Rarely leave reviews. This place deserves it. It was all so perfect for a couples weekend. Pool and deck was gorgeous with great views. The hotel is close to all downtown. Every sitting area throughout the hotel was done to perfection. You can spend a full weekend just in this hotel and it’s amenities if you wanted. The club room was an added bonus with great service. When they didn’t have the drink I wanted at the club bar, Dan went out and got it for me. 5 star service and hotel.

Don't even think about staying anywhere else. Come to the Charleston Place to experience the best of Charleston's history and eloquent hospitality of today. The bikes are always available for you to jump on and ride around town. The staff is beyond incredible to make your stay the absolute best too.

I stayed here on a girl's trip to Charleston and was also able to use American Express points which was a bonus. (It was a LOT of points but the nightly room rate was quite high so I expected that). The hotel is beautiful, quiet but cool vibe, very understated. My room, while small, was quiet, well appointed (gorgeous chandelier) and the bed was SO comfortable. One thing I thought strange was that there were no in room coffee or espresso options. They did have a morning coffee self service stand in the lobby which was fine. There were also no places to grab a quick bite to eat to take on the go which would have been convenient. Two of the mornings I was there I didn't have time to either order room service or go sit in the lounge to order breakfast so I ended up eating a granola bar that I had with me since I was meeting people for other activities. The service across the board was excellent. The views from the Citrus Club were beautiful although service there seemed to be way too slow and the whole key card/wait for entry didn't quite seem necessary as we had to wait twenty minutes to get up there and found it 50% full (maybe a staffing issue?). Regardless, it is a lovely hotel, a block off of King Street. I would definitely stay here again.

The Dewberry was fantastic. Great place to stay — very comfortable and chic accommodations! From valet to seamless check-in, they know what they’re doing and offered a Covid-safe and classy, fun experience. Location is steps away from Meeting St and all downtown bars and shops, but you don’t even have to leave the hotel to enjoy dinner or drinks in any of the popular spots built in. Valet and in-room bar are overpriced but the staff was great and for a premium, it’s worth it.

When we arrived at the hotel and checked in. We enquired about the breakfast which was included in the booking. We were suprised to find out that there wasn't actually a breakfast. You got this card, and every morning you could pick out one item out of their ”supermarket”. The ”supermarket” was basically a minifridge and freezer, and a couple of shelves. Here you could find little cups of icecream, frozen minipizza, water, cola, and things like crisps and m&m's. This is hardly a breakfast. And you could only take one item, not even a drink and a snack. We said that this was not what we expected when we made the booking with breakfast included.
The receptionist didn't even apologize just stated that the information on the website was old from 2021 and that they hadn't gotten around to changing it.
We decided on this hotel because the breakfast was included. It was a pretty expensive booking. With over 400 dollars per night you would expect at least and nice breakfast or apologies and compensation.
At the end we just took a bottle of water in the morning and had breakfast elsewhere.

Everything was wonderful. The room was clean and inviting the bed was comfortable. The staff was so friendly every single person we encountered. They were kind helpful. Everything was perfect in this stay. We love the proximity to everything downtown the comfort of the food, the snacks throughout the day in the parlor. could not have asked for a better experience. Looking forward to going again.

Absolutely loved my stay at Planters Inn! The bed was pure comfort, pillows were perfect....as was every detail from the delicious coconut cake to the live rose in the bathroom! I will definitely be back because the hospitality was impeccable! Special thanks to Bankston Harvard, Reservation Manager, who helped ensure our reservation details were all set.

This is an older property that clearly used to be majestic. Today the frame is there but a lack of maintenance shows. The staff were very good. They also have a 24 hour valet. My room had nice high quality furniture - not the cheap crap see in most hotels today. But the carpets were old and dirty, the paint is worn and cracked, and there was mold in the bathroom. The A/C was ok - not great but ok. The room felt humid. But it was very quiet with no street noise or hallway noise. They serve a decent breakfast. The location on Market St is close enough to the action to explain the rates. If this property was out by the airport it would be $59/night. Overall, if being on Market St is important then it's fine. But if a clean and shiny hotel is important this isn't the place. Bottom line, I'd stay here again if I needed to be in the area. Mostly because of location and staff. Without that I wouldn't return.
