"I honestly don’t know where to start! From the moment I booked it was a great experience! We were staying for my partners birthday and it was all a surprise, I emailed the hotel to ask for some help on arranging a couple of surprises. Within 10 minutes I got a call from reception to see how they could help and what they could do to help, the gentleman on the phone recommended a restaurant to go to for my partners birthday dinner; which was LOVELY! I then arranged to have balloons and a cake delivered to the hotel before our check in and put in the room which was fab! All went to plan! We asked if it would be ok to have breakfast in our room on the morning of my partners birthday so he could open his presents as well, this wasn’t a problem at all! I then needed to get his presents into the hotel without him seeing, and before I could even ask for help, help was offered. Olivia on reception (I’m so sorry if I have your name wrong! We checked in on the 21st sept about 3pm) was beyond lovely! So friendly from the second we walked in, helpful, chatty, warm, friendly. I’ve been nervous of travelling in the current situation and here I had absolutely nothing to worry about! Everything was so clean and it smells incredible when you walk in! :) The style and the vibes of the hotel are just brill! We loved it and will be back time and time again! Thank you so much for helping make my partners birthday so perfect x"
"Sympathetically converted, this is a group of restored stone built buildings, with recent planting augmenting mature grounds. The rooms are all different, and at the highest end spectacular. Not a surprise that the owner is an interior designer. Front of house team and Management are extremely professional. At weekend the lively bar and breakfast area are also popular with non residents. The separate function rooms work well and can be divided or left open. Catering for 60, the quality and service remained high level. The restaurant is attentive, and for those in our group with dietary needs, they made a special effort with personalised courses. Their tasting menu and wine flight option took a small group of us on a delicious excursion. Recommend."
"We decided to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday with afternoon tea at Manor House and we were not disappointed with our choice. Everything was first class, including the service we received. They pitched their Covid response at the right level and we felt safe. We would definitely book again. I did enquire about NYE but they have not finalised what they are doing over the Festive Season; to be honest I can fully understand. Thank you"

"Absolutely fantastic! Me and my mum have had this booked for a few months thankfully a few days before we are due to go back in lockdown. Best decision we both have had a lovely time beautiful view outside, so many squirrels. Very peaceful, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We both had two spa treatments absolutely lush and the food just incredibly cannot thank them enough. The Picture does not do it justice. "
"I’m not going to repeat everything that has been said as it’s not changed. The location is lovely or could be. We stayed in the Nidderdale very big cabin in the woods lovely but no hooks to hang wet jackets store muddy boots as it rained all week, why doesn’t anyone check that plates cutlery scissors knives are there, easy things. The management must be terrible as the staff are shocking no customer service from the girls on reception bar staff to the restaurant. I asked for a nice walk with 2 young children and dog and was told to walk along the road to a car park then turn right, are you stupid!!! Lewis Hamilton was driving past at 90mph in the rain. We found at the corner of the hotel car park a trail which in the grounds ran parallel with the road to Chevin forest easy no roads. When on London tube I was told not to smile or speak to anyone or I would get stabbed or arrested . Well it’s the same here no craic manners humour.......,customer service nil Why am I only allowed to use the pool area early morning or 4.45 pm onwards because people are going to the spa sorry but I’m paying £700 for 3 nights get stuffed. Then again hot tubs out of order as the ph is wrong which I totally understand well done josh the only person who explained to people the reason, with the current staff josh will be manager within the week, he’s only been there a month. This place could be excellent but it won’t with the current staff and you can’t blame Covid-19 as the symptoms are not that you turn stupid."
" Far too many things to find wrong with this place and repeating what other reviewers have stated will not make it any better. I have been designing, building and working in and on hotels throughout the world for many years and this particular establishment is a prime example of how not to run one! The same faults and organisational problems are recurring on many reviews – so take heed and do not book in haste as your lowest expectations will be manifestly reached. Like others, we booked for three nights and could not stay beyond one and that because of the delay created in them finding us an alternative ‘upgraded’ room/lodge, which left us with no time, late at night, to find another hotel. The same complaint scenario can be seen over many revues to the extent that the repeated excuses given to unsuspecting clients and visitors is well practiced - and almost believable! The marketing photography does not reflect the true identity of the establishment and the services offered are a sham. From the two rooms we viewed the same poor standard is prominent. Chevron Country Park is tired, well-worn beyond its days, shabby, poorly managed and, depending, it would appear on unsuspecting and young inexperienced clientele for its income. Beware and do not rush into choosing this place - no matter how much you feel the need to get away for a break. "

"I never ever write reviews but now more than ever I think if a hotel or restaurant is doing something really brilliant then we need to shout about it! So here I am, shouting about the most delicious afternoon with my family bubble! Being Half Term it's been really hard to try and find fun and interesting things to do with the kids. We decided to pack up the car and do a bit of a 3 day road trip heading north. We also knew that if we did overnights in nice hotels, then we were still keeping to all the confusing rules. Our middle night was spent at Holdsworth House and it was just the best decision. We had an adjoining twin room for the kids (ages 6 and 8) and we had a split level suite which was such a treat and so well presented. We arrived in the afternoon as we'd promised the boys afternoon tea, they'd never had the proper thing before and having seen all the pictures I had a feeling it would be good. Well we weren't disappointed, it was DELICIOUS from the sandwiches to the scones to the cakes and the little pots of pumpkin mousse. I even had a glass of Prosecco to wash it all down with, it doesn't really get much better than that. After tea we wandered around the gorgeous grounds and took in some fresh Yorkshire air and then a lie down (and tv) before a wonderful dinner in the restaurant in front of the roaring open fire. The boys were determined not to miss breakfast and I'm so pleased we didn't. Pastries, juice, coffee and boiled eggs with soldiers was just what we needed to send us on our way. It was the loveliest stay and we felt safe and well looked after and the boys are all desperate to go back for more apple juice and cakes and to see Eric the hotel cat....who they wanted to bring home! I've probably written too much for my first review but there was lots to say! Thank you Holdsworth House and so pleased you're able to keep welcoming guests and giving us all a much needed escape from these strange times."
"A lovely hotel where we have stayed time and time again: however, despite being 'frequent fliers' here the staff would never think so! Check in was fine and the man on the desk was attentive and welcoming. He told us he would make us a reservation in the bar area so we could take along our dog. Arrived at the bar and saw only one table for 2 reserved by the fireplace. Asked the bartender if the reservation was for us, he immediately said 'no'. Didn't ask our name or say anything else. Ordered our drinks, which took ages for my G & T to arrive as he had no lemons. Eventually my drink came, with no apology for the delay. We decided to eat in the restaurant and you'd think the bar tender was a rabbit stuck in headlights. Eventually another young woman arrived and we asked her if there was a restaurant menu. She brought it to us. Please Holdsworth, a little more direction to aide the staff in how they should support guests with ordering in the bar for restaurant dining/ reserving a table in the restaurant for us. We eventually headed to the dining room independently and carried our drinks with us. We finished our main course and sat there for at least 30 minutes. Nobody asked us how the food was, if we would like more drinks or even if we would like a desert. We couldn't believe the sheer lack of attention and decided to return to our room. The bar tender was stood in the entrance chatting merrily away to one of the waitresses, completely in their own world and no desire to check out the restaurant with only 2 full tables. Their personal conversation was much more important than any client!! When he saw us he had the audacity to ask us if we would like desert!! Please!! My husband informed him that we had finished our meal 30 minutes ago and had been waiting, Holdsworth Hall, sort this out. Your bartender/ waiter was a huge let down to an establishment we have visited so many times. So much for being loyal customers for well over 16 years! Quite shocking and we deserve better!"
"I'd just like to say a special thank you to Tracey, Ryan , Theo , Dan , Jamie-Leigh , Ben , Will and Alex. You were all absolutely amazing and i can not thank you enough. Tracey was absolutely incredible and made me feel at ease when I was at my most anxious..any worries I had for the day she took care of without hesitation and the team went the extra mile. Claire our wedding manager was incredible and extremely organised , keeping us in the loop at every stage of the process. It was the perfect wedding for us and a day we will never forget! Definitely recommend this beautiful place and the staff are a credit to the hotel. ❤️"

"We originally visited the Shibden Mill Inn back in September 2019 and vowed to return after seeing the Sunday lunch being served. We recently returned in March 2020 and decided to stay again on the Saturday night so that we could also have breakfast and enjoy the local surroundings. It is not often that we return somewhere as we like to try new places but we will definitely be making this an annual trip in our calendar. Once again, we cannot fault our stay, a different room this time but again it was beautifully decorated, well equipped and we had a wonderful nights sleep. Waking up to hear the nearby stream and birds singing was delightful. We made use of the resident's lounge on the Saturday evening this time which was well stocked with board games and plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax. All of the staff provided an exemplary service despite being incredibly busy. Our breakfast again was sublime, Emma's homemade jams are highly recommended! We headed over to Shibden Hall for a stroll using the suggested route provided by the Inn, before returning for our highly anticipated Sunday lunch. We had waited 5 months for this and it most definitely did not let us down. We both opted for the roast beef which was outstanding and the sticky toffee pudding was possibly the best I had ever tasted. After being affected by the recent flooding and now Covid-19, we really do hope that the Shibden Mill Inn will still be thriving when we can return again to celebrate our wedding later this year."
"Our first visit here and we’ll certainly be back. Lovely staff, great setting, beautifully clean and presented in the public areas and in our room. We booked last minute and had a standard double, which was far superior to some suites we’ve stayed in elsewhere. Lots of small touches, including quality toiletries, bottled water, dressing gowns. We had lunch and breakfast here, and several drinks in the bar. The food was perfect, the drink choices very good (we own an award winning craft ale and gin bar, and are frequently underwhelmed by the lack of thought that takes the edge off otherwise decent venues. Not the case here.) Had a good laugh at some of the petty keyboard warriors’ reviews - “no separate gluten free menu” , “no full fat milk” and my personal favourite: “small windows made it dark inside” IT’S A 400 YEAR OLD MILL YOU MORONS!! Ignore them all. This is a great place of quirky character and charm. The staff are attentive, engaging and efficient, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shibden Mill to anyone - unless they want vegan bedding or gluten free car parking. "
"First time visit but unbeknown to us, we've stayed and/or eaten at a few of the hotels in the "chain". The location for this hotel is lovely, nestled at the bottom of a valley. We did come in the wrong way and were directed by satnav down an incredibly steep cobbled road! Avoid in winter!!! The hotel welcome was warm and friendly. The bar/restaurant area was lively and used by locals for their early evening pints. Plenty of nooks and crannies to find for seating. The meals we had were excellent. The Ham Hock terrine and pressed mackerel were a great start, as were the glasses of recommended accompanying wines. Mains were Short-rib beef and Lamb, again with recommended wines. Both mains were superb! 6 cheese board to finish off. For the location, interior, friendliness of staff and quality of food and drink, I would definitely recommend. Oh and the breakfast room and food were lovely the following day. Happy customers."

"I was apprehensive staying away from Bradford city centre where I was working in the theatre for the week, but the 26-minute drive into the city was never a problem and quite relaxing with lovely views. I always enjoy a Premier Inn stay but find they can be quite pricey at times, and parking can be a problem or costly but not this time. The Premier Inn Bradford North (Bingley) hotel had free parking and was reasonably priced moreover, I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the vicinity and taking in the views. The room was quiet, which is always bliss, and there was no smell of cigarette smoke. My room was spacious, warm, a super comfy but high bed and terrific pillows, a large desk, tea and coffee facilities, TV, hanging space and a clean bathroom with a powerful shower. I asked for a non-slip bath mat as there was a bath and also a toilet brush because I was staying the week, and the staff were happy to comply. I only wished I had stayed an extra night instead of travelling to my next destination where the accommodation paled in comparison. When I left on Sunday, I had a Sunday lunch at the restaurant attached, the meal was delicious, and the staff were most attentive. Would I stay there again, absolutely!"
"Nothing particularly wrong with this hotel on the outskirts of Bingley, but not as good as many others in the Whitbread chain that I’ve stayed at. Room was OK, though the TV couldn’t receive any Freeview channels due to ‘antenna faults’, and no slip-mat for the bath (will they never learn?). I had dinner and cooked breakfast there. I’m not a fan of their Brewers Fayre brand as the vegetarian choices are limited, however the dinner was OK. The restaurant was quite small and cramped, and being half-term, full of families. I was given a table right in line with the air conditioning ceiling vent, so the choice was cold air on the back of my neck, or onto my food if I faced the other way. I had the cooked breakfast, which was very good and the staff were far more cheerful that those working the previous evening. Again, very busy, not helped by a children’s soft play area attached to the restaurant, so youngsters were constantly running through the restaurant while customers were carrying hot drinks, food etc. Still, it was only a one-night stay, thankfully, and due to an early booking, was quite cheap."
"A weekend's walking in the Dales near Horton and Settle and this Premier Inn was used as a base; visited it over many years and never fails to impress. Usual high quality facility and ideally located for Crossflatts station and 662 bus if not using the car. Quiet area. Recommended. "

"What an exceptional Premier Inn! The rooms are much nicer than other Premier Inns I have been to. The hotel staff were helpful and the breakfast staff were so friendly and welcoming as they accomodated our family wedding party of 16. Not to mention the breakfast selection was great too. Thanks for a lovely stay! Would definitely recommend and come to stay again."
"Friendly staff & lovely clean room as usual, the attached pub to this location offers a good veraity of food & drink whist complying with all social distancing also the staff in the restaurant where helpful & efficient plus top marks for the breakfast."
"Nice location next to canal. Room spotless, comfortable bed, constant hot water and brilliant shower. Staff really helpful. Bus stop just outside. Just one little downside tv was set at 15, we couldn't hear it. Would certainly recommend."

"We were here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. We were in the Askwith room which is on the front of the building, so we did get a bit disturbed, but nothing unexpected. The room was well presented with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom (with the most powerful shower I’ve ever experienced!). It did get a bit warm in the afternoon as the sun was setting, but the very effective (Dyson) fan quickly resolved this. Breakfast was very good - a great selection, good quality and ample quantity. We did have to wait quite a while for breakfast, but it was worth waiting for. We had evening meal on 1 night and this was also very good, with a varied menu. The hotel is very central with lots of shops, bars and restaurants in close proximity. There is no hotel parking, but we managed to find some free parking on New Brook Street, a few minutes walk from the hotel. The COVID-19 precautions were clear and easy to follow and all staff were wearing either visors or masks. We decided to forego the maid service, but were given clean towels and coffee/milk,etc when requested. The best thing about the hotel, was the staff. Everyone was very friendly and professional, especially the manager (Andy), who went out of his way to make our stay an enjoyable one - thanks! One area of improvement would be the stair carpet which needs either replacing or a good clean. Overall a very good hotel. We would definitely consider staying here again. "
"Just come home from a one nighter here including dinner b and b. Every aspect was superb. We were allocated a beautiful suite (at front of hotel so traffic noise disturbed me but not my husband, I am extremely light sleeper), check in friendly, bar attached had good selection cask ales and variety of gins. The meal was as good as always, talk about value for money. Restaurant packed the 4 girls waiting on never stopped for breath but were throughout charming, efficient and lovely. Breakfast , I think was served by a manager who was a credit to Bistrot Pierre, was good produce very well cooked and more than enough of it, served with large glass of juice and endless great coffee. Cant wait to go back."
"We recently stayed with 4 other couples on a dinner bed and breakfast rate - the value for money was fantastic and the evening meal was delicious. Breakfast the following morning was of a similar high quality and the rooms were very pleasant and clean with nice sheets and fluffy towels. The service we got from the team in the restaurant, bar and hotel was excellent and felt genuine - warm, welcoming and very competent We would really recommend this place as it’s a great central location and we couldn’t fault anything for the price. "Start with positives :- It’s only a 10 minute walk to Ilkley , which is a lovely place - also has a great local train network. Parking is plentiful. That’s about it! The hotel was empty but tried to check in at 1.30 but was told to come back at 2pm We were the only guests in the restaurant in the evening - the food was so-so, but expensive. The poor young lad serving us was clueless. Breakfast was okay - limited hot menu which was fine, but not much on offer for the continental selection. Given the few guests in the hotel, I understand why. The room we had was tiny! The double bed was pushed against the wall with access only on one side - definitely felt like a single room. There was an awful smell in the room too - I opened the window to find a very dirty windowsill. The lift didn’t work ... I could go on. Given the lack of customers, I’m guessing people vote with their feet... I certainly wouldn’t return. "
"The property is in a great location both for visiting Ilkley and the surrounding area. Parking is ample, but offloading the cases at the front door, before parking in the car park would be advisable. The food in the restaurant was well presented and tasty. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was bright, clean and modern. Overall, although only there for 1 night, i would be happy to have stayed for longer. The dinner bed and breakfast rate was good value for money, so something to consider if you need to be in the area! "
"Lovely 2 night stay. Friendly staff, clean and spacious double room. Beautiful spa facilities on site. The only thing I was disappointed with was the bar. Had a couple of drinks on the Saturday night and when I went to get another drink the bar maid said sorry I’ve already cashed up so you’ll have to go to reception to pre authorise a card and we can charge it to your room. This was at 10pm on a Saturday night! All she had to say before she cashed up was so you want anymore drinks, we were only sitting 5 meters away from her so no excuse really. Apart from that I was very happy with our stay. "
