I stayed here for a couple of days rest whilst walking the Camino Portuguese costal route Excellent traditional building, very comfortable, excellent food and service. Parador de Pontevedra provides great selection of regional food and wine in their restaurants.

A disappointment, the magnificent location, the environment, the common spaces in the same line, the abundant and quality breakfast, but the rooms very, very, very below expectations, a lot of noise, old, not even a bottle of water courtesy or a kettle to drink an infusion that is in any hotel, uncorked walls next to the window and dirty ... well below a hotel of the same category, I expected much more. It would not be bad to improve the quality of the rooms because the price is charged as if they were up to date

A group of 13 of us stayed here one night and it was one of my favorite stops along the Camino De Santiago. Just right up the hill outside Padrón. You pass by a beautiful church on the walk up there. The landscape is meticulous and gorgeous. The pool was so refreshing after a long day of waking from Caldas de Reis. Cold water felt very good on our sore feet and bodies. It’s a very quite place, so relaxing and calm. Exactly what our group needed after 7ish days of walking. Carmen (she is the manager I think) was very friendly and accommodating. Brush up on your Spanish because her English is limited, she is so sweet and helpful. There is wine available to purchase and we enjoyed a bottle of white by the pool. Carmen and her team made a delicious dinner. Traditional Paella and vegetarian paella to accommodate some people in our group. The rooms were amazing. We had a cute balcony on the second floor and slept with the doors open. There is air conditioning in the rooms which was delightful when we checked in until the temp outside cooled down. The beds were so soft! Typically European beds are on the firm side but these beds were soft and I slept my best of the whole trip that night. I would go back to Casa Antiga in a heartbeat! The bedrooms were very comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. They include a small kitchenette with fridge and coffee making facilities. The spa facilities were also excellent. I’ve never seen so many hydrotherapy jets and jacuzzis in one hotel. We enjoyed the sound bath, massages and floatarium. There was a daily programme of wellness activities including yoga, Pilates, sound baths etc. The staff on reception were excellent, with an efficient and friendly check in / check out. The buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot, cold and wellness breakfast items. The major downside was the restaurant and bar service. There were very few staff available to serve food and drinks, so dinner service was incredibly slow despite the best efforts of the waiters / waitresses. It is a short 10 minute walk to the restaurants in town so we found this was a reliable alternative option for speedy service and a wider menu. There are restrictions around pool access for children. Accommodation in building 2 has a large pool that is accessible to 5-12 year olds. In building 1, there is a small unheated pool for 5-12 year olds (very cold water even in mid August) and an aqua play area for small children. The other pools in building 1 are exclusively for over 12s. Building 2 is better for families as it also houses the kids club, but the differences between the two buildings weren’t clear when we booked. The styling at the hotel is eclectic. It has a unique maximalist style with an incredible array of colourful props and lighting styles in every space of the hotel. We found it fun, but not a hotel for minimalists. The Augusta is primarily a spa with excellent accommodation. If it can improve its food and drink offerings, it would truly deliver on its ‘relax’ promise. More broadly, Sanxenxo has a lovely beach and lively seafront with lots of restaurants and ice cream shops.

First class hotel. Have been before and would go again. A Spanish resort so would not expect to have an English TV channel or non-robusta coffee but would be nice!!! All the staff were very friendly, helpful and made us very welcome. Hotel prices were pretty good considering this is a 4 star hotel.
