Warren Hills Road Coalville, Coalville, Leicestershire, United Kingdom
"My Husband booked a night away here for my birthday during our travels around Europe and the UK. On pulling up to Abbots Oak I was drawn in by the beauty of the home and it's surrounds. Our welcome was warm and we were immediatley shown to our beautiful suite. During our stay, our hosts Anthony and Sarah, were wonderful and really made us feel welcome and relaxed. Anthony is a fountain of knowledge about the history of the home and local area, which both my husband and I really appreciated, and feel that it's a real asset to have hosts who are so passionate about history and the like. Was wonderful to be able to access the top of the tower and take in the beautiful countryside. The patio area is a beautiful spot to sample some truly delicious local Gins, and a stroll around the gardens and forest really made us feel like we were a world away. We were very impressed with the food we were served at both dinner and breakfast was delicious and well though out, Sarah made the BEST vegan Chilli I've ever had, and we really appreciated that they were able to provide us with amazing vegan options. The wild mushrooms at breakfast were cooked to perfection! Our next visit to the UK will definitely include another stay here, and we've already started raving about the place to our family and friends who live in Leicestershire and surrounds. "
"Abbots Oak Manor is a beautiful property in the process of gradual renovation, set in lovely grounds. We stayed for just one night in Room 2 (Snowdrop Room) and after seeing the interiors on the hotel website we were looking forward to a chance to relax in luxurious surroundings. On arrival at our room however we were very surprised to find that the ensuite facilities open directly into the bedroom. This lack of privacy when using the loo may be okay for some visitors but it wasn't for us. I felt it was a feature of which we should have been made aware prior to booking. We were also disappointed by a complete lack of storage space for clothing - no wardrobe, drawers or hanging space but just one plastic clothes hanger on the back of the bedroom door. I returned to Reception to ask if we could move to a different room but was informed that the hotel was fully booked and no alternative room available. The member of staff also expressed surprise that we objected to the open-plan bedroom/bathroom arrangement and said that nobody else had ever raised any concerns about it. Is it only me!! The hotel has great potential and I would like to think that the room's shortcomings would be addressed by its charming and attentive owners."
"My parents gifted my partner and I a night here as a Christmas present and it was wonderful. Beautiful building with lovely rooms. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel at home. The food was easily the best I have ever eaten and if you are there in the winter, the baked Camembert is a must! All and all, a perfect night. "

"Well I don't really know what to say. I found this little gem by accident and what a find. On arriving we were met with wonderful friendly staff. We had a beautiful room in wonderful settings even though storm Dennis was raising havoc outside, inside was lovely. We had booked for a valentine's dinner and wow the food was amazing, the service was second to none. Great nights sleep and then a most wonderful breakfast and at this point I have to mention owen the waiter who was excellent, calm under pressure and so very friendly. We stayed for two nights and didn't want to leave. Thank you to all at the priest house and I must mention Lauren, reception and TV technician. Great job guys x"
"I stayed at the Priest House Hotel for 1 night on a buisness trip. After several intensive storms the River Trent had burst its banks and covered the car park. However the hotel itself and cottages were all dry. From arrival to departure all the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. My only regret is that I only stayed for one night. After my evening meal I the probably had the best Cheesecake dessert I have ever had. For the first time ever I photographed a plate of food as it was truly impressive to look at, and even better to eat. I hope to return again and ignore the main meal options and just work through the desserts. I think it snowed / sleeted during the night but my room warm and comfortable. "
" Hi, I have to write this, I parked my car at your hotel, stayed for one night because of flying out early morning, well thank god, I gave you my car keys or I would of lost it,, I telephoned whilst on holiday, worried about storm Dennis, because of your very close proximity to the river trent, and god bless you all, you moved my car and everyone elses cars to higher ground, on our return the river had burst its banks and flooded everywhere,, shame such a lovely hotel and setting, brilliant staff to,, many thanks DB"

"Down (from Aberdeen) these parts for first time. Hogmanay wedding tomorrow. We were told to visit Melbourne. We did and found this pub/restaurant. Superb meal. Staff rushed ragged as 2 off sick but still friendly service. Great food. Best rice pudding ever. Highly recommend."
"Visited this lovely pub during our short stay in Melbourne. Found this beautifully decorated and friendly pub just a short walk from where we were staying. Superb food and the host Sophie was excellent and very knowledge and helpful. Would definitely recommend"
"The food was all very good and our waitress was lovely, but after she left at 10 unfortunately the service went downhill, the staff were too busy in private conversations or gazing at the computer screen and then to add insult to injury they started stacking chairs on tables, it was like sitting in a forest surrounded by chair legs finishing our tea and coffee. There were plenty of people still in the bar but we were the only table left occupied in the restaurant by then, but their attitude did not make us feel like staying for another drink."

Loughborough University, Ashby Road Entrance (A512), Loughborough, Leicestershire, United Kingdom
"The hotel is near the school library, leaving for 4 years, everything is still the same, super feelings. The attitude at the front desk is very good. After all, it is a school guest house, especially sincere. Parking is free! ! Very suitable for self-driving overnight! Ctrip’s executive room has a long way to go from the reception, and dragging the box to go over the sound is quite big. The room is very new, giving a lot of small biscuits chocolate, very warm."
"I went back to the school to attend the graduation ceremony, so I booked this hotel in the school. It is clean, the breakfast is very rich, quiet, the receptionist and the cleaning staff are very nice. Like the heating, you can adjust the temperature yourself, it is very good for me who is afraid of cold."
"I went to see a child studying at Loughborough University. I saw this hotel on Ctrip. I placed an order directly. I was a little worried. I didn't expect everything would be convenient after I arrived. Then I continued to stay for another day."

"We went for lunch on a Tuesday, the place was empty, only one other couple came whilst we were there but didn't stay long. We were given a menu but the prices were very expensive for lunchtime but then the lunchtime board was pointed out to us. We decided on roast pork dinner at £7.95. It didn't take long to come - should have told us something!! Didn't like the fact that the gravy had been poured all over and not in a separate jug and it was only luke warm like the rest of the dinner. Nothing tasty about it at all - it tasted like Sunday lunch leftovers warmed up but I may be wrong! With a couple of cokes the bill was nearly £20. Most lunches we have come to less than £15 for the two of us. On a positive note the place was very clean but don't think we will go again."
"Well what a fantastic time we are visiting friends in Swadlincote they took us out to one of there local restaurants and it was here what a fabulous meal meet by the landlord who couldn't of been any friendlier the food was fabulous and one totally outstanding member of staff charly what a fabulous personality she was amazing made our night well done young lady you will go a long way you are a totally credit to the business thank you all for a fantastic time looking forward to seeing you all again 😀 "
"We absolutely love it here, the food is amazing here lovely and hot and great value. £50 for sunday dinner and puddings and drinks for a family of four is amazing and no washing up. Bev and Doug are so friendly, chatty and make you feel at home. The pub is spotlessly clean. We return time and time again and will do for many years to come. Xx "

"Good clean rooms, restaurant area was clean and tidy. Breakfast was very slow, however, I gather the chef was having some issues so being kept up to date was better than radio silence, even if it was 1 hour from ordering to getting breakfast, thank goodness for the continental to tie us over. Would stay here again, yes. Rooms quiet and comfortable. Check in was very easy and the ladies at reception were lovely."
"Good location, friendly staff, clean rooms. Cooked breakfast was just ok, ordered an omelette which tasted a bit burned and sausages were split like they’d been in a deep fat fryer. Parking sufficient and secure. Would stay again. "
"Good bed, room and staff but the evening meals in particular lacked sparkle and one meal had bits in the chips and under cooked eggs. Overall not a bad for a brief stay but no longer. I will be using Premier Inn as first choice for such purposes."

"Stayed at the Royal Oak with my husband for my 40th birthday treat. The Friday night date night is amazing value for money, and includes a bottle of Prosecco on arrival, 3 course dinner with a bottle of house wine, an overnight stay and breakfast, all for £150. With no spend limit on your dinner it essentially means the nights accommodation is almost free! We arrived just before 4pm, checked in and were straight the way impressed with the room. The food was amazing at both dinner and breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. If I had to have a criticism it would be that the room was really hot throughout the night. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely visit the Royal Oak again in the near future!"
"Stayed for one night, it’s a lovely pub with 12 rooms to the rear of the property, all accessed from the car parking area and on ground floor level. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with a modern bathroom and lovely walk in shower. Our only niggle was that the room was advertised as having an extra large double bed and we had a king sized not a superking sized. It was also very hot in the room overnight even though we opened the windows, and the heavy duvet was too much. We ate in the restaurant and had a delicious meal with friendly and attentive staff who provided a great service even during the current Covid-19 restrictions. Breakfast was also tasty and plentiful. We would return if in the location again."
"Stayed over for one night last night- 2 rooms , both our rooms were very clean and spacious - lovely comfortable bed and crisp bed linen. Plenty of clean towels and toiletries provided . Warm welcome from the owner. Breakfast lovely ( full English with good quality produce and I enjoyed the avocado and poached egg on toast, with a slice of bacon!) and again staff very friendly and attentive. Thank you, highly recommend and hope if we visit again to sample the evening meal ( the bar was very busy but again very friendly) "
