Chloe but I could be totally wrong about the name was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel situated in the High town 7 minute walk from the station. Looking forward to Vibha s French toast again tomorrow. It's not on the menu but if you ask nicely she ll oblige! They taste nicer the Pakistani way with sugar beaten into it and as Vibha is from Mumbai she knew exactly how to make them! Thanks everyone at Leaside whom I am yet to meet!

Not much to say really. A charmless, personality void sort of place. Aesthetically, it's not a great looking place. A sort of 1950's maternity hospital look about it. The place felt like it was closed. The majority of the chairs and tables were stacked up in corners. Staff on site were rarely seen. It felt a bit like an an abandoned ghost hotel. The room was average in size. It was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Bit annoying it didn't have a soft-close toilet seat (being picky now). The Air con was a free-standing machine in the corner which when on, was noisy and rattled. I could barely watched TV, and certainly couldn't sleep with it on. Didn't attempt breakfast, it didn't look that appealing. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not.
