"We had a wonderful time. We stayed from Friday until Sunday. They allowed a last minute late checkout with no hesitation. The staff was very friendly and caring staff members. The hotel was absolutely amazingly clean. We will visit again soon with our children."
"Location is absolutely amazing for families, cute streets, great restaurant options, and a close Target is always helpful close by! Hotel is not luxury, but very appropriate and comfortable for families who appreciate the kitchen and sofa setup."
"The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It had a kitchen with stove ,a microwave, and couch area where you can watch tv either in bed or the sitting area.I like the walk in shower.I felt like i was at home."

"Lovely location and grounds, surrounded by tall trees and a scenic pond. Nice paved walking trail around the waters edge. The rooms were fantastically clean and classically luxurious. Housekeeping was outstanding. Turndown service, one of the best I have ever had in the United States. The restaurants serve delicious meals, we were very impressed with the food quality. One thing to be aware of is the hotel has a very formal atmosphere. There are dress codes for dinner and a rather hushed feel around the lobby and other public areas. Also, during the weekend that we were there, they would not let guests use the spa facilities unless they paid over $150 for a spa treatment. This was very unwelcoming and disappointing, being a guest who had traveled far to be at this hotel. Plus because it was winter the outdoor pool was shut and so the hotel activities felt very limited. One thing to be aware of, you are quite far way from civilization. Luckily we enjoy nature and welcomed the all natural location and respite from city life. "
"I have family in the Raleigh area so I visit a few times a year. The Umstead is by far my favorite hotel in the area, so much so that I have rescheduled trips around its availability. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and up to date. The service is professional but friendly and accessible. Most importantly for me, one of my family members has numerous life threatening food allergies. We had a great breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the staff did an excellent job accommodating his allergies and keeping him safe. Thanks to everyone at The Umstead for another excellent experience all around."
"Attended a friends wedding at the Umstead which was beautiful. And since they had a block of rooms decided to stay. The room was spotless and being a germaphobe clean freak it’s passed my high standards. The bed was very comfortable and room relaxing for the time I spent in the room. I think someone should show quests how to use certain amenities like the iPads in the room to control things. The valet guys were very friendly. And the Sunday check out front desk girl was nice as well. "

"We stayed at this hotel for one night in the middle of a lengthy trip. It is during the Covid-19 pandemic, so things were a little different than usual I assume. Nonetheless, I felt they did a good job with social distancing and keeping the area clean. There were hand sanitizers properly placed over the property. While it was just an overnight stay, we were not disappointed. The property is located I the center of the North Hills Mall area. There were plenty of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. In fact, after we dropped off our bags, we went for a nice walk and dined close by. The room was nice and quiet and gave us plenty of space. The bathroom was nice as well. For some reason, when the designed the hotel, they did not give king size rooms balconies. That would have been a nice touch. Overall, it is a nice place to stay in the Raleigh area."
"This is the first time I’ve ever done a staycation. My wife decided that since we wouldn’t be together for our anniversary next month, we would try this. Check in was cool. The front desk manager was very polite, professional & welcoming. Our room was on one of the top floors with a really nice view. There was a bit of a letdown for my wife who thinks that the room wasn’t throughly cleaned because she found a bottle top on the bathroom counter. And their was some kind of stain on one of the towels. Also, we didn’t understand why our room wasn’t cleaned after we went out for the day(it wasn’t until we got home that we realized they don’t clean rooms until after guests checkout as part of Covid protocols). Aside from the minor detail lapses it was a pleasant stay. We will return."
"We had the opportunity to stay at your property last week. I want to commend Sean for his outstanding service. Our plans were somewhat fluid, and Sean was exceptionally helpful and flexible as our plans changed. He was very welcoming and friendly, but of course very professional at the same time. He also reached out to us personally when a wallet was left in her room, instead of waiting for us to contact the hotel."

"I rented rooms for several couples. Their experience was everything I wanted it to be form my friends. The Mayton is a class act, no doubt. Everything from the arrival, the rooms, drinks and appetizers in the bar, customer service.....I could not have asked for their experience to have been any better. Thank you staff and management! Beth A. Wood, North Carolina State Auditor"
"The Mayton is in a prime location for enjoying all downtown Cary has to offer. There is a ton of places to eat and drink all within walking distance. The library, a nice park, and cinema are all within walking distance too, so there's plenty to do. Our room was comfortable, beautiful, and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, which made our stay fantastic! "
"The Mayton is a lovely property with the feel of a large estate that you have been invited to! Well appointed rooms, the BEST sheets ( I purchased some I love them so much!) and great bathrooms. Easy parking, no valet needed, and very nice staff! Go! Relaxing walks all around and dining in house within walking distance. "

"I like the vibe for AC Hotels. They do away with the conventional rooms with the conventional setups and instead try for something more with a more contemporary/modern flair. That said, it may not work for everybody. The hotel isn't very large, just 7 floors. The 7th floor has a number of amenities including a roof top bar/restaurant including an outdoor/open-air portion with views over North Hills. As the building is shorter than the others, you mostly see the adjacent buildings as well as the 7th floor of the parking structure (more on this later). Breakfast is served here, although if you tire of it, you can walk about 3 minutes to the Broken Egg Cafe. The rooms are nice enough and average in size. Flooring instead of carpeting which is unusual in a hotel but I'm sure are much easier to clean and maintain. The beds were comfortable. They provide a large flat-screen smart TV with access to streaming services. The hotel provided free access to HBO Go and Showtime, although you could theoretically enter your credentials to get access to your own streaming accounts. The rooms seemed well-insulated, no issues with noise or anything. You can park for free in the building across the tiny street in front of the hotel. Just get the pass to display on your dashboard from registration first. Alternatively, you can pay $22 for valet parking. While I don't understand why anyone pays for that, there were one or two valets there at all hours so I guess the service must get used. The front desk people and valets were always friendly, often opening the door for us. The immediate area has lots of restaurants -- check out CO adjacent to the hotel for asian-inspired food, or Rosewater Kitchen which is 45 seconds away by foot. You can walk to the main shopping area across Six Forks, although the lights are long. Alternatively, there's a free decorated shuttle that circles every 15 minutes during shopping hours between the three main North Hills areas. Overall, it was a great place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the action for North Hills."
"I read some of the reviews that mentioned some people didn't like the room set up or noise level from the bar, but we didn't find this to be an issue at all! We actually loved being in the mix and part of the best location in North Raleigh. Everything was within a 2-3 min. walk of shopping and some of the best restaurants in the city! The room was spacious, clean and had an awesome shower! If you worry about the noise level, request a room on floors 3-5. If you're on the 6th floor it may become an issue. Only area for improvement would be to place some trash cans in the lobby area and directly outside of the front entrance. We were noticing that when people wait in line for the rooftop bar (Level 7) outside, the people waiting had no where for trash disposal so there where cups and empty water bottles everywhere by the following morning. Not very appealing to folks staying on property. Other than that, it was an awesome stay. We'll be back again."
"Where to begin? The stay here was top notch all the way around! We got married on Saturday and drove up to stay the night before our flight the next morning and when I say the staff made the night even better. We called and spoke to Blake Moore who took care and set up everything for us. When we arrived at the hotel Eric was working the valet stand, he was so polite and helped us out tremendously. He parked our car at the front so we could easily get out to catch our early flight! On the inside the front desk staff was so helpful as well they got us checked in pretty quickly and when we got to our room Blake had set up a bottle of wine on ice and chocolates as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with the staff at this hotel and I highly recommend booking your stay here."

"The room was very like, the suite was very warm and at home. The kitchen also has complimentary popcorn, and the bathroom facilities are new and bright. The bed is bigger and the bed is very comfortable. The bedside socket is especially convenient for charging the phone. Recommended hotel."

"I stayed at this hotel last summer when I was visiting Raleigh for a weekend-long event at the city’s convention center across the street. I had an overall pleasant stay and here’s my full review/analysis of the property. Check-in/Lobby Area: As per usual for me luckily, check-in went very smoothly. The staff member who checked me in was very professional and extremely nice. He even gave me a paper highlighting certain things about the city of Raleigh which I appreciated. As for the rest of the lobby it was very beautiful. Lots of room which was good considering the event I was attending had a lot of people staying at this hotel and many of them were able to comfortably mingle in the lobby without problems. The lobby also features a restaurant/bar and a Starbucks. The Room: My room was on the 4th floor of the building (not on the top floor for once!!!). The room was very clean and well maintained. I only have a few complaints about the room overall and some on them can be seen as minor complaints for some people. 1. The mini fridge in my room was broken (or at least I think it was) because when I turned it on it never really got cold. 2. Soundproofing in this hotel isn’t all that great. It’s very easy to hear someone walking past your room and I was even able to hear the person in the room next to me talking to someone else pretty clearly through the wall. 3. Probably my biggest complaint about the room. There are no trash cans in the room or on my floor that I could find that had some kind of trash bag in it. First day I was there I went out and brought fast food back to my room for lunch. I ended up having to throw my trash from it away in a garbage can in the Starbucks down in the lobby. Rest of Hotel: I didn’t really explore this hotel much outside of the lobby and my room. However, the facilities such as the elevators worked perfectly fine with no maintenance issues. It also appears that this hotel offers car valet services as the had a little podium with some staff outside the front doors that looked like it was set up for that purpose. I couldn’t tell personally since I Uber’d to the hotel to and from the airport when I was there. Hotel Location: I don’t normally include a section about this but I feel this hotel’s location warrants one so here are some key points that I personally noted: 1. If you’re into tourism and want to see the NC Capital building, this hotel is only a few blocks away and easily within walking distance. 2. As I mentioned before it’s across the street from the convention center so I would highly recommend it if you’re coming to Raleigh for an event at the convention center. Overall it’s a great hotel and perfect if you’re traveling to Raleigh for a convention or general tourism of the city. Aside from my complaints about the room (which I personally think the hotel can fix a couple of them easily) it’s probably the hotel I would choose to stay at again if I ever find myself needing to return to Raleigh in the"
"I used Marriott points for an overnight stay in August, 2020. Check-in was seamless. The room I was given was clean and quiet, probably because there were only a few guests. The Fitness Center was closed, and the only restaurant in the hotel, the Rye Bar and Southern Kitchen, was only open at night. However, there is a Starbucks in the hotel lobby that is open until 2:00 p.m. Pros: Professional Employees, Excellent Service (2) disinfectant wipes in room (3) hand sanitizing stations all over public areas (4) face masks required (5) signs reminding guests to maintain a distance of 6 feet or 2 meters from others. (6) clean, quiet room Cons: (1) I found the hotel hard to find even with GPS, especially since the street in front of it was blocked because of anticipated protests (we later learned after we left that the protests resulted in vandalism, not to the hotel itself, but to other businesses in the city). We had to circle around the block several times after the GPS told us we had arrived. Luckily, I saw a "Marriott" sign and drove through an alley-looking street to get to the front of the hotel. (2) No valet parking Overall, though, I would recommend the hotel."
"We spent one night here for a dance competition at the convention center. The hotel was very accommodating. We arrived almost two hours early and were able to go to our room. They also extended our check out time by a few mins to fit with the dance schedule. The room and hotel was clean and beautiful. The convenience to the convention center was perfect for what we needed. A few surprises- the pool was extremely cold, the hot tub/spa was not working, breakfast buffet was nearly cold with very slow service, and we had an odd experience with valet taking over 20 mins to get our car when they couldn’t find the keys when we were trying to leave and go to dinner. "I scheduled a tour with The Director of Sales and Marketing because I was looking for a hotel for my friends and I to spend a weekend together since we’ve been cooped inside the house since the pandemic began. After touring the Courtyard Raleigh North, I can say with the utmost confidence that they are making their guests’ safety a priority. To begin with, they place hand sanitizer packages in every guest bathroom. The Director also informed me that no one enters your room during your entire stay. Instead, you have the option of having your items placed at your door in a plastic bag or you can pick them up at the front desk. Furthermore, the hotel has recently implemented an extra safety precaution which allows you to scan the QR code from the tv so you can use your personal phone as a tv remote. Simply put, there’s no need to touch the tv remote at all during your entire stay. The most impressive part of my tour was when I observed the General Manager using a disinfecting machine to sanitize the hotel lobby. He also uses the same device to sanitize each and every guest room. After touring the Courtyard Marriott Raleigh North, I didn’t even bother visiting any other hotels. Instead, I contacted my friends and assured them that I found the perfect location for our weekend getaway. In closing, thank you, Marriott, for making your guests’ safety and health a priority. In the future, I will encourage my colleagues to stay at this hotel when they visit the Raleigh area."
"Stayed at this hotel June 14-17 was absolutely pleased with the front-desk personnel and the cleanliness of rooms! Room/Bathroom were spotless upon entering. Bathroom was clean to a T. You must venture to the First-Watch for breakfast if you stay here! Quick 30sec drive.. Amazinggg food & service!! Will be staying here again for sure in the near future!!!"
"I was here for one night for business. The pros were as always there is a Starbucks. It does not open until 7am however. I always like the breakfast menu especially the egg white fritatta. Plenty to eat locally, in the same lot with Macaroni Grill and another chain. Staff was lovely and the lobby was very inviting to lounge or have a drink ( closed early). Room was clean, but noisy from outside and there was no way to control the heat which was way too hot. I found the linens to be very stiff and not fresh smelling but the bed was comfortable. Overall it was just fine, no real issues but nothing really stood out to me other than the lovely Christmas tree in the lobby, well done !"

"The hotel gets very noisy at night on weekends because people book it to go partying. In the week it’s better but you still get families in one room next to you that make a lot of noise. The room service charges are ridiculous "
