"The whole team. We stayed at the premier in as we hosted an engagement party and a lot of our friends and family were staying there, and we thought it would be nice to have breakfast all together. My partner mentioned this as we were checking in, when we returned to our room we had a box of chocolates, a bottle of wine and a lovely card. The personal touch was amazing."
"Spent a Comfortable 5 night stay here during the flooding week 17-21. Located on the local retail park so close to Asda, Greggs , KFC. Usual PremierInn configuration, although we felt the beds were below the usual high comfort standards. Didn’t use the pub / restaurant attached as it was half term week and busy with young families. Preferred to search out the local pubs - the Rock Inn (no food), a short 10 min walk across the bypass road and the Bute Arms good local food and real ales, sports tv and a short drive in town."
"Excellent accommodation surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Brecon Beacons. Plenty of eateries and supermarkets for all your needs close by. Friendly staff and informative receptionist. Parking and breakfast facilities in the character Brewers Fayre. "

Victoria Business Park, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, United Kingdom
"On arrival was given the facade of rooms being sterilised and Covid safe.Given room 211 and found used towel on bathroom door. Given a second room 222 but found brown dirt around toilet seat hinges. The reception guy came to look after admitting he had seen the towel in room 211.He offered to get a cloth and clean but I had cleaner and paper towels with me and cleaned it myself. So much for cleanliness and Covid safe. I then wiped every surface, switch and door handle myself as was staying for 3 nights. As well as these problems there was a paper wrapper just under the bed ,probably still there. Not life threatening so left it but just shows the level of cleaning. Quite a few guests walked around in corridors with no masks, one guy actually came out of his room ,no mask ,to use the phone.Throughout the experience did not feel Covid safe ad just waiting for the 14 days to relax. The reception staff were friendly and obliging but the cleaners need retraining. We have stayed at premier it’s in London quite a few times and and always happy with their standards .I doubt whether we will use one of these hotels outside of London again."
"The Ebbw Vale location is managed by a close-knit team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff who will do anything to make your stay more comfortable. I checked in after my mother passed away in a nearby hospital, and from the outset, the staff went above and beyond what I expected. They were compassionate and supportive, and provided me with comfortable accommodation. I would highly recommend this location, whatever your reason for staying is. Wonderful staff and a comfortable, quiet hotel. "
"This hotel is in a great position not far from Ebbw Vale town cenre and just up the road from the shopping centre of the garden festival, if you need to go further afield the train station is nearby. I found my room to be clean, warm, comfortable and quiet with good wifi connection. You can check in on line if you want to, i just checked in when i got to hotel no problems. All staff that i came in contact were friendly. "

"Me and my partner stayed here last week in the bridal suite, which all formed part of my engagement. The team were fantastic helping set up a special scene with flowers on the bed and lovely swan towels. The room itself is comfortable with a lovely AC, the bath is great and albeit a few loose connections and slow drainage of the shower the room was outstanding. The bed and linens are amazing quality. Me and my partner have stayed in 4 and 5 star rooms 2-3x the cost, this room is up there and at the price point is very impressive. I would really recommend it, we were also very impressed with the bar and restaurant, all round great venue."
"What a fabulous venue for our Wedding on the 25th Jan 2020. Alison and her team looked after us extremely well. The room was set up fantastically and the food was superb. All of the staff were very attentive with Alison ensuring all guests as well as ourselves were well looked after. Highly recommended as a venue for any would be Brides and Grooms."
"Excellent service under extraordinary circumstances, our supported people were flooded out of their home. The staff were polite, understanding of our guys individual needs and if this is their standard service (which I suspect it is) it is amazing. Our greatful thanks, cheers Sara and Chelsea and all the unsung heros and heroines"

1-2 Castle Street, Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, United Kingdom
"I stayed here for a business trip, there are not many hotels or inns in the area but I’m happy I chose the Cambrian Inn. The room was big - the family room with a king sized bed and also a double in it. The bathroom was basic but functional. The bed was super comfy and I slept well. There is no air con but 2 windows which cracked open was sufficient. The tv has freeview. The description of this hotel on tripadvisor says free breakfast but the rate we had did not include breakfast, which was ok as we knew this. We stayed on a Tuesday night and there was no noise at all from the pub downstairs. There is not much to do in the area and about 2-3 restaurants to choose from. Check in was at the pub bar and was quick and easy, pay upfront. Breakfast was made for us fresh, whatever we wanted. I chose scrambled egg on brown toast and it was lovely. "
"Really wanted to like this but the loud music was unbearable. Travelled as a family with 18 months old child. Oddly enough he slept through the live music, which was directly below us in the admittedly spacious room 3. It was a pity, because the music was good, and if we had not already been wrecked from the journey, and in need of an early night, we probably could have enjoyed it. It's just that there was no escape from it. After the live music it became more of a night club. Ear plugs were useless, as the sound reverberated through our bodies. I understand they need the music to bring in the punters but it is just not compatible with running a hotel in the same building. The kitchens were also out of order and so we couldn't eat there either. We had no option but to bail on our second night and stay elsewhere. Forfeiting the cost of our second night was more appealing than enduring a second night of music. Perhaps I should have done my research properly, but I hope this will serve useful to those doing theirs. A few saving graces were spacious room, large bed, double spaced high power shower and on the whole friendly staff, hence 2* not 1* review. "
"Visited for dinner today as moved to the area recently and after having a fab breakfast a few weeks back, we thought we’d try the roast. Very tasty and good selection of veg too. £12 for set three courses and couldn’t fault it. Service was brilliant too. Have been for a few nights out here with a nice atmosphere. Just a shame that food finishes serving at 6 but won’t stop us visiting again. "

Castle Street, Town, Merthyr Tydfil, United Kingdom
"I am a tourist guide who worked with a group of 55 French rugby fans who travelled to Wales for the Wales France rugby international match. They have asked me to submit this review on their behalf.'We stayed two nights at the Castle Hotel. An excellent hotel with 45 comfortable and spacious bedrooms, situated right in the town centre and surrounded by pubs and shops. Friendly staff who were always ready to help. An excellent dinner and great service.'"
"After booking online as according to website free breakfast with every booking and car park? The car park is on the street parking restrictions and double yellows, the free breakfast you get charged for in the morning, and if your super lucky they may have a bed in the room you book, the one in ours was totally wrecked our room was on 1st floor as after a telephone conversation between booking and arrival we needed to confirm the car park and access to room due to being disabled, but I'm one of these people who have the cheek to have a hidden disability and be under 50 we were offered a new room on our return on the 4th floor I cant use a lift and could only get to the room we were in with my partners help on the stairs, so I had to spend the night in the bath whole my partner took the chair, when we complained in the morning the free breakfast was honoured and a refund given for a drink at the bar the night before that we had been charged £20 for also a verbal apology for the attitude of the night staff also advised to call the management which I did and he thought it was very amusing that I could tell him I was disabled yet managed to get to the room on 1st floor, they had resolved my complaint with the offer of 4th floor room it was my fault if I refused it as if I can get up one flight of steps I can get up four, so unless your of sound body and dont mind the fact that the free wi fi isn't there the private car park isnt there also the free breakfast isnt there and in our case the bed wasnt there either then dont stay here they do not like customers who require more than a tick in the box"
"Our stay wasn't the best at the hotel. The room had a naan bread in one of the draws that was gone off, a can of soup and the kettle was dirty with old water left in there from the previous guest. Clearly the room wasn't cleaned to a high standard or even average standard that you would expect. Our TV didn't work for most of our stay, the bedside socket was badly cracked and not able to be used, only one of the mirror lights worked, part of the skirting board was cracked and coming off, the wiring in the bathroom was taped above the mirror and the light didn't work. Stained on the small seating area. Needs a good clean and to genuinely be decorated. I wouldn't recommend staying here and I certainly wouldn't be staying here again. One of the worst hotels I've ever been too. Staff was nice but didn't resolve our issues."

"Stayed here for 2 nights and it was just right. The check in was easy and staff friendly. We had dinner here the first night which was ok. The room was a decent size and the private facilities good. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans etc and there was plenty of room in the fridges. The bed was comfy and the rooms were clean. "
"I've never been disappointed with any of the YHA hostels I've stayed in and this was no exception. Somehow, they perfectly balance professionalism and familiarity, comfort and adventure. The hostel staff especially were beyond helpful and lovely! "
" Great spot and a great hostel with welcoming staff It has easy access to mountain and town. Only self-catered but the breakfasts provided by hostel seem quite good. other hostellers all seemed happy and the games rooms was buzzing."

Rhymney House Hotel Rhymney Bridge, Rhymney, Caerphilly, United Kingdom
"Beautiful grade 2 listed property with some great original features and lots of character. Very welcoming and friendly people, very easy to talk to and were more than happy to help with anything. Food is well priced and well made. There is a great selection to choose from (as well as a good range of vegetarian dishes) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are a good size with private ensuite shower room and toilet, there is also a built in wardrobe. The room that we stayed in had a beautiful view of the river and surrounding hills. Definitely in need of a bit of a revamp and a bit of a touch up here and there but I have decided not to give a lover score as this did not affect our stay in any way and as it is a listed property I know that it is very difficult and expensive to replace certain features. We had a great night sleep even though one of us would occasionally roll onto the other side of the bed where there was a bit of a slope in the bed but didn't bother us too much at all. All in all would definitely go there again."
"Right around the corner from where I work I was looking for something cosy, warm and some character. Not to mention east parking so I gave Rhymney hotel a go. Sure the building is old and some parts show it BUT a warm welcome was there despite the owners being in the middle of a big “do”. The room is basic but warm and clean. Maybe a little touch up here and there yet given the price, location, warm room and decent shower you can’t complain. Primarily i chose somewhere local so I could get food and not have to drive somewhere and I wasn’t disappointed. Order the game pie and, if that’s your thing, you won’t be disappointed. "
"Honestly cannot say enough about how lovely this place was. Very homely, down to earth and a proper pub! Lovely staff & friendly locals! Brilliant food! All freshly prepared, proper home cooked food and the menu is huge!!! Probably the most attentive hotel I have ever stayed in, nothing was too much trouble! We definitely want to come back!!"
