"This hotel is a solid 3-star hotel, similar to a courtyard or Hampton Inn quality. There are minor cosmetic wear through the room/bathroom and the cleaning isn't Four Seasons quality but I had a good stay and the staff are wonderful. The Cons - If you're below floor 18 or so, you may hear street noise. It's worse if you're below 10. I was on 14 and heard the crosswalk beeping non-stop. Faint, but still. I moved to 21 and could still hear it periodically but not as often. - People rave about the cleaning here, but the first room I got had someone else's hair around the shower, and the outer part of the toilet bowl had someone else's pee. Not a lot, but still gross. - Mixup of rooms. I called housekeeping to request a cleanup time of 10:00a for my five night stay. They did it that day but no one showed up the next day. When I called, they said someone set my room as do not clean. I have no idea why as I never requested this and never used the door hanger to indicate this. So they must have mixed me up with someone else. Also, they once called me to tell me my pizza arrived, but I never ordered a pizza. I should have claimed it anyway. - Low water pressure. The shower and bathroom sink water pressure was low, but the kitchen sink was good. Neutral - Neighbor noise. It's mostly a business hotel so you won't hear a lot of families and kids. The walls aren't paper thin, but you may hear people above you moving around and pipes sounds in the bathroom. It's not terrible, but would be worse if it was a family hotel. - Room size is on the smaller size. I would recommend upgrading to a room with a sofa-bed if you want a size of a more "standard" US hotel room. - Minimal toiletries. There are mounted shampoo/condition combo in one bottle (that tends to leak) and body wash in another mounted bottle in the shower. You get a bar of soap and a mini lotion. I suggest bringing your own bathing stuff if this isn't enough. - Checkout time. You can bump it back 30 minutes but they'll charge you if more. 12:30p is the latest. Pros - Simple room decor. Kind of reminds me of a modern hospital suite. - Comfortable bed - Great appliances - full sized fridge, stove top, microwave, coffee maker. You also get a new sponge and dish detergent. - Staff. The staff really want you to have a pleasant stay. After I was annoyed of the housekeeping issues, I coincidentally ran into Parker and he was incredibly accommodating. He comped me dinner at Caroline's and moved me to a different room. He even called me the next day to check on me. - Location is great. You're a short walk from a lot of tasty places and VooDoo Donuts is right there. I got to all these recommended food places on foot in 30 min or less. Or you could just take one of the billion scooters left all over to faster commute time. - The breakfast is amazing. I only had it one day but it's free and they had fresh flavored pancakes, a yogurt bar, cereals, pastries, fruits, different juices, e"
"My fiance & I stayed here from a Friday-Monday in February. The employees are friendly, the rooms are clean and pretty. The breakfast included was fresh and healthy, we didn't eat breakfast anywhere else. There were dairy and sugar alternatives and fresh pastries. The restaurant on the first floor is cute and delicious. The adjacent coffee shop has unique coffee beverages, pastries, and desserts. I love that there's a bar on the 2nd floor. You can head down from your room to grab a drink during happy hour and hang out to play lawn games, there was also a DJ on a Sunday afternoon. The hotel itself is in a great location downtown. We walked to the Austin visitor center, many restaurants in the area, and the 6th street bars to hear live music. It's a short scooter ride/uber ride to Rainey St. Overall this place is awesome, we'd definitely stay here again! Thanks for having us!"
"When I booked this hotel, I booked it based on it being a category 6, the same as the JW Marriott, about 6 blocks down Congress. When I first checked in, I get to my room and immediately go to the bathroom after setting my bags down. Upon lifting the lid to the toilet seat, I notice the toilet has dried urine on it. Given that traveling and cleanliness a big concern, especially during Covid, I immediately called to the desk and alerted them. They asked me to come down. I came down and the lady working was very nice. She was very apologetic and gave me keys to another room as well as a drink voucher to Caroline, the bar at the hotel. I get settled in and then meet some family across town. We end up at Caroline’s later I used the voucher. The next day, we go to the football game and come back mid afternoon to relax. I wanted to just lay around and watch some tv until we went to dinner later in the day. The TV would not connect. I call down to the desk multiple times and no one picks up. So I try to reach them through the chat option in the Bonvoy app. After waiting an hour, someone finally falls. Instead of trying to fix my issue, he wanted to give me more drink coupons to use at Caroline’s. I wasn’t in the mood to drink. However he insisted that is what he could do to help. With that, Caroline’s had a wait and I had no option to use the voucher even if I wanted to at that point. We ended up just hanging in the room until we went to dinner. We found a great spot called Lamberts, about an 8-10 minute walk. I highly recommend it if you visit town. Later that night, after spending some time with friends across town, we come back to the room and step in dog feces in the hallway. I once again have a conversation with the staff and they didn’t even care one bit. To me, that was strike 3 (other smaller issues I haven’t even discussed). But in a category 6 hotel I expect much more. We ended up canceling our last night and going to the JW Marriott, which was much nicer. I never leave negative reviews. Being in business I know how much of a pain it is to deal with them. But when I gave this property many attempts to make things right and they wanted no part of it, it’s what I’m left to do. I don’t want anyone else to have a similar situation. "

"I had a staycation weekend w/ my girlfriend for my birthday and we loved the hotel and the room. I had recently stayed at the Fairmont Austin which is another very upscale DT Austin hotel and I prefer ZaZa for the personality, decor and vibe. Lot's of construction going on all night while we were there, but that is just how downtown Austin is currently and no fault of the hotel. Everyone was very nice and service was excellent although I did get a lot more comps at The Fairmont when we went for our 18th anniversary (w/ the hubs not the BFF), but that can also be who you encounter etc. They did give us a glass of house Prosecco at the bar for a birthday treat, but that was it. Again, not looking for comps, but it is something you remember and notice. Still I would choose ZaZa over the Fairmont for the vibe and also the actual room was appointed better. It is super close to bars and restaurants (so is the Fairmont though) and it is a short walk to the running trails and kayaking on Town Lake. Also the Fairmont comped us WIFI, but normally there is a charge which I found odd when you are paying that much for a room, it was included at ZaZa. I can't compare to the Dallas and Houston locations as I have never been."
"If you're seeking a personal touch at a luxurious hotel, Hotel Za Za is it. The Staff is led by a very personable GM (Jacob); they were 100% focus on ensuring our time there was fun, safe and comfortable. Excellent hotel with excellent location located at the city center. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff. They offered tips to make our trip more interesting... about bike trails, city supermarket, shops, restaurants, bars that are within walking distance. I wanted to something special for my Wife and they went above and beyond what I initially asked. Would definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Hotel ZaZa for going just that little step extra for the me!!! #hotelzazaaustin"
"Frank Torcino at Group Therapy on the 7th floor took the best care of us throughout our stay. We arrived for breakfast AT 7am and he was polite and cheerful with an excellent manner. We can back for some drinks and he gave us excellent recommendations and again made our stay memorable. We always have a great time whenever we stay at zaza but Frank elevated everything simply by being himself. Could not recommend this place more. THANK YOU FRANK!"

"My wife and I have not been able to spend time with our grown Children who live in Austin since the COVID situation came up as I have to take immunosuppressants and we had not found a safe a comfortable way to spend time there. I reached out to the W to understand the current safety standards and ask for special room accommodations to make the trip both safe and enjoyable. Within hours I had a positive response from their management team wishing me safe travels. As usual upon arrival we we greeted by the warmly by staff but they were also taking care to observe all precautions. Throughout the stay they made us not only feel welcome, provided us everything we could need (including off menu smoothies) but also made it so that we did not feel concerned about being outside of our safe space at home. Room service was excellent and the way they have the outside setup at Trace allows for great food, fun atmosphere and also Social Distancing. If you like us have been thinking it is too risky to travel, or that when you got to the hotel it would feel like a hospital, the W Austin will change your mind. Thanks to all the staff that made our trip so great. Justin"
"The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The room was large with great view and comfy bed. Very well appointed. Even had a clothes steamer in the closet! Lost a star in the review because the bathroom water pressure was terrible and the water in the shower and sink never got really hot. Also, so happy to see there were several water bottles in the room. Two of them were Voss water which I thought might not be “free”. They were not as I got an updated invoice. I think there should have been a sign indicating how much they were! Won’t drink them next time😂"
"The pool is open to the public in the summer for $10 a person if you make a reservation online. The service is great and both of the managers always come by to check in on you. Kid friendly and I fun!"

"Stayed two nights in Arrive Austin with my husband for a live music show happening down the street. We reserved a balcony room and were pleasantly surprised to be situated right at the corner of a happening spot. We enjoyed watching the crowd from above - then walking downstairs - or out on the second-floor patio - to dine and drink in Arrive's numerous food and bev outlets. First evening, we watched the sunset at the Gin Bar, then thoroughly enjoyed our time at Vixen's Wedding (the main bar behind checkin) - eating delicacies from all over, each with a Texas flair. We were thoroughly entertained with people watching and decided we didn't need to leave the property to have a wonderful time. Our second day, we visited Lefty's for drinks before we got ready for our night out at the club. Overall, we had the best times of the weekend there at the hotel. Room was fantastic - with a large, lovely shower and comfortable(!) king bed with excellent pillows. All the hotel and food/bev staff were great. Throughout our two days, we spent time in every part of the hotel property. NOTE - there was no coffee-maker in-room, but there is a coffee shop downstairs in the same building."
"Stayed here twice now and was very satisfied both times. The hotel's design outside and in are really unique, and the rooms have a very cool modern industrial feel but with all the comforts you expect from a hotel room. They do everything over text, which makes it easy to get whatever you need from the staff. And East 6th St is the coolest part of Austin right now, and this hotel is right in the middle of it. So many great bars, restaurants and hangout spots in an easily walkable area."
"Room was spotless and appreciated the individual packaging of towels - really showed how much thought was put into keeping it clean and sanitized during covid. I loved how easy it was to communicate with the hotel over text. I also appreciated the check-ins from the staff throughout the stay as well making sure my experience was going smoothly. It's also in an ultimate location of East Austin being able to walk to such great, fun bars and restaurants. Definitely would recommend and stay here again!"
