"Super zentrale Lage bei Mittlerer Brücke, stylisch eingerichtete Zimmer, sauber, kostenlos Wasser und Süsses auf der Etage, rasches und unkompliziertes Check-in und Check-out. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen! Einige Bars in der Gasse wo das Hotel liegt, d.h. wenn man früh zu Bett will sollte man wohl Ohropax dabei haben. Aber z.B. für Silvester/Neujahr z.B. war es absolut super! "
"Wunderbares Hotel in Mitten des Geschehens. Freundlichkeit und Gemütlichkeit ausgezeichnet. Das Haupthaus kann ich nur empfehlen. Leider sind die Zimmerpreise nicht differenziert. Schade. Wenn da pfusen, dann bitte auch dort essen: Hervorragende Küche. Und eine herrliche Weinkarte. "
"The Consum has the potential to be a great place to stay but be aware that the whole building is currently undergoing construction works following a fire next door. As such scaffolding is all along the outside of the building, it is under wraps and you will need to keep curtains closed for privacy and be aware that there is a potential for construction noise during your stay. Once this is completed I'm sure it will be fantastic. Greta breakfast across the road with lovely views over the river."

"There is still some distance from basel sbb, about 8-10 minutes walking time, or two tram stops at the train station, which is much closer. Except that the location is not perfect, everything else is very satisfactory. I like the decoration style of the hotel. The rooms are also spacious. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and the sanitary condition is also good. The breakfast choices are mainly bread, meat, scrambled eggs, dairy products, juice and coffee. The variety is enough for me."
"The location is very convenient, just beside the Basel Art Museum. There is a supermarket next door. The design is strong and the texture is very good. The staff are very nice, and the upgrade is given to the lounge."
"The front desk attitude is very nice, but there are mosquitoes in the room..."

"I don't know why this hotel is so high. Apart from the advantage of the train station, there is no room, the bathroom is OK, but the bathroom has no shelf for towels. The breakfast is similar to other hotels. It is not used by Chinese people. Foreign breakfast, hot water bottle, air conditioning, bus card, fruit in the lobby, McDonald's next to it, Chinese TV channel, the biggest drawback is that the room is small and the boxes are not open."
"Very nice hotel just meters in front of the main station. Drinks are free in the room and there is a water kettle for Asian. Receptionists and waitress were Sunny and friendly. I will stay in the same hotel in future. "
"1 minute from the station. Location is really good. The hotel is very unique. Art Nouveau enthusiasts may love it. Breakfast doesn't suit your taste, so I recommend eating at other restaurants nearby."

"Meeting in the convention center, the nearby hotel is more expensive than the hotel in the center of the old city, and I decided to live in this one which takes twenty minutes to walk to the venue, it turns out to be very wise. The free bus card given by the hotel has a direct tram to the venue every day out of the alley, which is really convenient. The whole journey takes less than ten minutes. Surrounded by restaurants and shops, chocolate shops and coffee shops have various options. One hundred meters away from the hotel, there is the University of Basel Drug Museum, which is estimated to be the most complete museum in Europe and the world to preserve the history of the development of western medicine. . The room was clean, the single room was just right for one person, the shampoo worked well, no toothbrush and toothpaste, slippers, no hot water, two bottles of mineral water, aerated and non-aerated. I went to the restaurant on the first floor (good business at night) and asked for hot water twice. The waiters were enthusiastic and embarrassed."
"Very nice hotel! The room is large and can accommodate extra beds! Breakfast was excellent! The bed was comfortable too! Is the indoor temperature is not high! The car can be parked at the door to unload luggage, and then parked in the parking lot! very convenient! Warm service, very satisfied!"
"The service is very good and the hotel location is also very good. It is a short distance from the public parking lot."

"we have stayed 2 nights at this hotel, with our 2 kids, 11 & 15 years old. we got 2 rooms (style rooms). the rooms are big enough and quiet. the breakfast was fun and tasty. nothing missing. the hotel is very clean as well as the bathrooms (i didn't find myself in need to clean anything my self). the personnel of the hotel is just something extraordinary. they were all so welcoming and willing to help. the first night was difficult for me since the mattress is firm. so i mentioned it at the reception and they immediately said they will find a solution and that i should not be worried. when we came back the afternoon, they have redo our bed with an extra confort soft mattress on top. that was so sweet of them! and of course that was conformable for me. otherwise the location is very convenient since you can reach the old centre from the hotel. as well as you have the tram next to it and at a short walking distance few bus lines. perfect location! we were all enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this hotel anyone visiting basel and the area. thank you very much for your hospitality and for being so professional! "
"I enjoyed my stay! I stayed in the "Art Hotel", room 7. This has been decorated with books, and a little story book was provided to read. There is something simple and luxurious about the whole Teufelhof experience. The walls of the room are white, the bed linen is white and beautifully smooth and clean. The staff smiled and made me feel welcome: the whole team, including the person cleaning the rooms. The food is excellent and there is a choice of places to eat and relax in the hotel. I enjoyed the "cafe- bar" with a view of the street. Recommended. I'll be back."
"A wonderful small hotel in the heart of Basel's old town (Spalentor) offering great value for money. It's clean and comfortable and while the stark room interiors might not please everyone it has nice perks for a three-star hotel such as coffee/hot water in the room, bathrobes ans slippers. Crew is friendly and helpful. Restaurants and bar, a nice covered terrace, and historical city walls in the basement. In "normal" - i.e. non-Covid - times it also houses a small theater. The place to go if you want a quiet venue from where you can walk everywhere."

"I had a single bedroom with the city view. The room is small but it's cozy and has all that is needed. The room and the hotel are very clean and breakfast has a good selection and quality. I loved the fact that everyone can help themselves to tea, water, gummy bears, chocolate and fruit in the hallway. I thought it was super. The only thing that was less good is that the floor is old, so when you step on some wooden boards you can hear the wood crackling - but that's a small price to pay for maintaining this amazing old building that was modernized with full respect to the old features. And above all... everyone was super nice and welcoming"
"I appreciated the clean rooms, the Occitane products, the sweets in the cordior, the interior stairs, the beautiful room views, the fireplace.... ANYHOW...after staying 2 weeks at this hotel I can tell that the hotel is quite old with a small, old and smelly lift, the doors are not automatic but they have a key with a ridiculous huge pendant. Service is poor especially at the reception where they do not greet you even or tell you the details you need to know- very amateurish scared kids taking care of it. Next to the reception is the kitchen/ wash dishes or similar, which makes the entrance quite smelly. Also at breakfast whatever I asked for the answer was NO... Wodden floor is old and sounds creepy. Except for the views that are incredible, the hotel is average- not recommended for business either. I also had a no view room and my experience was so different, in a negative way."
"I chose the single room with a balcony on the river Rhine, and although it is a bit tight it still is very comfortable, the bed is large and the bathroom tiles and equipment are perfect except the basin for a tall man like me (it is a bit small and placed at a low height, so whenever I splashed my head with water a little pool formed around my feet on the floor). The balcony is sublime, with wooden planks and a view of the river and the bridge and the city which is worth every penny."

"We utilized Chase Ultimate Rewards to stay here on November 25 and 26th. We had two rooms with King beds, one for my parents and the other for my wife and I. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 4 pm and went to the old hotel to check in. The receptionist helped my mother walk us back across the street to check in at SET which was much appreciated. The second receptionist at SET was able to get us reservations for L'Atelier Basel, the hotel restaurant for the same night. Our rooms were a relatively large size for Europe. The toilet and shower are in different rooms but both modern. The rooms come with a black out curtain which is much appreciated for jet lagged travelers. The bed was a King but a bit stiff. Although we were on the street side the room was much quieter than we thought it would be. The largest downside of the hotel was the room temperature. Despite it being in the 40s in the evening, the room felt extremely warm or in excess of 70 degrees. The second night we left the window open all night which helped some but the room continued to maintain it's warmth."
"I stayed at the SET for the first time on a short business trip to Basel, and was very happy with it. This is a modern sister hotel to the more traditional Teufelhof across the road; had I arrived any later I would have had to go there to check in, but the very friendly and welcoming gentleman who was just closing up the bar for the evening was able to handle it for me. The room is a little spare in its design (white walls, etc.) but it has nice amenities like a pod coffee machine as well as a sink and hob. I also really appreciated some considerate extra touches, like a Capote book on the bedside table and the complimentary Basel pass for the trams, etc. I didn't have breakfast but it looks very nice - something for next time!"
"Stayed here for two nights after arriving from the US. Basel was a good, low-key entry point to begin our tour of Switzerland. This hotel couldn’t have suited us any better. Spotless, large, well-appointed, comfortable room, quiet location on the edge of the old town. We enjoyed a good breakfast every morning and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only a 15-minute stroll to rail station."

"Visited the hotel for an extend birthday trip with family. The hotel is in an old traditional building located in the center of the village. It is updated to the highest standards. Its modern yet comfortable and very clean. The staff is professional and accommodating. Parking is available in the basement. The beds are cozy, the bathroom spacious and well appointed. The includes breakfast was good, in keeping with local and international standards. Dinner in the restaurant is excellent and specialize in local meats (there are also excellent fish and vegetarian choices). There are also many excellent cafes nearby to provide alternate options. The village has a surprising rich and interesting history, including two medieval fortress castles. The vineyard across the street has a small store with wine-tasting. Highly recommend this hotel, its restaurant, and the area for weekend stay. "
"we shared the Hors d'Oevre plate - three Tartares from veal - beef and porc - amazing - (only the beef was a bit too "ketchuppy" - sadly the taste went lost a bit...) - then my brother had fish my mom had a veal chop and i had Viennese Schnitzel - all was very delicious - just my brother complained about his fish being a bit "dry". Since it was a lot of food - we did not take any sweet dish but we will definitely return."
"Perfect, discret staff, reads the expectationf of the guests. Well equipped room, coffee, tea and complimentary beer:-) . Very tasty, fresh breakfast with local food. Convenient public transport to Basel nearby. Very nice surroundings."
