We only stayed for one night me and my partner, we arrived late and wanted to go out to eat. Great location, walking distance for everything you need from bars to restaurants from Brazilian to Thai food or British pub food. We pushed our luck being late and the man on reception was brilliant and his service was fantastic and recommended some lovely places. After a long day our room had everything we needed, walk in shower, robes, super king bed and room service. We skipped breakfast and booked the pool for 9am which is included and was just perfect, the reason for our stay was to do the tour of old Trafford and the hotel certainly made our trip more worth while.

The hotel is lovely and the room is amazing. The front desk people are very nice and helpful. The only thing I would say is parking is very difficult. If you can find parking at the front, It’s good but maximum you can park it’s 2 hours for 5.85. But you can leave it there all day for £25 parking ticket which I did

I discovered this hidden gem by accident. I had almost given up on finding a hotel that was close enough to the airport as well as to local shopping and had ac. There are only two things I have a problem with in regards to this place. Please note there is not an elevator or lift as the UK states. The other draw back is there is no way to shield the light in the bathroom area. It is hard to describe. There is a beautiful glass door to the right and left in the bath area with a sink in the middle of the space. If one has to get up to use the facilities the light being turned on glares in the face of the other one in bed. One other note is to be careful when closing the glass door. When I closed the door, my finger got closed in the door and it actually cut my finger below the cuticle. After 3 days, my finger is blue and sore.
While the hotel is directly under the local airport's flight pattern, we never heard planes unless we were outside.
The grounds are astounding as is the building itself. Make sure to check out the artwork throughout the place. If you like hidden staircases, watch out.
The place appears to be kid friendly. There is a fabulous playground adjacent to the property. Make sure to purchase duck food for the locals.
The bar, while somewhat limited in its offerings, was suitable for us. As to cost, the prices were comparable if not better than other bars/pubs we have visited..
We did not dine in the restaurant, but from what I say, the food looked amazing. The young man working reception was so very nice to help with our luggage as well as anything else we may have needed. The young ladies working in the bar were also very nice. In fact, they were so embarrassed by my asking to take their photo. They said no one had ever asked to take their photo.

Having chose this hotel as its proximity to Manchester Airport we thought it would very nice. How wrong we were. We humped our bags into reception after a 10 hour flight watched by a lady sat on a stool in reception. A gentleman came from bar and assisted with our luggage and left it outside the room and left. Very odd We went to our room which must have been the last let one, probably sold a month ago, it was 9-10pm window was open with cobwebs and dust on, but as were were so tired from travelling we went straight to sleep. There was a plug in smelly in the plug next to the bed which I turned off, and realised why it was there when we were woken next morning. The damp musty smell was vile. Whilst trying to sleep there are three lights around the room, flashing in the dark (The air con, The TV and what looked like the heat/smoke detector) very off putting when you are trying to get to sleep At 6.30am the next morning we were abruptly woken by delivery vehicles backing up against our window with it reverse beepers on ! We were right next to the kitchen/cafe. The window was frosted and now we know why !! As we were woken we went for breakfast and walked into a restaurant with 3 business men having an appraisal at the breakfast table - This is not a meeting room but a restaurant and very poor We also notice the chef wearing normal clothes (Polo shirt and trousers) and not chefs whites, why ? in an open kitchen. The buffet was very meagre flies in the juices and flowers which we had to tell the staff, the music was unbearable loud and I am partially deaf, and asked the staff to turn it down. The cooked breakfast arrived, greasy and pretty inedible, we left as there was not staff in the restaurant We had to climb over laundry bags to get to our room, we then checked out and were not even given a bill We were clearly very disappointed and thought about it and thought we would e mail the hotel for a managers details, they duly gave us the details, and we e mailed that person, who has not even responded. hence the review. Hotels cannot be run like this otherwise it will just close - please take with your paying guests.

We loved this hotel. I stayed with my daughter while visiting the university. It’s beautifully done, from the reception, bars and rooms. The staff were great too. A lovely welcome at reception, super waiting staff and especially the valet parking guys who were efficient and really charming. We will definitely stay again and I’m also looking forward to visiting some of their other establishments.

Every single member of the Dakota team is exemplary at what they do and they are not only consummate professionals but they all seem to enjoy doing it too. From the concierge greeting, friendly efficient check in and super helpful bar team to the attentive restaurant team a wonderful experience is delivered leaving you feeling any stay is just way too short.

Stayed for 2 days. Requested a room with a bath tub by email. Was told an accessibility room will be provided. Said I did not want an accessibility room and it was confirmed. Got to the hotel and was given an accessibility room due to upgrades not being available. Then noticed the room air conditioning was not working even though a member of staff looked at it. On the 2nd night the hotel staff moved us to another floor. Apparently they were aware of complaints with the air conditioning but did not say or do anything about it. The staff were good with resolving the issue but were not proactive in avoiding the issues.

The style of the room is retro, pretty good, the toiletries are great, and there is a refrigerator. But the top-level swimming pool is very small, only two or three meters long. No one really goes swimming. If you live in the pool, the price is slightly higher. There is also a sauna on the top floor, which makes it very comfortable to steam~

The hotel is convenient to kingstreet, eating and shopping are convenient, the 6th floor lounge is very good, very beautiful, 7th floor small hot spring, warm and delicate. Because Manchester University graduated to take a wedding dress, the front desk of the hotel deliberately opened a roof to take photos on it.
