with everything in St Michaels being very expensive, this motel was a great deal. the beds were very comfy, the room was large and had a microwave, large fridge, coffee pot, TV & iron. the water did have a faint smell of sulfur, but we survived it. the pool was nice and very clean. it is next door to a gas station & supermarket which was convenient. the AC running was a bit loud, but we got used to it. it is close to town but not walkable, unless you are a real hiker. i enjoyed our stay as it was comfortable and affordable.

I know there is some I trust about reviews, but I am a real person. I don’t normally travel for business but suddenly at was at this holiday inn twice in three weeks. Florence, at the front desk is fantastic I can’t even say enough. I didn’t catch the front desk/maintenance man’s name but he was so helpful too. The breakfast is so good, the rooms are clean and there are absolutely no issues with comfort or security. I normally don’t write reviews but I am so impressed with this location!

This was by far the worst place I have stayed in my life. The smell in the hallway and bedroom was indescribable -- a combination of mold, unwashed bodies, and decay. The ”bed” was a collection of spring coils covered with a thin piece of material. The sheets had cigarette burns in them, and we found hairs on the sheets when we pulled down the covers. I found a nondescript red and white pill capsule on the floor. The towels were threadbare and they gave us only two. When we asked for more they refused to give us more towels. We unfortunately had to stay for two nights and they did not clean our room or make the bed. There is no WiFi in the room. The room phone was dead, so I had to use my cell phone to call the front office. The TV remote control did not work, even after changing the batteries. To make things worse, we were there over Ironman weekend and they GOUGED the price. I should have slept in my car. It would have been a better night's rest.
