Reviews From Real Travelers
I was excited to go back after the refurbishment, having had a great time previously. We had to wait for the girl on the spa reception to finish her chat before acknowledging us. We were given some forms and told to take a seat. The spa was filled with children who were running riots. We were told when booking the arrival drink was tea or coffee, so we ordered a coffee and was told the coffee machine was broken so could only have herbal tea. So we were not off to a good start. Then off to get changed where the girl said there would be towels and flip flops already in the locker. Only one of us had a locker with this in. So we had to interrupt the receptionists chat to get those. The facilities have not been refurbished, and the steam room smelt so bad we couldn't bear to use it. Indoor pool is lovely, but it needs a bit of music or something. Cups and mugs and towels were left throughout the whole morning. Treatments we had booked for the same time as per my confirmation. We sat waiting, two of my friends went through, and I sat there, so I asked and was told my treatment was 30 minutes later. I queried this, and she said the manager had moved it some time ago. There was an apology that I hadn't been informed but added to the already there frustration. The treatment itself was amazing, my therapist really listened to what I wanted and delivered(sorry I forgot your name, brown hair and glasses, but you really do deserve credit) in fact, all of us were blown away by the treatments. Although, you can hear absolutely everything from the treatment room. could hear the same girl from the desk, noise from the gym and every time someone opened the changing room. As this was a treat for a friend we did not make a fuss, we paid and went for lunch earlier than planned. We went through to the hotel, where the receptionist was busy looking at her mobile over helping us. We made our own way to the restaurant. I did absolutely love the decor in the main hotel and that felt as though it really transformed. Lunch was great, service was excellent. We didn't get any names, but everyone who served us was fabulous. Things were on the look up! We decided to stay in the bar and lounge area for our coffee, finally! We really eally enjoyed the atmosphere up there. Overall, I wouldn't go back to the spa, the expierience of the spa itself wasn't relaxing or luxury. I can't wait to go back for lunch.

The address location is not in which tourist town, it is here to experience the manor life of the English countryside. The hotel occupies a huge area, and has not finished shopping for more than half an hour. Many ancient buildings and sculptures. The restaurant is super beautiful and can be used for lunch and dinner here. For breakfast, only take cold food, and the meal will be paid separately. Service is very good, butler style. The room is actually a three-story duplex, the style is more beautiful than the rural mix, but the three floors will be a little inconvenient. Other big room types are not available at the time. Travel to the town attractions for a chartered tour. In short, the trip is worthwhile and the memory is profound. Looking for a different English country rich experience, come here!

Can add an extra bed, suitable for children, has a large parking lot, is a 500-year-old manor, breakfast is very rich. Can add an extra bed, suitable for children, has a large parking lot, is a 500-year-old manor, breakfast is very rich.

The hotel breakfast is relatively simple, but the dining room is very historical, dinner is OK, and the restaurant environment is elegant. The room was also clean. It was nice to take a walk around.

Booked into this hotel for the night of the 15th August as it was the closest to where I needed to be on business for a couple of days. Wow! What a gem of a find! First Impressions of the hotel were very good everything looked at such a high Standard of cleanliness. I was welcomed to the hotel by such a lovely attentive girl on reception and allocated room “chateau Pesque” which I believe to be a deluxe room. Beautiful room, complete with everything you may need for a very comfortable stay and again the room has been serviced to a very high standard. Fantastic walk in monsoon shower and a roll top bath in the bedroom with L’occitane products which I do use at home and they are so lovely. The bed was so very comfortable and during this hot weather we have been experiencing the fully functioning Air Con in the room was a complete blessing. It was great to be able to control it myself as most hotels use a centrally controlled function. I definitely had a lovely nights sleep. The staff at the bar are so welcoming and there is a nice little terrace to sit at down the stairs from the bar. I ordered room service and chose the chicken Normandy which was absolutely delicious.” And cooked to perfection. The wifi worked perfectly and I was able to watch Netflix on the evening on my iPad without any buffering. The breakfast was beautiful, yes as others have said maybe a little costly at £18.50 but it’s quality and service for me and you certainly get what you pay for as the food is beautiful and lots of choice on the breakfast menu from a full English to grilled kippers plus you can also help yourself to the plentiful choices from their country table. I have been staying at up to 3 different hotels nationwide nearly every week for 7 years now in my current position , so I do think I’m more than qualified to say the Du Vin Cheltenham is up there in my list as one of the best I have personally experienced (and that’s been a fair few) It’s about the whole experience for me: the staff, the service, the food and cleanliness and comfort of this hotel and in my opinion the Du Vin has it all. I do not have any negatives to add at all. I do hope to experience this hotel again in the near future and would fully recommend to my colleagues friends and family. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed here just for a night, and didn’t fancy going to a restaurant in the main area of Cheltenham, so decided to eat at the Hotel du vin restaurant. We fancied a glass of red wine and had been pretty frustrated the last couple months by not finding a red wine that was really rounded and smooth. So challenged the person near the bar to find us a wine that would really hit the pallet. Henry who waited on us rose to the challenge and selected a wine that was great, the finish was a bit acidic at the end but with food was spot on. So Henry was really engaged and knowledgeable, so we decided to have the food at the restaurant. Blimey it was good. We weren’t that hungry so had the beetroot humous starter, i had the chicken liver starter, and just shared the haddock fishcake for our main. With the wine of course. What a simple but lovely combination. I dont wax lyrical often but you know when your food does a lovely light dance in the mouth because of the flavours and combinations in there. Well that happened tonight. So a big thanks and well done to Henry , the chef and hotel du vin tonight.

Reviews From Real Travelers
We'd initially booked the Quays Room - positioned as ”executive plus” on the website. Making the usual allowances for the building being old, this was a horrible room. The carpet looked like it needed a deep, deep clean; the ceiling had massive cracks, but the real kicker was the windows. The website for the hotel says: ”Located on the first floor of the manor house, this room offers views of the roof top terrace.” Does it, though? Or does one window look out onto a small area surrounded by walls on all four sides? Kind of an accidental void caused by the layout, rather than the sort of thing you'd expect from a ”roof terrace”. As a side note, you could gain access to this - ahem - terrace via an unlocked door in the corridor, which means that literally anyone could, should they choose, pitch up outside your bedroom window. Hold on, though - it's a dual aspect room. The second window looks out on a scene so grim they've permanently boarded it up with wooden slats, which you can fiddle with and squint through to see some more roofs. Absolutely understand that not every room can look out onto the Gloucestershire coutryside, but if you're booking a room pitched as being not merely executive, but executive plus, and priced accordingly, you don't expect to wind up in a space that would have been considered a bit much for the First Mrs Rochester. We elected to change rooms - paying a whack extra for a room above the spa. Like the Quays, this also wasn't worth the price being asked, but we rationalised that the additional £40 a night was a surcharge in order to not be spending time in the miserable Executive Plus level. The spa side of the hotel is better - it felt a lot cleaner, the rooms are currently being renovated and upgraded (ominous that a management response here says they're only overhauling 20 of their bedrooms, as this implies the Tumbledown Manor side are going to be left untouched.) The walk-in shower is brilliant, but feel sorry for the cleaning staff as the floor hasn't been laid properly so it doesn't quite drain properly and must be a faff to clean. The rooms further up the corridor appear to have actual, proper balconies - ours didn't, as the pool was beneath us and for some reason they'd decided we weren't allowed to get onto the terrace outside our room. We had a bit of a view across the garden to the trees, although much of it was of the green roof of the pool. You can't control the temperature of the room at all - the first night it was way too hot, but there wasn't even an off switch for the heated towel rail. We opened the windows and just about made the room bearable. The common areas of the hotel had radiators blasting out at high levels - maybe something was broken as a lot of doors were propped open the next, more bearable, day (including external doors, which was cooling but interesting from a security perspective.) Ironically, this part of the hotel has an actual roof terrace, with seating and views, which would

We attend the restaurant for a family birthday. It having been chosen (not by me) on the premise that it would be a ”high end” treat. On arrival, it was a long wait to even get a drink from the bar and that theme of service seemed to run through the whole evening. No-one came to the bar to say ”your table is ready/ would you like to come through??” . Once seated, it still took a while for the order to be take although we'd had plenty of time in the bar to choose. Starters cost around £7.50/ £8.50. The king prawns (4) seemed to be floating in ketchup and the Japanese duck was a small salad of julienne vegetables with about a baby size finger of shredded duck..blink and you would have missed it. Main courses are mostly priced around £18-20 but steak at £28 and daily special of lamb shank at £26.50 were eye watering. My sin of beef when it came was tender and tasty but the horseradish cream was so creamed, there was no taste of horseradish at all. The main courses took a very long time to come out and then frustratingly 2 mains courses came out over 10 minutes later than everything. This led to the awkward 'no, please start without me” conversation and the accompanying vegetables (£.3.50 for carrots/£3.50 for beans)....were cold. We did get fresh supplied and I requested an adjustment to our bill to take account of the delay (which was made). Deserts also priced around £7.50. The boys had brownie cheesecake which seemed to go down well. The service was somewhat redeemed by the staff assisting with a cake we had supplied for the birthday boy. If you are a guest at the hotel, the allowance against dinner is £30 pp which at the above prices, doesn't really do very far. Maybe due to location, the management feel prices can be justified as it's a captive audience. However, as a local coming in, it's not an experience I would choose to repeat. There are many, many other places offering better food, service and value for (alot) of money spent.
