We stayed at Steigenberger Hotel for one night, and at the entrance it was exactly how you would expect a five star hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, that can help you where and when needed. Though when we got to the room itself we had a little unpleasant surprise. The room itself was nice, good view over the Rhine and the interior is nice. But when I dropped my phone and it fell under the bed, I went to pick it up and underneath the bed was a dirty tissue with a substance on it that looked to be semen. Also when I shined my flashlight under it to take a video of it, I found a pair of socks from the previous guests. This indicates the room was not really cleaned properly. There also was a lot of dust on the bedside tables, and a lot underneath the bed (which I myself don’t mind as it’s a hard place to vacuum). Not really up to the high five star standard, but the rest was really good. Nice views with a good bed and spacious room. The Biergarten is also beautiful, especially at sunset. I have to give it 4/5 because of the stuff we found in the room, for the rest it was a very pleasant stay.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Kameha Grand in Bonn. The location is great for walking and cycling and about 15 mins drive from the centre of Bonn on the other sider of the river. Lots of very safe cycle paths everywhere. Our junior suite was large and very comfortable. Strangely, the mini-bar was empty, but I did not find out why. The styling would not be to everyones taste, but I certainly liked it and the hotel is flooded with light. Breakfast was very good with the usual offerings. We made use of the swimming pool on the 3rd floor in the spa, which was heated and overlooks the Rhine. We found the staff to be extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable throughout. We used Uber to get around Bonn, although the service only recently came to Bonn and the service was a bit patchy. Be prepared to wait for longer than you would in bigger cities such as Berlin. We did not try any of the restaurants at the Kameha as we were only there for a short while. If anyone needs a recommendation, try Oscar in der Remise, about 8 minutes away by car. For travellers to Germany, bring cash as the country is still behind the times and a bit analogue. The lovely Rheinlust beer garden about 10mins drive away does not accept any form of credit cards. Some taxi drivers also struggled with electronic payment. Looking forward to returning to the Kameha

Unique and very beautiful boutique hotel. The athmosphere in the hotel is amazing. The buildings are old but renovated with respecting love. The location is good and the area is absolutely beautiful. I recommend to walk near by and admire the beautiful buildings. The service is friendly and the breakfast is perfect: high quality products, beautiful set up and peaceful athmosphere.

I had booked a week for work, and this looked like a pleasant location, and I arrived late and no one was told to receive me, so no surprise, and the night box with the key worked well. But then, my room number, I had no information about it, fortunately I had a phone number, a friendly lady on the other side of the line lighted me in my number on the key hanger, and I had not yet looked at it. I didn't expect this information to be on the key, so to the room, this was small, and the shower area was small, a pleasant, well sleeping double bed that was. There was a coffee machine and there was a bottle of water. The salts there were on payment, and a TV with a number of broadcasts, unfortunately almost all German broadcasts, and there was a double box, with one sliding door, so not closed. There was no breakfast in the first morning because it had to be informed in advance. Also that was no problem, there were options near. Furthermore, no more effort made to breakfast here, The garage of the hotel is not a luxury. I used it 1 night, because it is not easy to get in or out without damage (1m60 narrow entrance and also in the garage minimally in space). The floors cracked, but the night was calm. 1 Older lady of staff was very helpful and friendly. I'm sorry, but I was expecting something more, I got a box of chocolates before Christmas.
