Top 10 Pocitos Hotels

A hotel in the New Town is 6,7 km from the bus station and the old city. The hotel is nice but the main attraction is in the old town.

We were two couples who stayed here for 3 nights during our first trip to Montevideo. I booked directly with the hotel (which I always recommend) and overall service was great. Emmanuel and Nelson help to organize tours, dinner reservations and recommendations for vineyard visits. Hotel has a great location in Old Town, so walking distance to most of the places you will visit. A big disappointment was that there was no Nespresso machine in our room. In 2023, this is now almost standard and for sure must be expected in a “boutique hotel”. Another negative was that there was no bar at this hotel to enjoy an evening cocktail or beer. Overall a very nice hotel some some room for improvement.

This hotel is very nice

I came to this hotel after switching from of an extremely historic boutique hotel (aka old and smelled of dust) that my travel agent put me in. This hotel had everything you would expect from a boutique hotel. The hotel has a nice vibe, friendly staff, in a trendy, safe neighborhood, rooms done mid-century modern and with many modern and thoughtful amenities. They have those fancy toto bidets, outlets everywhere, good water pressure and beautiful views of the beach from your bed. The only thing missing was being able to open and close the curtains from the push of a button. The breakfast is plentiful with a good selection of breads, fruits and yogurts and a few hot dishes. They have many restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride away.

Aloft Montevideo Hotel is non-smoking and located in Punta Carretas. At walking distance you find Plaza Independencia, La Rambla seafront and a large shopping mall. Claimed as a vibrant design-forward hotel, Aloft is not more than an upgraded youth hostel. Staffs are friendly. Built in 2017 the hotel offers 183 rooms over 15 floors. The hotel has a roof-top lounge. In the lobby you find a bar, pool table, huge flat-creek TV with semi-artistic nonsense films, and a simple restaurant. Our practical room was adequately decorated and furnished, with a good double bed. The room had a desk & chair, wardrobe with ironing facility and TV on the wall. In the open bathroom is a wardrobe & safe, washbasin & mini-fridge, toilet and shower. Windows can be opened in safety mode. Free Wi-Fi Internet and complimentary bottle of mineral water in the room. No coffee & tea facility. All was clean. The buffet breakfast is OK with ample variety. When you like to stay at an overpriced, upgraded youth hostel, Aloft is the place for you. Nearby you find better options.

Amazing hotel. Staff is excellent. Helped me with early check in, recommendations and everything. They remember your name and make you feel welcome The hotel has an amazing history. Beautiful views of the beach and close to airport (away from busy city center)

The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. The only thing I would have to comment on the improvement would be to deliver more access keys for the outside for if one goes out at night and that when you arrived at the piece the first day there was a smell of moisture m, but when ventilating a bit he went.
