A proper 5 star hotel in Trondheim! Even though we are from Trondheim ourselves we decided to spoil ourselves in a luxury stay at Britannia. We booked a Deluxe Room which is more than large enough for two people. The room included a seating area and table, as well as a desk. Where other hotels tend to save money on building their bathrooms ”institution style”, that is definitely not the case here. It was the nicest and most comfortable hotel bathroom I have ever seen. A couple of observations you might find useful: - Room service is open throughout the night, which means you can always get food without having to leave the hotel at any time of the day (and night). Perfect if you arrive late. - Room service is blistering fast. Food arrived within 20 minutes from us ordering and the food was excellent. - Housekeeping does a extra round in the early evening to prepare the room for the night. We were so pleasantly surprised about this when we came back to the room and found it all tidy. New towels, bed made up ready for sleep, new water bottles and of course chocolate. They had even put a dust cap on my half full glass of juice. A very nice touch! - Entrance to the spa is included. We went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was too crowded for our taste. Try visiting during off-hours. A number of different treatments can be booked too, but we did not try those. - Breakfast is served in the iconic Palmehaven where you can order from the menu, eat from the buffet or do like us: both. All is included in the room fee. You can order breakfast to your room but I would strongly advise to at least go to Palmehaven once. Our stay was overwhelmingly positive, but there are two negatives I want to remark at the end of this review. - We had arranged a few items (strawberrys, sweets and drinks) to be ready at our room on arrival. These were not there when we arrived, so we had to call the receiption to sort it out. They were quick to bring it to our room - but as I had ordered it as a surprise it wasn't quite the same. - The waiter at one of the hotel restaurants, Jonathan Grill, didn't know the difference between tenderloin and entrecote. When he brought the meat to our table he kept insisting that the entrecote was the tenderloin, while it obviously wasn't. In the end we just ”agreed with him” and swapped plates between us so that I got the entrecote I had ordered and my girlfriend got her tenderloin. I would expect that any waiter at a steakhouse, at least at a 5 star hotel, to be able to spot the difference.

We spent two nights at Britannia Hotel. At arrival and Valet Parking there is still air upwards. Many staff are not available there and the first one is informed that the parking is full. Then when you see the booked room category, it suddenly is no problem to let the car park. We felt very well from the entry of the hotel and it all fit wonderfully. The whole hotel is out and in a very beautiful condition and everything moves at very high level. The whole staff is always very professional and is good to very well trained, great compliment. The rooms are wonderful and especially the turn down service on the evening (Thanks to the friendly lady from Brazil on the 10th floor) is perfect and will meet the expectations more than just. Breakfast and dinner (both in buffet form) in Palmehaven restaurant were very good. With breakfast the quantity is not too big (what we liked) and the quality is very high. Concluded: We enjoyed every minute at Britannia Hotel and we did not see any relevant negative points that would be mentioned. The atmosphere and the living atmosphere of the staff are always harmoniously matched. We are very pleased to recommend the Britannia Hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights, while at a conference in the hotel. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The rooms were clean and functional, yet smaller than I had anticipated. Our room had a double bed, one sitting chair, and a desk. Each side of the bed had a nightstand. The room also has a rack to hang clothes and some awkward shelves that open in a way that make them unusable. There was very little space around the furniture though. It was quite cluttered with our luggage. The location is so/so. It's along the water/harbor, which is nice, but it's a 10+ minute walk into the city center. It's not a flat walk either. You have to cross over the train tracks via a walking bridge. It was doable, but kinda annoying. The best part of our stay were the lovely and accommodating staff and the restaurant. The breakfast, as others have pointed out, is pretty darn amazing. While our other hotels in Norway had similar options, this hotel really took it to the next level. There was nothing overlooked. If you could imagine it, they had it. It really was quite remarkable. The fried eggs topped with crispy bacon were so very amazing. The eggs tasted SO much better than U.S. eggs. They also have so many more options than traditional fare of eggs, meat, and potatoes--they have a yogurt bar, meat and cheese bar, pancakes with toppings bar, veggies and dip bar, juice bar. Really, you name it. The catered event lunches were nice, too, and loaded with tasty desserts. One drawback was that hotel lacks self-service laundry options. We used a drop-off service nearby that was SO expensive. We couldn't find anywhere to do it ourselves. Overall, this hotel is a solid choice for Trondheim. The breakfast alone is worth coming here!

This is a nice and high-quality hotel. If you're lucky like me, getting a room with a nice view will add to your luck. There are, however, some points to be raised regarding this hotel. First, I asked the reception what makes my room ”superior” to normal rooms. One of the answers was the view! Second, there's no telephone in the room. They ask passengers to send text message, and this is not applicable who do not have sim cards or plans in Norway. You have to go to the reception every time you have a question :-(. Also, let's pray you do not have a problem in the mid-night that needs contacting the reception. Third, and to my surprise, no tissues were in the room. Again, I checked with the reception, and they said that's right! Finally, I went for ”Green Stay”, which I expected at least ONE service during my one week stay. However, to my surprise, there was no room serivce for the whole week. My tash bins were full, and I was out of coffee and tea bags, and of course ...

Perfect place to be when you want that hotel feeling for your whole family in your home town. And what a breakfast - our two year old loved it and so did we! Since it’s so expensive, it’s nice to be able to buy hotel breakfast and skip the sleepover. so that is what I will do next time (since it’s in my home town ;)

the Hotel is according to my opinion not so good like on the website. The breakfast is realy very good (I can recomandet it) but the room ist not like on the website. The room is smaller than other Hotels for 3 Stars and the Gym has no working air conditioning. At the midday was in the Gy for three days like the Sauna.

Breakfast is superb, the room is comfortable on the 6th floor, you can see the mountain, the facilities are complete, the location in the city center is very convenient, the city is very small, it is recommended to travel in 2 days, art students can see various libraries for free, there are two in the city. The restaurant tastes good, very calm and beautiful and small city

While checking in I asked for a room on a higher floor seen that the hotel is at the centre of Trondheim on a busy street. The receptionist claimed that all rooms were fully booked and were given a room right above the hall where a high school party was taking placed The hotel didn’t bother informing us beforehand or at least choose a more convenient room away from the noise despite knowing about the party. We only discovered the noise once we got to the room. When we went back to the reception to ask for another quieter room, the receptionist seemed very bothered by our request and after insisting on changing the room we ended up being downgraded being the “only” solution. For clarity, we only discovered we were downgraded later since the receptionist tried to sell it to us as a newly refurbished room not a downgrade. However, there was still noise although not as audible as before but we were assured the party will be wrapped up at 23:00 since it was a Thursday and that was the time agree with the organisers. Later than night, past 23:00, the party was still going on and louder than before. I had to call the receptionist twice before the hotel finally shut down the party (about 23:30). The following day was not better especially that we were still in the downgraded room and right above the bar. We tried again to have another room but in vain as it was a Friday and all rooms were full. Luckily this time, there was another receptionist who tried to help and managed to find a more suitable room on a higher floor for our last night and offered a gesture after she realised we were not given the room category we booked and actually were downgraded. Other than this horrible experience, the hotel itself was not in top shape. Facilities have seen better times. Minimum amenities, not even a bath mat or slippers to stand on. We’ve seen three different rooms and couldn’t see the effect of any cleaning. We had to indicate the breakfast time due to “COVID consideration” but nobody seemed to follow any timeline and the breakfast area was always crowded. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

The Radisson Blu hotel is still trustworthy, the hotel is decorated in a Nordic style, simple and clean, but the material quality is very good. The hotel is 35 minutes from the airport bus. The airport bus has a stop at the hotel entrance, half an hour during peak hours. Walk about 10 minutes from the city center. Trondheim is the oldest city in Norway and the birthplace of Vikings.

Very convenient for walking to to university, just 10 minutes. Ideal for transfers on the bus to the airport. Disappointing to find restaurant not open on the evening of Sunday 26 June. This after no inflight meals with SAS. The room was ok but the wardrobe hanging space is poor and there was no shelving in the shower room. On arrival there were towels missing in the shower room and no toilet rolls. The cleaning staff had left cleaning materials in the bedroom and it took 2 days for them to clean the tray of spilt sugar where the kettle was. The breakfast food is fairly typical but I was expecting a range of seafood. Only salmon was available. The staff were lovely. So overall pleasant but not exceptional.

Fairly satisfied; the hotel is a bit far from the city center, a 15-minute walk, not many restaurants around, but the airport bus directly to the door, very convenient.
Talking about the airport bus, it is much cheaper to buy tickets online (https://www.vaernesekspressen.no/) 30 minutes before departure.

The hotel room is large, the lobby is fully functional, breakfast starts at 6:30 from Monday to Friday, and breakfast is served at 8:00 on Saturday. We sadly urged to leave the hotel on Saturday, so we did not have breakfast at the hotel, but we could leave the breakfast with a box. . The hotel is in a good location, only a ten minute walk from the train station and not far from the sights. There is a supermarket nearby, McDonald's, Burger King can be a belly.
