"Stayed for 1 night as we were supposed to see a band (cancelled due to this coronavirus outbreak). Very strange times but made to feel so welcome in this lovely hotel. The staff were absolutely brilliant and gave us all the safety information and advice needed while staying. Dave who booked us in was so friendly and helpful. Room was great with fantastic view of the millennium bridge. Such a shame the announcement came to close all pubs and restaurants that night and the quayside became like a ghost town. The hotel restaurant stayed open for residents only and the food was amazing. They had good hygiene restrictions in place and residents were spaced out at least 2 meters from each other in the restaurant. The young waiter was so friendly & nothing was a problem for him - we felt so sorry for all the staff as it meant they were probably losing their jobs but they all kept so upbeat. Definitely will stay there again when this madness settles down and recommend it 100%. Food delicious, amazing staff and lovely rooms - try to get a room with a view. When checking out the staff said the hotel was remaining open unless ordered otherwise but hopefully it will all get back to normal sooner rather than later."
"You cannot get a better location in Newcastle than this. About 30 metres from the Millennium bridge, across the river from the Baltic building and 10 minutes walk from the centre of town. Perfect. The decor in the entire hotel is the usual Malmaison corporate style, which is very nicely done. The bar area really is something else. Our room was very well proportioned, comfortable and well equipped with a mini-bar, safe, iron, etc. The view from our window was disappointing but the views from the front must be amazing. The staff, as usual for Malmaison, were excellent despite the looming threat from Coronavirus. Our waiter at breakfast (Tirsko?) was a real professional, as was the cocktail waiter. I would love to come again."
"Having stayed at other Malmaison hotels I was expecting a very high standard. I was somewhat disappointed. On entering the reception area it was not easy to find the desk as it was so dark inside. Our room was comfortable and looked out over the Millennium Bridge and the Tyne which was very interesting. However, the decor was all black and grey which didn't really appeal to me. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Our package gave us an evening meal as well as breakfasts. The food was very good but there was a really limited menu especially as I am vegetarian.. Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare. All the buffet was still there but served individually by one member of staff. This led to enormous queues. Throughout the hotel there did not seem to be enough staff. We are both disabled but there was no help with luggage. We enjoyed Newcastle. I never realised that it still had some city walls and our walk along the history trail was very enjoyable. The shopping in Newcastle is also excellent"

"At 1pm on February 13th, London time, I took a taxi from Newcastle Airport to the hotel. As a result, at another place, the counter operator swiped my child's card for the first time. I could n’t make it out. The child thought there was a problem with the card, and then swiped it with my card. The swipe successfully printed the document. Spend 420 pounds and deposit 200 pounds. Then I walked with luggage for half an hour to the place where I stayed. The location of the hotel is very good, right next to the train station. There are three bedrooms and one living room. The problem was on March 5th, the credit card repayment, I found out how much the child's credit card repayment amount, check the bill, gosh! The child's two cards were deducted four times for 420 pounds for a total of 1680 pounds, and my card was deducted for 420 pounds and 200 pounds deposit. It has been happening for almost 20 days. If I did n’t check the bill, the extra money was lost and the hotel was not found for 20 days. With Ctrip feedback, Ctrip is very serious and efficient, and asked me The transmission certificate and feedback said that as long as the information is complete, if the hotel has not dealt with it, Ctrip will repay the loan first. Things are still being processed, reminding passengers to check in in the future must be careful to swipe the card, to see the text message reminder, later discovered that there are text message reminders to charge four times, but just hurriedly thought that the card is problematic and did not pay attention. Although I believe that the British merchants will not knowingly, but the front desk staff is so unskilled, I did not find feedback to Ctrip or me afterwards, and took the initiative to refund. I think this hotel service can only score zero points (the hotel apartment usually does not see the staff, the front desk is the only time)."

"Fabulous old property with interesting architecture and internal decor. We were attending a friends wedding and staying over for the night. The room for the wedding ceremony was ornate but the accoustics were terrible and we couldn't hear or understand what anyone was saying. There was no PA system and if there was it would have made things worse. They really should do something about the acoustics in this room. Acoustic panels and some heavy drapes at the windows would help. The other problem was the seating that was provided, it was the most uncomfortable chairs with very small seat area and very straight backs. These same chairs were used in the wedding breakfast dining room and the same room was used for the evening entertainment. So by the end of the evening you will have had a most uncomfortable day on these seats. Not satisfactory for a place like this that is supposed to be a quality venue for weddings. The staff were pleasant and efficient and the bedroom we had was fine with old fashioned furniture and bed. But for the £135 we were charged (without breakfast) it wasn't good value at all and I wouldn't stay there again at that price."
"Thought it might be a historic building modernised to the extent that it kinda loses it character. But it wasn't, great compromise between modernity and history, bedroom especially, love the tapestry type stuff and olde worlde furnishings. Staff really friendly and hardworking, dinner lovely and tasty and I was asked on checkout it I enjoyed my stay, which might not be a big deal to some but means a lot to me; so many hotels of this price don't bother. Finally the ghost tour was brilliant, although tbh I've known Graham from Chillingham Castle, their loss is your gain. He not only unearths the amazing history but seems to attract the spirits too and his warmth, personality and passion is terrific."
"Welldone Beamish Hall! What a great idea to be able to come up with a socially distanced event and allow us to have a little something to look forward to in these uncertain times. We had an amazing evening! Great value for money and very well organised! It was so emotional at the end when everyone showed their appreciation in the form of beeping and flashing! Thank you to all the team! "

"Very good location and very nice enjoy it with my friends staff was very friendly specially the Helth club gai I like him very young man polite person Very clean hotel Nice very nice view from our room Tyers bridge sun set from our room parking was great but pay for it never mind it’s worth it great location thanks "
"The service was average. I stayed for 7 days. I didn't change the sheets in the first 4 days. I notified the front desk to change the sheets on the fifth day. I found that the sheets were dirty when I came back at night. I called the front desk and no one answered the phone. In addition, I find every day that the waiter who cleans the room always puts less things after cleaning. If there are no napkins and toilet papers for a few days, no body lotion is used for several days."
"Next to the bridge, the parking fee is more expensive, and it costs 12 pounds for one night. It discriminates against the Chinese and is arranged in a disabled room."

"The hotel location is good, the health is good, the rooms are small, clean and tidy, the service is warm, and the facilities are complete. Slippers, etc. are not provided in foreign hotels. You must bring your own. This should be noted."
"I came back to live in this hotel. I still like the feeling of this hotel. There are a lot of windows, the light is very good, I tried breakfast, I feel general, especially coffee! There are too few varieties!"
"Every time you come to Newcastle, you must choose the Signal Hotel, next to Chinatown there is a subway station downstairs to the city center and it only takes 10 minutes on foot."

"Stayed for one night on a Saturday night, overall the stay was a bit of a disappointment, especially compared with other Premier Inns we've stayed in. Noise Our room on the first floor was right above a noisy bar with thumping music until the early hours of the morning, so couldn't sleep. I realise we are in the city centre on a Saturday night but I don't think that is really an excuse for poor soundproofing - we've stayed in plenty of other city centre hotels (both Premier Inn and otherwise) and this was one of the worst I've experienced. Heating system We eventually drifted off to sleep but then were woken again absolutely roasting as for some reason our heating had turned up to 24 degrees c, even though we hadn't touched it and it had been sitting at a much comfortable 20 degrees when we went to bed. So we then had to get up in the night again and try and sort the heating system, which for some reason kept defaulting to 24 degrees. I'm not sure whether the heating was being controlled from a central location but whenever we turned the temperature down it didn't seem to have any effect. So we ended up opening the window (unfortunate as it made the room even more noisy with the additional noise from outside) to try and cool the room down to be able to sleep more comfortably. Decor Another negative of this hotel is the tired decor - it is a shame as it is clearly an old historic building with lots of character. With just a bit of work it has the potential to be a really gorgeous hotel. Location Our one positive experience of this hotel is the central location, which is why I have given it 2 stars. Overall it was a pretty uncomfortable night and I wouldn't recommend this hotel, unless maybe you're on a night out in Newcastle and just need a place to crash for the night, and are not bothered about getting lots of sleep."
"Wow,work in hotels myself and must be a habit of checking the room and Room 229 was spotless no dust was lovely and clean :) Premier Inn beds what to say that they are wonderful, great comfy nights sleep, Quiet, I nearly slept in for breakfast. Breakfast was hot and excellent along with great service from check in to check out a great night away. Thanks Premier Inn Quayside"
"We have stayed in many Premier Inns and always had a comfortable stay. We stayed at the Premier Inn Quayside recently which is located really well for Newcastle city centre. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and had a good night sleep but felt the hotel wasn’t up to the usual standard of Premier Inns. The room we stayed in was tired and the hotel needs renovating or freshening up as the walls were dirty and the basement smelt really bad. I have always recommended Premier Inns and will still use them however wouldn’t stay here again. "

"We stayed here on the 29th October. On checking in the staff we're very efficient and following all the covid requirements. The family room was really good for the price we paid. Very happy with our stay and looking forward to our breakfast we headed downstairs to the restaurant. What a let down, toast paper thin cold and crisp, the black pudding over cooked ,the eggs over cooked on the bottom and snotty on the top, bacon was dry thin and could not be cut, hash browns well you get the idea!restaurant staff lovely but "chef" needs a lot of training because if you can't cook a breakfast then you shouldn't be in a kitchen "
"Check in was friendly, room spacious, comfortable bed, good size of bathroom. Receptionist ladies always friendly and talkative( blond young girl), easy to understand local accent. Accessible room close to the lift and reception. Location perfect for walk and enjoy Newcastle weekend nightlife. Would stay again."
"we had a excellent stay and I love the breakfast. keep up the very good service. We love the table service too. When thing get back to normal i like to see the table service stay. it made my trip in this not so nice times a lot better . thank you."
