Lovely hotel. Great location near river and festival precinct. Club lounge provided great breakfast options and evening canapes and drink selection were very generous ( enough to replace dinner on at least one occasion).

I was looking for a touch of special to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. So I booked a room with a river view because I thought that would be nice to wake up to. Well, when we arrived, we had been upgraded to a 'suite'! We were blown away at this room, wall to ceiling views, dining room, bath, balcony. 'Pretty woman' eat your heart out. We didn't dine there as it was a Sunday night and not all of them were open but the facilities looked good. Staff were very professional and friendly at check in and check out. Very little surprises me these days. but EOS did. Thank you very much for exceeding our expectations and giving us an experience we will cherish forever.

This is a hotel recommended by local Australian friends. The hotel front desk is in the basement. The location is excellent. There are casinos and front desk services. This hotel is a top hotel in Adelaide. The space is super large, the facilities are also very modern, automated. The TV is accidentally turned on and there are small movies. Suitable for couples to live. Silently closed it. There are many restaurants around, recommend fish bank , K2W ... praise. When checking out, the concierge helped to call a taxi and put the luggage on the car.

It was a really good hotel and the location was so comfortable, but if you have a car, it's a light. There is no parking lot in the hotel and it costs 25 dollars a day to use the opposite parking building.

Great location and great service. Roof top bar is a must for some amazing drinks and views of the city. Comp mini bar is a great addition in a competitive market. Will be back :)

The room is very comfortable and beautifully finished. The blinds automatically open and the tv turns on when you first step into the room which is pretty cool. The bed was very comfy and the rain head shower was also wonderful. Service was excellent! We enjoyed a small upgrade and a complimentary bottle of bubbles with a hand written note as it was our anniversary - a lovely touch. Floor to ceiling windows throughout the hotel make for a good view no matter where you are. The view of the oval from the bar/restaurant is quite nice while we enjoyed a drink or 2. We'll be back!

I spent two nights here whilst on business in Adelaide. The Oval Hotel is part of the Adelaide Oval complex and is beautifully appointed. Check-in was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I had a studio room- very comfortable and perfectly set up. Super comfortable bed and the room was beautifully appointed. A corner room with floor-to-ceiling windows provided great views. Service was flawless. Great location and a short scenic walk into the CBD. Looking forward to a return visit.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We stayed in this hotel for a week during July and overall had a good experience. We found the hotel was very well located for our needs, notably a hire car outlet across the road, the travelers clinic (for PCR testing) 2 minutes down the road and many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The room we were ultimately stayed was on the 20th floor which provided a great view of the foothills of the city. The room was smallish, but was clean, modern and well appointed with all the features one would expect in a hotel of this price range. We had a couple of issues with check-in because we had inadvertently booked a ”king accessible” room which is for persons of limited mobility, which we did not need. We were offered a change if we paid an extra AUD 20 per night which we refused and so then we were given a free ”upgrade” (as it was explained to us) to a room on a lower floor which turned out to have a door adjoining it to the room next door. We could hear everything that was going on in that room and so after 5 minutes we were back at reception asking for a quiet room. Dealing with a different check-in person we were given a nice quiet room on the 20th floor. My main advice from this experience is do not accept a room with an adjoining door, the sound proofing is terrible. Aside from this initial check in issue our stay was hassle free and very enjoyable. We would certainly consider staying here again when next we visit Adelaide.

Do NOT GO to the restaurant, Koomo, on the 10th floor for dinner. The worst service we have had in any Crowne Plaza, or in any restaurant in Adelaide, and the most incompetent management to fix a very trivial issue. Last night my wife and I had booked a table for 6 people - two clients and two colleagues from Sydney and Perth.  The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. There were only 2 waitresses working in the restaurant, and it took us more than half an hour to be given menus, and a wine order to be taken.  It took another 20 minutes, after asking many times, for our food order to be taken. Two of our guests ordered a la carte from the menu,  and the other four wanted to try the ”tasting menu” - more expensive than the al la carte menu, with various preset courses. This is where things really started to go wrong. The tasting menu consisted of a choice between beef and chicken. Three people wanted beef and the other person wanted chicken. We were told by the waitress that the kitchen would not cook only one chicken for one person, and that two people would have to have this - in other words the four people could be served either all beef, or 2 chicken + 2 beef, but not 1 chicken and 3 beef. We really thought the waitress was joking, but realised she was serious. We asked her, very politely, if she could have a word with the kitchen and try to arrange this ”difficult” request. Some 15 minutes later the waitress returned and told us that it was not possible and the kitchen was not prepared to cook only one portion of chicken - it must be two portions and somebody else in our group wanting beef should cancel his beef and eat chicken instead. We asked to see the manager to see if he could sort this out, and very clearly told the waitress that if we could not get the food we wanted from the menu, then we would leave and go to another restaurant. No manager came to see us, but the waitress returned and told us that she had discussed with the manager and that the kitchen still refused to cook only one portion of chicken. We were not impressed. We paid the bill for the wine,  put on our coats and left the restaurant. As we were leaving someone from management (hotel or restaurant?) came to us and asked if we could reconsider and stay, and he would ”try” and convince the kitchen. Too late - our first experience of trying the Koomo restaurant had already been spoiled - poor service from the beginning and no feeling whatsoever for handling customers, and not any attempt to fix the very minor point of what we wanted to order by the management, until we were actually leaving.  I do not blame the waitress - she was caught in the middle with no support from the kitchen staff or the management. This is absolutely a management issue - one of making sure that all staff are trying their best to give good service to their customers, especially if the restaurant is selling itself as a high end one. Needless to say none of the six of us will go back,  and a

We had a fabulous time at this hotel, travelled as a family with one teenager. We had a Junior Suite with an extra bed. Positives: - Lovely staff and service at reception. We arrived early in the morning and were offered complementary early check-in at midday. This often gets mentioned, but not many places make a genuine effort to make it happen, even far pricier hotels. - Liked the design - cheerful, retro touches, nice vibe. - The Junior Suites are lovely, with a separate bedroom and some balcony space. - Decent gym and swimming pool. They say it’s heated on their website. Not particularly, when we tried it. - Location: Very central, easy to walk to the town centre. Opposite the central market which is fun to visit. - I think the pricing is fair for Australia, given the space, location and service. Potential room for improvement: - Not much given the price category. We were not keen on the breakfast. It was part of the rate, but not the quality we would expect. On the other hand, do I want to pay twice the room rate to get a better breakfast or perhaps just go the outstanding cafe next to the hotel (Market St). We had breakfast at Market St, Crack Café round the corner and once at the market. - The bath tub works with the space constraints. Not much of a problem for us as we are short, but for a tall person it only allows a sort of half seated bath. We have previously stayed at a Sofitel in Adelaide, and much prefer Indigo. Will probably stay there again.

Recently stayed here, in a suite on 14th Floor. Great location in the middle of Adelaide. Nicely themed hotel, room very comfortable. Beds and pillows the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. Rooftop bar is great, but book ahead as it is very popular. Plenty of nearby dining options and food in the hotel is great as well. Will definitely be back....

The one-bedroom suite is booked, but I actually stayed in a 2-bedroom suite with a large balcony and a picturesque view. Although not in the urban area, the traffic is quite convenient, and you can get there by taking a bus from the city. There are woolworths supermarkets around. There is a washing and drying machine in the suite, the kitchen has a pot and bowl cutlery dishwasher, an electric cooker and an oven range hood, but there is no oil and salt sauce vinegar seasoning, no chopping board, no chopsticks, if you want to cook yourself, you need yourself. Buy, chopping board I asked the front desk to borrow, but it is not expected. Disposable slippers can ask the front desk, the quality is quite good. In short, very satisfied with the comfortable and cost-effective hotel.

Have stayed in Adelaide many times for both business and holiday, and this hotel now will be my first choice. Great rooms and facilities, views, location, parking . Hotel restaurants are the best and great staff who are all friendly and go out of their way to help. You just dont get all that these days. Well done to all.

The Lakes Hotel has a scenic and convenient location. The facilities are excellent there's a popular family restaurant. The rooms are clean, modern and well appointed. We encountered a few minor glitches - the TV didn't work but was quickly repaired; someone had set the alarm to go off at midnight... really? I guess the power blackout wasn't the hotel's fault. Overall, a good hotel - just be prepared for some glitches...
