"I booked our trip through Priceline which apparently means you get treated in a slightly lower level of care in most hotels and Embassy Suites was no different. I was hesitant to book this hotel because there were a lot of negative comments on Priceline but the deal was too good to pass up. $69 for a standard room (there was no explanation of what a standard room was)but I like the happy hour and free breakfast. When we got there they upgraded us to a king suite because the hotel was being renovated (i.e. expect noise and dust). The hotel happy hour and breakfast were excellent. A suggestion...don’t eat out in the open while renovating or your food will get dust settling down on it from the upper floor work being done. Our second night’s sleep was interrupted by an alarm going off that was coming through the vent in our bathroom. I called the desk and my complaint was addressed by the night clerk. Unfortunately 30 minutes later the alarm was still going off. I called again but no answer even after letting it ring forever. I assumed she might still be trying to stop the alarm but after 30 minutes it was still going off. I called the front desk again, but like the second call she did not answer again . I got up, dressed and went downstairs. The clerk was there, she was just ignoring my calls. THAT IS NOT OK! She said the alarm was on the floor above us (not the floor under construction) and she had called engineering about it. This was now around 2am and had been going on for at least an hour. The alarm was not shut off until at least 8 or 9 in the morning. We finally turned on the TV for the rest of the night to drown out the incessant beeping. The next morning when I tried to talk to the day clerk he refused to talk to me because we booked through Priceline! If hotels don’t want people to use services like Priceline why do they list on these websites? He gave me someone’s business card and told me I would have to call them to let them know about my concerns. This is not the quality of service I am used to at Embassy Suites. I like the renovations, we were the first ones to stay in our room. However Embassy Suites needs to work on their customer service."
"The oldest Embassy Suites with renovation. Evening reception and breakfast with made to order omelette with all Suite rooms, open aviary, friendly staff. Good price for the area with easy access to I-435, but why charge for parking when space is adequate and others in the area don’t?"
"We stayed here on a Thursday in the presidential suite. Pros: easy to find, great staff (friendly and accommodating), within walking distance of an amazing Indian restaurant (touch of asia - eat there!!!), they're still able to offer the managers reception and breakfast even during COVID. Cons: it's the little things. Our toilet paper roll was basically broken off the wall. The "bar" area in our room screamed 1993 (mauve laminated counter!). The refrigerator was sooooo tiny (would be expected bigger for a "presidential suite"). The pool was also smaller than what is expected based on the pictures. Overall, It worked for our simple overnight stay on our way home, but I don't think I'd stay again."

"Came here as part of a military Strong Bonds couples trip from Fort Riley. The room was very nice, and the Kansas room and dining area were excellent. Food was pretty good, thank you for catering us. Noema, Nancy, Brittany, Lesly, and Leticia were all very helpful, providing honey upon request. Everything was satisfying except concerning the pool. On Friday night we swam and enjoyed the heated pool. I’ve never stayed somewhere with that feature and it was amazing considering the temperature outside. The kids loved it and so did the adults. However. The security employee and a maintenance employee were drunk eyeing us starting at 2150. We were drinking in the area, and spent a couple extra minutes cleaning everything up. The last person left the pool at 2203 to rude looks. On Saturday morning we walked passed the pool to see steam rising, it was definitely heated. That evening when couples started returning to the hotel, the staff turned off the heater. By around 2030, families were swimming again, however everyone was complaining that the water was cold. There was also no steam rising outside, obviously the heater was off. I went up front to Brian Alexander and commented, asked him to have the heat turned back on which he did promptly. Within fifteen minutes there was steam rising again from the outside portion. However the damage had been done, and everyone left the pool quickly. My pregnant wife was looking forward to relieving her aches in the water and was unable to due to the temperature. It’s very clear to me that someone turned off the pool heat in order to force us to leave earlier, and that chapped my cheeks. Very poor hospitality on an overall good trip."
"The Check in and Check out Front desk service was great. The breakfast is adequate, what you would expect. The staff in this area also did a great job. The business center is adequate and worked well. The parking is good and the location for us is great. Would stay here again."
"The place was so clean, the room is very spacious and have so much space. It was quiet and I loved the coffee bar. The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. I loved the location, it was close to everything from shopping, and restaurants."

"We decided to stay here for a somewhat weekend getaway. I rented the room online and was pleased to find that we were able to check at 1 pm vice the normal time of 3 pm. The room was ok and to be honest I wasn't really sure what to expect as the pictures online showed two different types of rooms. It seemed as if they had some from updated junior suites and some from older junior suites. Needless to say, I got an older style as you can see in the pictures. Immediately I noticed some cosmetic issues with the room that I am not really sure are consistent with a $300 a night suite. For example, outlet covers were damaged, walls were dirty, shower seals were not in the best shape, not all the furniture looked well maintained (you can see all this in the pictures). At check-in, I was delighted to find that we had access to the club lounge (which is always a major plus) and I think there was an extra fee for that. The lounge provides drinks, seating area, cappacino machine, snacks, and it is where the breakfast is provided. The walls seemed to be sufficiently sound proofed as we didn't hear much when in the suite, even with a major soccer outing happening that weekend. Furthermore, because I have 3 children we always make sure there is a pool and this one was great, no complaints there. The television did have an excellent on demand section with movies that are still in theatres and not available to rent elsewhere yet. We decided to watch the new IT movie once the kids went to bed. We ordered room service as well later in the evening. I want to point out that IT WAS THE BEST ROOM SERVICE I'VE HAD! Great job to the staff, we ordered some goodies and it was on time with the estimated time they gave us. And again, it was amazing... Probably better than some restaurants in the area. The staff in general was great. Even the lounge staff was especially friendly and made conversation with the kids which is always nice. The major negative feedback I have, that I know probably can't be fixed, is that you have to take a separate elevator to get to the parking area (if you opt out of doing valet). For example, I was on the 4th floor so to get to my car I had to take an elevator to the main level then walk about 500 feet to a separate elevator and then you get to the door to the outside parking area. There were no handicap parking areas in the front of the hotel only 2 spots for 15 minute parking for check ins, that wasn't great either. In summary: -I rented a junior suite that in my opinion was slightly sub-par for the price. The website has pictures of other suites so they aren't consistent with what you'll actually get. -Room Service was exceptional -TV on demand selection was amazing (however slightly pricey at 19.99 to rent a movie for 1 day) -pool was average -Staff was great -Lounge was very good and well stocked"
"Absolutely gorgeous hotel and very modern comfortable rooms. All employees were friendly, knowledgable of the area, and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Oh, and the skyline view from the room is beautiful! There's a walking trail within a mile or so."
"I've stayed here a couple of times and every time, it's wonderful. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the location is so convenient being connected to the convention center. The drinks at the bar are great and I just love staying here."

"there is plenty of parking. the lot is fenced and gated but not hard for someone to just walk into and break into your car which makes me wonder why they charge $8/day to park there. the lot was NEVER near full and the Drury across the street has a parking garage and it doesn't cost anything. only 3 elevators but they moved quickly and so you never really have to wait long. the internet was NOT steady and was slower than I would have expected. the fitness center was okay but not great. the pool areas were nice and the indoor/outdoor pools are a good option. the room was very clean and plenty spacious enough. if you look closely you can tell it's somewhat dated but you'd have to be a very picky person to be bothered by it. as always the staff was top notch and when I made a request for extra towels via the app they were delivered a lot faster than I thought they would have been. the location is great and easy access to the highway and close to a couple of restaurants, you can walk to and even more within 5-10 minutes drive. the ladies in the club lounge are great. if you need to come to the overland park area you should not hesitate to stay at marriott kansas city overland park"
"If Starbucks is closed you cannot get food, the bar is open but the person manning the bar is never there, they must be saddled with everything but feeding the guests. Luckily Applebee's is across the street and you can get a hot meal that is delicious which I did not expect from a chain. The room was clean but the bathroom was heavily worn, this was on the concierge level which was not open and I felt I was unfairly charged for something they had no intention of having. I was told zero housekeeping was available and to call for whatever is needed, during a conference call someone tried to open the door, then I realized I did not have a do not disturb sign, when I called the front desk to request one they stated no one is making rounds you really don't need one, that is fine, except someone tried to open the door, had I not had the inside lock on they would have been in the room, perhaps you need a security check!"
"Had a meal in the hotel one night which was good, then walked up to the local tap, which you could walk quite easily around the back of the hotel, It was quiet in there.so went to Johnnys Tavern over the road. Had a great meal and drinks. Had a free breakfast the one day which you could pick from a selection off the breakfast menu. The receptionist was very friendly."

"This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this location for business travel. Expedia screwed up the booking royally so I have learned my lesson and will book directly going forward. The hotel staff was very gracious in getting my rooms booked correctly at the last minute. Hotel room was well cleaned. I will stay here again."
"I've stayed here for several business trip and the elevators are unreliable, often out of service. They really need to replace them. We got stuck in the elevator twice and I've night they were down to one out of four working, with a long line waiting. Not what I expect at a Hilton. Everything else was perfect, so I know they can get past this. Please replace those ancient elevators! "
"Our grandson turned 10, so we took him out for a special “double-digit” weekend celebration. We chose to stay at the DoubleTree in Overland Park, KS. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our chocolate chip cookies were warm and wonderful!!! The 3 of us enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet, too. We’d recommend this DoubleTree to everyone!"

"Checked into the Courtyard in Overland Park and was assisted by the Front Desk representative, Julie, who was very personable and helpful throughout the process. We were only staying one night, but we found the room to be very comfortable and quiet. we had an issue with the water not being hot, and registered our concern to Natasha the evening representative. She assured us that if we let the water run for a short while, it should heat up nicely. She was absolutely correct! We enjoyed a comfortable evening and good night's rest, and when we checked out the next morning, Natasha not only aplolgized for the water problem, but reviewed our bill with clarity and efficiency. Nice job by the Courtyard ladies: Julie and Natasha."
"We stayed Friday-Sunday nights for a family trip and I don't think any events were on at the convention center, so judging by the parking lot the property was not near capacity. We enjoyed the property - nice and clean, modern, well cared for and well run. Three comfortable nights rest. As with most (all) Courtyards, breakfast was not included. We did enjoy a good rate via a third party booking service."
"I could choose to stay anywhere in Kansas City. But I never stay anywhere but here. The staff here make you feel right at home. Actually, better than that!! In particular, the ladies working in the back restaurant are sweet and attentive. You truly feel like you're their only client. And the courtyard area is beautiful and pleasant."

"We have moved from Arizona to Kansas and stayed at TownePlace Suites in Roswell, Dodge City and currently Overland Park, KS while we look for a home. Despite Covid, staff has been attentive, accomodating, kind and helpful. We are traveling with 2 doggos and they really like the grounds at all locations and were gifted doggy treats in Dodge City:) I found the rooms are very clean and well-equipped for extended stays.I had an issue with the mattress at this location... spoke with Shon and he addressed the issue ASAP. Give this guy a raise, good customer service is hard to come by these days. Five stars for sure! Safe, healthy travels all! ❤"
"During our remodel we were unexpectedly displaced from our home. We arrived stressed out and Eric the manager saved the day by getting us in our room of choice and making us feel at ease. Him and all the staff we saw during our 3 night stay went above and beyond to make us feel at home!! Thank you, you guys rock!!"
"Stayed two nights in business. Selected hotel for great location in Overland Park. The rate was really low for a Marriott property in this area. Hotel is dated and room had a scent of cigarettes. Room and public areas were very clean. Full kitchen. Staff was really great. Shower did not work properly first night and only had a trickle. When I left for work at 0530 I asked the front desk to have it repaired or move to to another room that evening. When I returned that evening, it was not repaired. I ask the front desk again and this time it was fixed within an hour. Breakfast was good with several hot and cold selections. Fresh fruits and lots of pastries/bagel choices. "
