Praça Castro Alves, 5, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
"The hotel is marvelous in every way. The rooms are very spacious and modern, and so are the bathrooms. Huge tv screen. The nicest thing about the hotel is the rooftop, which is gorgeous for a lazy day at the pool or a sunset drink. The bar area is just lovely and the music sets a great vibe. The breakfast is good, my husband loved it because of all the delicious baked goods, but I prefer a variety of more healthy options . The gym is pretty small and just has a few machines. As for the location, I would understand why it has a high rating on websites being in close proximity to Pelourinho, and with the marina right below it. However I personally would prefer if it was elsewhere for aesthetic reasons. The area around it and leading it to is shanty. The view from the rooftop or while you’re working out at the gym , is of old and dirty abandoned buildings. Also it is not advisable to walk to the old town after sunset due to it being unsafe. The service by all staff is impeccable, from the concierge, to the restaurant waiters ,bellboys and the staff at the door. A special thanks goes to Artem from concierge who helped us with booking everything in advance and tending to all our requests. Overall it’s a wonderful hotel and I highly recommend it. "
"After an unfortunate adventure with a lower class hotel (Sotero) I decided to avoid taking another chance and pay for quality. I was so well inspired! This is the same level of service, perfection and refinement that you get in four seasons or hyatt. The staff is wonderful, attentive, speaks perfect english. The restaurants they recommended were all out of this world, the room was very elegant and comfortable, rooftop pool great too... it ticks all the boxes. Also it is all in the details with them: they offer a pair of ipanema sandals special edition and changed the size of mine without mentioning it after one day (probably checking my sneakers shoe size). Every time i uber, someone is discretely coming behind the car to take the plate number. They also gave me a very generous late check out without charge. Plus the hotel location is perfect. They are on the high side of prices for the city but worth every penny!"
"But the relaxation is destroyed by people using phones without headphones. This is a Brazilian vice, unrelenting noise pollution. Introduce a no electronic noise rule (and offer headphones to guest incapable of controlling themselves and their devices) and restore the calm induced atmosphere created by so much great design and the hotel's music. We've had a great stay in a beautifully restored building, the usual Fasano standards of service, food, accommodation. Great job."

Rua Chile 20 - Centro Histórico, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
"The Fera Palace Hotel is situated on a hill in the popular historic old district of Salvador De Bahia, over the Largo do Pelourinho. The hotel is a short walk from the elevator down to the bay (Largo do Pelourinho) and to Parque Quinze de Novembro, which is in the heart of the historic old city, which is very well policed to protect tourists in a city that even hardened Brazilians consider dangerous.. The hotel itself is quite old with a Portuguese colonial feel to it. Although not posh, it is certainly a cut above any other hotels in the area and I found the service to be very friendly. I had arranged to be picked up by the hotel's shuttle from the airport, which cost the equivalent of about £40.00 for a journey of close to an hour. The charge was added to my hotel bill to pay at check out. The room was clean, but the promised queen sized bed turned out to be two singles apart from each other. However, it was clean and everything worked OK. I liked the colonial feel and the shuttered windows. I would have expected a bottle or two of complimentary mineral water in the room in an hotel in a country where the average daily temperature is 30ºC. The plug sockets are uniquely Brazilian and so no plugs or adaptors from other countries fit. I asked reception for an adaptor as I needed to work, but he said they only have three and he had given the last one to another guest, but that I could borrow it after that guest checks out the following day - when I also check out! A stupid suggestion, if I am honest. Now I needed to go and buy an adaptor, but I needed Brazilian currency to do so as no traders will accept any currency other than riyals. The problem is that the hotel had no currency exchange facility, which is mind boggling. This is a hotel with a predominantly international clientele yet they would not exchange US dollars, euros or pounds Sterling. It was this lack of the service concept that downgraded my estimation of the hotel. I ended up walking miles in high temperatures and excessive humidity on hilly, badly made roads to finally find a local artist who said he would exchange a few American dollars for me at a lousy rate. At least now I was able to buy my much needed adaptor to be able to plug in my laptop to charge. The adaptor cost me less than £1.00. If they are so cheap then why does the hotel not buy at least two for each of their rooms? This is a service oversight. I did not want to go out into the dangerous streets of Salvador at night to look for a restaurant, so I asked if there was a restaurant in the hotel. I was told there was, but in fact all that is offered is a few bar snacks and nothing substantial, so I had a cheese toastie followed by a bar of Brazilian dark chocolate for dinner. At least the service was good, but there should be more for the guests to choose from. I guess there is not much choice of places to stay in Salvador, so the Fera Palace is at the top end of the scale and is not so bad "
"I visited Salvador 2 weeks ago and had booked to stayed at Fera. I arrived at night (around 8 pm), and the room wasn’t ready for us (bummer!). So, we sat at the bar and had a bottle of wine and a shrimp pastel. About an hour later, the room was ready. The room was beautiful, A lot of the original Palace Hotel (before it became Fera). Everything I ordered to eat was delicious, especially the Zucchini Pastel, which I ate every single day! The swimming pool at the roof top is just gorgeous and hard to leave. My first day I spent there. Everyone who works at the hotel was very nice and very hard working! I only had one issue, they played the same CD every single day, and the breakfast is good, but everytime you stand up to get something from the buffet, its gone. So it take a while for them to re-fill the food. Oh! And the AC is freezing in the lobby. I would def be back! "
"The property it is well located close to Pelourinho, even at night it could be bit dangerous. Nice big room with great internal colonial taste (just missing complimentary water), fantastic roof top pool and bar with gorgeous view on the harbor. I have particularly appreciated the breakfast (just too cold the air conditioned), personnel was nice and friendly."

Rua Almirante Barroso, 161, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
"We read some reviews about the hotel and the pictures were amazing and that were the decision factors for booking it. Part of it is an old building and it’s beautiful. Our rooms, considered standard, weren’t pictured anywhere. So it was a little disappointing. Very small tv, poor fridge and bathroom. Our bed didn’t even have a headboard. The view was great and though. My kids room had a problem with the toilet. It wasn’t flushing. We dined there a few times and one of them when we ordered fish with almond crust and banana cream it was awful. The meat was frozen in the middle. The server tried to fix. I complained about it and all we got was an I’m sorry. The New Year’s reception was good and beautifully done. Not really friendly staff and manager, apart from Tatiana and Tatiane. Pool deck (very small) with an amazing beach view."
"Super quiet —ADULTS ONLY HOTEL —- no kids under 12 are allowed. Staff extremely helpful Super location. Walking distance to many restaurants. Amazing views and excellent breakfast buffet. Pool, steam room and massage room well equipped as well "
"+The view was amazing from both terraces! Friendly staff who tried their best to make us feel cosy! -The area around isn’t safe to walk. The nearest beach is dodgy. For instance, we saw a drunk walking with a knife while eating in a restaurant close to the hotel. The room was ok for a 3 star hotel but nothing exceptional and the hotel in general needs a lot of work to be done. Considering we took not just a standard room but « luxury » option. Especially the welcoming area with all the painting peeling off. Breakfast was terrible. Orange juice mixed with water and the container with it was never full. Absolutely tasteless fruits and pastries. Most of the days I ended up eating nothing but bread and butter with no drink. The pool area wasn’t perfectly clean. The hotel left us disappointed in general and was nothing like paradisiac pictures from the website. "

Av. Oceânica, 3033, Ondina, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
"The Oceanico Ondina provides a large terrace with panoramic views as well as air-conditioned rooms. The hotel has a great location on the oceanfront of Ondina Beach, near Salvador’s zoo and the Barra Shopping Mall. The Carnival's popular concerts take place only 100 meters away. Without any extra charge, guests can access the internet in the business center and enjoy a daily breakfast in the restaurant. Every accommodation is equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and telephone. Most rooms overlook the ocean."

Praça da Se, 22, terreo 1 e 2 andar, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
"When I first got there I was sort of 'overlooked'. I should mention that there were 2 guys at the front desk. Luckily a young woman came along who was a lot friendlier but she went as soon as she came. I was talking to one of the guys (Canadian-Brazilian guy) and stated that I did not speak much Portuguese (but that my family was Portuguese) then I think I mispronounced something - the name of a food - and he turned to the other guy at the desk and said something to him about me in Portuguese (I think it was 'she can't even say the name of it'. It was really unpleasant for me and just unnecessary. To be honest I should have confronted him about it but i'm guessing he saw I was shy so didn't care. This is really bad customer service. It's not how you treat people. My guess is their age might be a problem so they need to employ people of all ages, both men and women to make it comfortable for every type of guest not just girls that the boys like the looks of. The second issue was with the room. The room was completely different to the one I booked (either on here or through a sister site). The image of the room was a room facing the square with large window shutters but I was given a room at the back with no view at all. There needs to be more communication between this hotel and the site we purchase rooms from because something is getting lost in translation. Onto good points. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was great (and the woman who cooks is lovely - really friendly) - lots of food options. The dining area is cosy and not intimidating. The room looks out onto the square which was fantastic. It's also great if you come back early in the day when no one is around and you can just sit there and look onto the square and soak up the atmosphere. It's also open at night so you can have the same experience. I don't know where the others guests were (out partying? Also I went in May... it won't let me select that in the drop down option) so I was alone most of the time and it was wonderful. There is also a communal games room with books if you want to just chill there. There are wash basins dotted around the hotel (it's a bit of a maze) and the decor is really lovely. It was a nice place to be in. The location is also great being in the centre of the square - you can look out onto it every nigh and see people relaxing (yes it's sort of loud like the guest said but I didn't experience much sound in my room - having been shoved at the back of beyond). Diagonal to the left of the hotel you can get the lift down to the market (can't remember the cost but it's pennies). The back end of the market is where you get the hop on hop off bus although it's not immediately clear. There are some nice shops near the hotel and one or two good places to eat, hop on hop off bus was good too. I spent 2 or 3 days here and that was more than enough. There wasn't really much to do so you need to move a lot more slowly to capture the mood and make the most of it"
"This is a nice hotel to stay in Salvador. It's a small hotel off one of the main plazas in the historical area. Although the building is older, the rooms were clean and modern. Rates are reasonable. Breakfast which is included is plentiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, this may not be a good choice. There's a lot of activity outside - music, vendors and people - which can make things a little noisy at times."
"The hotel has a perfect location just in the heart of the city. The building is historical old and has been renovated modern for the inside keeping the traditional touch. Our room was spacious and calm. The breakfast was great with a great view. We loved the bar, the billiard possibility, and all the hidden calm corners inside. The staff was helpful and fiendly. We would definitely stay again:)"

Rua Passargada, S/N, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil
"This hotel has a friendly staff, a comfortable room and from my room, a marvelous view of the ocean and the skyline of Salvador! Stayed here 4 nights. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety. Also we had the dinner buffet a couple of nights, which was also good. The grounds are well maintained, and while I didn't use the pool it did look inviting. Easy to get Uber to and from the hotel. As well, there usually was a taxi standing there if needed. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would return."
"We visited family in Salvador to celebrate the new year. Our accommodations exceeded expectations - clean, affordable and complete in every way. We enjoyed a great start to each day with "al fresco" breakfast, enjoyed the outdoor pool area, played games indoors to escape the rain and relaxed in the bar each evening. Great location. Easy to find. What more can you ask for!"
"We spent a day here, had a reservation to enjoy a full day with family and friends. It was great to stay at the pool. Nice and clean water, good food and good service. It is not close in front of the beach, it's in a very reserved area. Huge grounds, big pool and nice bedroom. I loved this place and I recommend."
