It’s sort of difficult to know how to rate Amanpulo, because the experience is really all about the absolutely spectacular location, more so than the hotel itself. I’ve rated it 5 stars, but it’s more like a 6/5 on location and a 4/5 for the hotel. That’s not to say the hotel isn’t nice, it’s just not at the standard of some of the other Amans. It’s starting to show a bit of wear and tear, and the rooms in particular could stand to be modernised a bit. There seemed to be bits and pieces of renovation going on around the property (2 of the tennis courts for example were closed during my stay, with a big construction mess on them), but it would be much better if they just closed the hotel and did a proper job on what’s now a 30 year old hotel. If done well, it could easily be one of the best hotels in the world. My random gripes about the hotel in no particular order: 1. The main pool closes at 6pm, which is a huge shame not to mention ridiculously early. It’s also totally unlike the other Amans I’ve been to, which let you use the pool whenever you want. As long as you’re not making a lot of noise and disturbing other guests, I don’t see what the issue is with letting guests use the pool at any time. 2. They really should offer at least one more flight option rather than only to and from Manila, for guests that want to continue exploring the Philippines without a round trip back to their starting point. An option to fly to El Nido or Cebu for example would be a huge convenience. 3. Breakfast stops at a pretty early 10am, and their snorkelling activity takes place at 9am, meaning if you want to do it and have breakfast too you need to get up early - why? They should offer the option to snorkel in the afternoon as well, or else just do it at 11am so guests can have breakfast first. 4. Very old blinds in the rooms which were weirdly difficult to open and close - and even with all the windows closed, the metal chord on one of them repeatedly swayed back and forth against the wall, making noise unless I held it in place with a pillow. They should really have automated shades which you control with a button (I’m aware this is the literal definition of first world problems) 5. I asked twice a day whether I could take a trip to Manamoc, and was repeatedly told it wasn’t possible due to weather conditions (which was sort of bizarre as the weather was very calm). When I was told the weather was finally good enough, they said the boat was then booked so I couldn’t go, which made no sense as I had been asking non-stop since my arrival to do the trip. They did finally accommodate me - but they charged me for a picnic basket which I never had, and 3 crew members which is a huge overkill - just 1 to drive the boat is all that’s necessary. So the trip to Manamoc, which is incredible and a real must in my opinion, was extremely expensive. I’d recommend staying in one of the beach casitas - I moved from a hillside one (37), to a beach one (10) and though

Overall the resort which resides on it's own private island is spectacular. The private flight from Manilla takes about one hour on a prop plane. The beaches are immaculate with fine white sand and the ocean is calm and inviting. Each guest accommodation comes with a golf cart which is needed to get around to the various venues. Surprisingly the interior roads are not paved and depending on the weather are either dusty or muddy. Although the resort is evidently about 30 years old we thought is was much newer. The resort has three distinctly different restaurants and the food quality is excellent. The only issue we had with the restaurants is that they never show you a bill, or have you sign off on what you ordered. The day prior to our departure I asked to see a printout of our charges and sure enough there were errors on several of the restaurant charges. The resort didn't dispute the errors and were cordial in their approach but I would personally prefer to be presented with a bill for review each time. The resort offers snorkeling off their boat each morning at 9:00 AM for about an hour but surprisingly does not offer it any other time during the day. You can however find snorkeling sites from the shore. However unfortunately much of the coral off the shore has suffered from bleaching. Aside from the few issues mentioned we were pleased with our experience and would highly recommend this resort.

The island was gorgeous. The staff from the airport, the boat, and the island were very attentive and the manager (Eduardo) was very hands-on. Doc Mel and Nurse Mel were very nice and helped me while I was sick on the island. Very impressive that they have a medical team on the island. All staff made our stay very seamless. Everyone was nice. The island-hopping option was a favorite. Overall, 12/10 on all aspects. Definitely worth it. We would love to return. Actually, all of my guests would love to return. Thats how wonderful the island, staff and amenities are. Thank you everyone!

Staffs of this resort island are amazing. They are willing to help you and greet you with a smile. You don't need to worry about anything. There are activities you can choose from. I highly recommend participating in these activities to learn about the area and appreciate its beauty.

The environment is very beautiful, the rooms are large, and the facilities are very user-friendly. For example, there is a flushing faucet at the door of the room, so you can rinse the sand off your feet before entering the house. The service is particularly good, every waiter you meet will greet you warmly. Pay attention to needs and provide services at all times while eating. The only downside is that the food in the restaurant is on the salty side. The three dishes I ordered for dinner were all very salty, and all the salty foods at breakfast were also very salty!

The desk service was very messy. At other resorts, as soon as you make a reservation, you'll receive an automatic email that tells you about their pickup schedule and asks what to do. Trip.com has no problem, whether this resort was originally, Rather, inquiries via the website. / Homepage messages / resort e-mail both did not respond ... What a five-star resort wondered how to do this. It's the first time I've been to a five-star resort with such a mess. In addition, the restaurant also added an additional sparkling water without a notice about the charge. I don't want to go again. The resort itself was tidy and the staff from other positions (except reception and dining crew) were friendly.

The environment is beautiful, quiet, suitable for vacation, and there are various activities to participate in. The room is not large, basically there is no network signal, it is not suitable for mobile phones, the TV is not good, and it is suitable for the waves every day. Dining is ok, in general, lunch & dinner is only drunk with free white water. Although the juice and soft drink are not too expensive, but the price is more than 3,000 a night, the drinks are still a bit pit! The beach of the hotel can't be launched into the water. There are good beaches by boat, and there are no people, so most of the photos I upload are beaches that go to sea.
- CHUNXIA
The island is private and quiet, and there is a turndown service every night. The hotel has sea activities every day, which will be staggered with the island hopping tours outside. There are relatively few people at several attractions. There are snorkeling beaches, fish feeding caves, boating, and three meals are included. At the buffet, the Filipino island hopping guy is also very enthusiastic and will help you take photos. Winter is the peak season in the Philippines, so the price will be more expensive. It would be more perfect if there is a bathtub.

Hotel service is good, free shuttle, from the dock of another hotel in the town, take the speedboat directly to the island, 40 minutes or so, the island is very beautiful, the room facilities are not luxurious enough, the sea view room, the room I arranged for It’s very bad to see the sea view. There is no bathtub in the room. There is no private pool. I am not satisfied with the private pool. The only room type with the private pool is the one with the highest price. Note that it is not a balcony or a beach view, nor a sea view bungalow. . Also don't eat in the room. It will attract a lot of ants!

Overall it was a great stay food was good, great service however i just wanted to point out a couple of issues, the room we were at #416 we had a very difficult time opening and closing the knob for some reason each time we go in and out was sort of a hassle, also the room lighting was very poor, it was quite dim and hard to see your face while getting ready even at daylight. Other than that everything was great the servers at the restaurant were fabulous and courteous. Thank you!
