We stayed at the Hilton Cardiff for four days at the end of March 2023. We really enjoyed our stay! The people at reception made us feel very welcomed, and couldn’t have been nicer! ALL of the people who work here were extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted to give a special thank you to Mark, the night manager. He was always cheerful - at the beginning AND at the end of his shift in the morning, which is not easy! He even kindly got us a bucket of ice very early one morning when my wife hurt her knee as she was stepping out of bed and the bed rolled away from her. We spoke to Mark about the incident, and hopefully, by now, they have fixed the “rolling coasters with no brakes on the box springs” problem. Mark was so kind and concerned about her fall that he checked on her twice - right after the incident and even the next day, which was the last day of our stay. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety of hot and cold food offerings and was maintained to perfection by the attentive and efficient staff! The buffet was hosted by Bassam, who was very personable and interesting to talk with. The executive lounge was lovely, with beverages and a few snacks available throughout the day. There is an evening manager’s reception and some savory finger foods were offered each night. Our room had a stunning view of Cardiff Castle and the castle grounds! We would happily return to Hilton Cardiff, and we thank them for making our stay really memorable and pleasant. As a side note, we took the Cardiff Castle Ghost Tour and highly recommend it! It’s great to be able to tour the castle at night, and the two hosts were full of fun facts and historical information about the beautiful and “over the top” decor of the castle!

We have stayed in all the top hotels in Cardiff, and none compare to the Hilton. We have been regularly visiting the Hilton Cardiff for more than ten years. The Hotel is currently undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment. The refurbished areas that we've seen so far look amazing. Everything was very well organised, so the refurbishment works did not have a negative impact on our stay. From the moment we stepped inside the foyer, it felt like home. The welcome we always receive from the Staff is second to none. The Staff are always lovely and treat us like old friends. This time we stayed one night in two newly refurbished rooms, a Junior Suite and connecting King Room. We liked the calming décor in the rooms, and the updated bathrooms are fabulous. The new showers are great and really powerful! In addition, the rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. The Executive Lounge, currently located in the Conservatory on the ground floor, was excellent, with plenty of drinks and tasty canapes. We didn't have breakfast this time, but breakfast has always been good during our previous stays. In summary, we've tried the rest and keep returning to the best because of the warm, friendly reception, the excellent service, and the comfortable surroundings we experience every time we visit.

After watching the hot air balloon from Bristol, I found this resort on the way to Cardiff. The room and breakfast are great! The price of the hotel can live in such a five-star hotel really worth it! The only dissatisfaction is that it takes 15 pounds a night to park overnight.

Great 3 nights stay staff were friendly and reception couldn’t do enough for us. We played golf on the montgomerie course along with the 2010 on Monday - these courses were fantastic - We used the sports bar and merlins bar for drinks - great atmosphere .

Anniversary and birthday. Beautiful hotel looking over Cardiff Bay /Penarth. We had a room overlooking the bay on the 7th floor. Stunning views. Used the Spa and really enjoyed the hydrotherapy funnels. Try and avoid child swim times if you want a little peace. Breakfast was vast offering everything you could possibly need. Catering for vegans too. Lovely stay

I attended my aunts wedding here and had a night to remember. The service went smoothly with friendly and courteous staff. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Well located with wonderful romantic views of the bay. Shout out to Ben, who was a big big help, and went the extra mile to ensure all guests desires were met. An unforgettable stay.

After having a number of afternoon tea’s in this hotel I’m saddened to say that todays experience was not like it has been in the past. The food was still good but the experience and service was a huge let down compared to before. The Hendricks afternoon tea’s have stopped which is sad as many of us would of had these. I ordered a second cup of coffee and ended up waiting 25 minutes for this. Some of my friends mentioned their coffee’s were cold. One asked for a second pot of tea, she was asked if she wanted a fresh pot or the one she’d been drinking topped up, she requested a fresh pot but received the same pot of tea back having just been topped up with hot water. The tea was weak and stewed. The Welsh cakes were dry and stale plastered in sugar! The atmosphere was lovely however it’s sad that we have all agreed we will not go back again (party of 13)! Plus there was a 10% service charge on top of the price for our afternoon tea. We gave a little more but thinking back on this I wish I had said no. Sorry to have to write this review.

The Park Plaza in Cardiff is ideally listed close to shops, restaurants and attractions, all within walking distance. The service offered at the Park Plaza was excellent, as were the amenities. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious choices each morning, with an additional option of room service. The Park Plaza also offers guests the use of their gym and pool, which were both lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Park Plaza Cardiff.

probably the best hotel i’ve stayed in for just going to party! we had a lush time and hotel staff were amazing from start to finish, we felt so welcomed and had an amazing stay at this hotel the rooms are gorgeous and spacious, TV worked perfectly, we had coffee tea and hot chocolate and an ice machine right outside our room- talk about fancy. there was an amazing mirror light in the bathroom which gave out the best lighting! we was on the 11th floor and it was perfect, so quiet and such amazing views i cannot wait to stay here again 🤗

Ice maker is ready on each floor. It’s come with water also. NO Fridge is a bit disappointed. Stay 5 days 4 Nights… not suggest staying in the summertime; you must request Fan. AirCon is only available at 10:00 p.m. If you complain, that no doubt that the response is more rapid than expected. But the problem remains the same. A fan may probably be available for you. No late check …my first time to request to pay for a late check such as 12:00. (Due to my train is at 14:00) All staffs are polite when approached and in a helpful attitude…BUT as I said. Everything remains unchanged. Good luck all

On arrival very small car park luckily one parking space left, Outside looks very run down, I was initially pleasantly surprised when walking in, the lobby looked very clean and tidy around the reception desk, until we saw the beer all over the floor and dirty cups on tables from the free coffee (we’ll get to the bit) There was a large group of “stag” goers ahead of us, who clearly hadn’t booked rooms as they were trying to work out what rooms were available, there was one lady trying her best to sort the group out with 3 other staff watching her, we waited for around 10mins Until an exasperated look from a party member towards who looked like the manager prompted him to use the hand held device to book us in, A key card was given …. No directions to my room, no info on breakfast times, no other info at all …. Just crack on …. I walked through the mini Lake District of beer to the lift, swiped my card and waited 2-3 mins …. The screen wasn’t working and the lift didn’t come so I used the stairs to the 4th floor, Found my “room” when I walked in it’s tiny, budget is the word, this was beyond budget, not even a mini kettle, the sink is in the room as is the shower, with a separate toilet cubicle, the frosted glass on the shower is made more so by the build up of lime Scale and watermarks no handle just a hole to use, this is ok as I’m alone but the other party had a 14yr old lad in a “family” room so not really acceptable in my eyes, the cubical was VERY small, my friend could barley get in, at 110kg but a power lifter he’s broad but not “huge” I’m 6ft 1 wear a large t-shirt and found it hard to shower In it. The room are run down, probably nice a few years ago (has wood chip wallpaper) . The skirting is coming away scuff marks every where, dust on the very small archaic tv, the air con unit didn’t work and the toilet rolls Sat on the floor behind the cistern (despite there being a hook to put them on) There was a “stool” that looked like an upturned washing bin, to a small desk I could only find 2 plugs I know the whole Room, couldn’t charge my watch/phone and iPad over night, (yes small Inconvenience but still annoying) The tv wouldn’t get a picture, I went to the front desk but no one was there, I bumped into the night porter earlier who seemed very friendly though so I’m guessing he was busy elsewhere. So I thought “ooh I’ll grab a coffee while I’m here”, small sachets of Nescafé original and plastic milk, I’ll pass thanks, Bed basic and comfy enough, not like Home but I suppose it is a budget hotel, The breakfast looked dire, continental for £6.50, I’ll hit the coop over the road or McDonald’s on the way home, All for an extortionate £140, there was an event on close by and this may have bumped the price a little but by 90£ on the base rate of £52 is crazy greed Needless to say I shall not be staying in one again, I Hope the normal ibis I have booked next month is better

We just stayed in Cardiff and we often choose a Ibis Budget when we travel to a City with our dog. The stays are most of the times very good but I just wanted to mention this one in Cardiff. The staff were all so friendly from the reception, breakfast (good breakfast) and cleaning staff. And one time when we came back to a cleaned room they put a folded towel in our doggy basket like ours. I know some people find this odd but for us it was really heartwarming because to us she is family, so thank you so much for this lovely touch!

Visited for lunch yesterday (Sunday 25th September) and as we have eaten here literally hundreds of times over the years we pretty much knew what to expect. Have never been let down by either the food or service. However yesterday was exceptional, I had some of, if not the best cooked fish I have ever eaten, and that includes a number of Michelin star restaurants both in the uk and abroad. Fish is simple to cook, but hard to cook really well, the chef here nailed it. Every member of staff we encountered were brilliant, polite, helpful and a credit to the hotel. Will be back next month .

Absolutely stunning place. Staff & food amazing!! We stayed for 2 nights as a small family and we weren’t disappointed! We had a room in the cottage which was beautiful. Had all the amenities with a little garden. The room was spacious even with a cot it was plenty big enough for our needs. We are planning a return trip in the near future. Katie in the restaurant was fantastic. She catered for all our needs and was wonderful with our baby.

I stayed in hotel indigo on the 5th - 7 th October and my stay was absolutely awful I stayed with my family and we was put into 2 different rooms on completely different floors my room was on 5th floor and my family members was on 1st floor, Each room was absolutely vile, clannishness of the rooms was absolutely disgusting, dust everywhere, my shower and room wasn’t cleaned to the standards it should of been cleaned to as a guest who’s staying. They didn’t empty the bins, they didn’t even clean the sink left all my tooth paste. Anyway back to the clannishness of the room, the head board to the bed was so dusty I could pick it off myself with my fingers and there was little hairs in my shower and first I thought I’d leave it until it got worse and I started to look around the room few days later now I’ve stayed in another hotel and realised actually how bad the cleansing actually is at hotel indigo so now I’ve decided to actually report it, im not one to moan at reception it’s something I’d personally keep to myself but I’ve realised how bad this hotel actually is though I’d leave a little review. I will attach photos that I did take.

I hosted a team event for c 10 people. Right from the booking it had excellent and personal service focused at making our event successful. Fantastic food both breakfast and the cakes and coffees during the day. Nicely decorated and modern rooms. Good and plenty meeting spaces in the restaurant and lounge. Very central location. Views from the rooms are none-existing but it was quiet. I would definitely come again.

Spacious. Deep colour fixtures plus not bright lighting makes the room very dark (I prefer bright environment). Some light bulbs are not functioning. The telephone system is out of order. No pen no paper. The food in the restaurant is OK.

Stayed for three nights as a getaway after Christmas. We travelled by train and the hotel was fairly easy to find, about 10-15 minutes walk from the station. The check-in was quick and painless and we were given a room on the 8th floor of this 10-floor hotel so the room was quiet away from the street noise. We didn't eat in the hotel, mainly because the choice of food didn't suit our tastes and we wanted to sample food in the neighbouring restaurants. The Main Street is only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and St. David's Shopping Mall is about the same distance. The room was clean and comfortable and we would have had a great night's sleep if it hadn't been for the fact that the room was cold, despite turning the heating control up to its maximum of 30 degrees! We were surprised that there was no telephone in the room and were amazed that, despite knowing that two people were booked into the room for three nights, the management had only provided one bath towel and one hand towel. On our way out on the first morning we attempted to ask for additional towels at reception but couldn't find anyone until I went into the restaurant and asked if anyone was available in Reception. Despite these small issues, we would return mainly due to the great location.

Great location. Really helpful staff at reception. Thank you Matt. Room a good size with a great shower. Bit more storage space maybe? But thats a minor point. What let this hotel down? The WiFi. Slow or mostly non existent. Annoying. Would I stay here again? Yes
