"We just spent a glorious week here and already I can't wait to return. Having beach access right there at your toes is amazing, if you are a beach person (and I am!). There are enough eateries both at the Del facility and within walking distance that you can park your car and never give it another thought until you must depart. I do want to say that we, too, had a problem with the pot smell, and I think we were in same vicinity as the other reviewer, but they moved us. Really need to get that figured out. These are old buildings, but the positives so far outweigh the negatives that it doesn't even matter. But I want to be honest with you. The sofa sleepers are very nice, yet in our opinion they are more for children. My adult son was very uncomfortable on the sofa sleeper. (So we moved him to a bed after we moved due to the pot smell.) Housekeeping is not on their game, but I am guessing this pandemic has got everyone doing double time and trying to figure it all out. Wifi is not great but it is ok. Lighting is oddly placed. But the beach his RIGHT THERE! And the place is beautiful! I felt like we were in Paradise! We truly relaxed for a week! Kudos to the groundskeepers! The office staff are all wonderful and so helpful and kind. Yes, there were sometimes long wait times, but again, it's a pandemic and they all were hustling and trying to make things happen. Absolutely did make things happen. Linens are divine! Rooms can get nice and cool! For the Keurigs, they have Dedrich's coffee which is really good. We were in the second row from the beach. Supposedly we did not have an ocean view, yet we could see the ocean from our patio. Next time I want a beachfront which is right there looking directly onto the beach. That's all I can think of but I just wanted to let the TA community know my opinion, and if you read my other reviews, you will see I am a tough critic. Oh, and they are doing covid beautifully! We rarely saw people without masks."
"We stayed for five nights in a one-bedroom beach view villa. The room itself was super nice! We got a corner unit with wonderful beach and ocean views through the expansive windows leading up to the balcony. The balcony itself has a small 2-person table and two lounge chairs, with a ceiling fan. The living room has a pull out couch, fireplace and TV, with a small but well equipped kitchen behind it. There is a small refrigerator, freezer, full-size cooktop and place settings for four. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is at the very back, so everyone needs to cross the bedroom to get to it in the middle of the night. There is a large, bright pool right in front of the villas. The downside is that the pool attendants start playing loud, top 40 music early morning (as in before 8am one day!). It woke up the kids sleeping in the living room a few mornings. That’s really unnecessary as it’s a family place and not a party pool. Beyond the pool, there is access to the long, beautiful Coronado beach beyond the resort gates. This is a wide, white-sand, busy beach with good walking areas in-between the military bases. You’ll know you are in a military area by the incessant air traffic flying over the hotel. It’s interesting if you’re into airplanes, but noisy too. Service during COVID times was uneven. We requested daily housekeeping while we were away from the room and had problems with them not leaving us new toiletries, not taking out the trash, and not swapping the kitchen rags. The ice maker in the room hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived and never worked while we were there. Only one of the restaurants was open, but the pool bar was operational and had some good choices. While the main resort felt busy, the Beach Villas felt very manageable in the middle of the pandemic. Altogether, it was a relaxing getaway with soothing ocean views. "
"FABULOUS!!! The property is a must if you are in the area. Don't just visit - you need to stay and enjoy what they offer. The view, the service, the food - all top notch. Everyone is so friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to insure that your visit is top notch, and you can't help but want to go back, and back, and back."

550 J Street, San Diego, California, United States
"The hotel is located in the city center. In the gas lamp block, there are many red men and women every day. There are very few Chinese people. Many foreigners should come to vacation. After paying for Ctrip, they will have to pay the resort fee after check-in, which is about 40 dollars a night. But the other us grant, which is relatively resident, has a price/performance ratio and will not stay in this hotel. As a hotel, professionalism is a little lacking. The facilities are just like American hotels. Basically, all of them need to be equipped and there is no hot water bottle."

800 Seacoast Drive, Imperial Beach, California, United States
"I rolled the dice. I planned a reunion at an ocean-front hotel I knew nothing about in an area, Imperial Beach, that was, back in the day, when I lived in San Diego, unsafe. As it turned out, everyone in our party LOVED Pier South Resort, Autograph Collection. Everything about the experience was outstanding. The area was safe, somewhat eclectic, visually superb and the weather was exceptional. Particularly noteworthy were the hotel staff. From management on down everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and sincerely interested in our well-being. Our ocean-front room was splendidly situated so that we could view the quirky Imperial Beach Pier, the glorious Pacific Ocean and surf (and the quintessential surfers) AND the various groups of people in the area. The hotel restaurant was superb. Those who served us were fantastic and unbelievably friendly. Plus, the cuisine and presentation were "to die for." We are already planning our follow-up reunion for next year -- same place; same time. If you want to be pampered and rejuvenated consider Pier South Resort. I've traveled all over the world and Pier South Resort is as good as it gets. I have not experienced anything comparable to the wonderfully blended combination of helpful staff, staggering sights, a fantastic room and an overall feeling of warmth, comfort, ocean breezes and camaraderie between the hotel staff and those of us who were fortunate enough to be staying there. The sunset rooftop "happy hours" with complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres and spectacular fire pits were memorable and fun. Yes, it's somewhat "out of the way" but in my opinion that is a distinct advantage. Pier South is far enough away from the crowds but within an easy commute to the "fun" and historical aspects of San Diego life. The next time you are considering Southern California as a destination think about Pier South Resort -- a true paradise on the extreme southwest coast of the country. You will NOT be disappointed. Maybe I'll see you there because I AM going to be a regular at Pier South in the future. Yes, I rolled the dice AND this time I won -- BIG TIME. Pier South Resort was, for us, Heaven on Earth."
"We booked a 2 night stay here at the end of a 2 week long, grueling (but exhilarating!) trip across the US by car on Route 66. It was an excellent move on our part. We have friends and family in the area, so that also factored into our decision to stay in Imperial Beach vs San Diego. When we checked in, we were offered a room upgrade for an additional fee, so we took it. Room 212...a most spacious room with a huge outdoor balcony overlooking the Pacific (it also hangs over the restaurant below, but that didn’t bother us). The front desk staff was superb. The bell hops were also terrific, as we needed to valet our car and bring in a lot of stuff we used while on the road that we were leaving behind in California. We availed ourselves of the dining options at the restaurant and they were superb. Dinner was amazing. The calamari, the short ribs, burgers, salad, and delicious desserts. Also had breakfast twice. Prime rib hash, blueberry pancakes, eggs Benedict, and another southwestern breakfast dish that I can’t recall the name of. Great, locally roasted coffee! Our breakfast servers were on their A game. This was a tremendously successful stay. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it is not possible to experience all of the amenities at the hotel right now, due to Covid, but I suspect that the spa and fitness center would probably make it worthy of that last star. My only other comment is that I think they need to do a bit more cleaning in the public areas. The hotel was very busy the weekend we were there. The public restrooms near the pool and the elevators needed a good scrub down (but our room was spotless). "
"I love reading the 2 and 3 star comments on a property. The 1 star people are usually just angry, so you can ignore them. The 2 and 3 star people find things to nit pick, that or the property really has issues. The people leaving 2 and 3 star here are nit picking. Sure, some of the metal in the room is rusting....ITS THE OCEAN 50 ft from the door that does that, not a bad housekeeper. Anyways, on to the review. The location is perfect. IB is quiet, nice to be away from the hustle of Gaslamp or crowds of La Jolla and Coronado. The property is great. Staff was super helpful. We were upgraded when our door lock kept failing. The onsite restaurant is pricey, so just walk over to Coronado Brewing or Doggo's and take it back to the room. Rooms are super spacious, tons of room, and the view is amazing. I will definitely be back."

"The beach hotel on the island should be some years old, the room is large and the facilities are good. Get up early and go for a walk around the seaside with beautiful scenery. The restaurant tastes good and the service is warm. Quite like"
"I've been coming to this hotel for over 20 years. Always the same.... PERFECT. Some of the stuff still works there for over 20 years. So good to see them. "
"Coronado Marriott Resort & Spa on Corolla Island in San Diego. The scenery is beautiful at night. The rooms can see the sea and the Corolla Bridge."

"The room is too small, 15 square meters? If you put 2 boxes, there will be no place to stand, no elevator, and the baggage needs to pick it up. Location is OK, five minutes walk from the beach, there are Mexican restaurants inside and outside the breakfast. It is not recommended to stay in a family. It is too small to catch up with Hong Kong and Japanese hotels."

"The room is larger than the average hotel. There is an induction cooker with a refrigerator and a microwave oven, but it is not comparable to a hotel apartment. Simple dishes are available. Hotel breakfast is simple but completely acceptable, everyone is very order. The hotel parking 38 dollars for self parking, 45 dollars for valet parking. There is also a public parking lot around the price is slightly cheaper, the roadside parking lot resources are tight, and it should be free at night. The worst thing is that there is no supermarket around the hotel, you have to drive to buy things."
"Marriott's in-house hotels provide cooking services. The location of this home is great, the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and directly look at the sea view. The aircraft carrier of Midway Island is on the side. It is estimated that the distance is 100 meters in a straight line, and it will be across the road. It is also very close to the airport. The hotel provides a taxi service. It is only 12 dollars to the airport, which is very convenient."
"The hotel location is very good, right by the pier and close to the sights. The rooms are nice and clean. It seems to have a large bed and a sofa bed. The room is quite large. You should be able to add an extra bed. Anyway, a room can accommodate up to 4 people. This is an apartment-style hotel with a well-equipped stove for cooking and eating. Not far from the hotel, there is a nice restaurant next to the seaman kissing portrait called The fish market, it is worth eating!"

"We are coming to the beach, the beach is beautiful, the sand is sticky and fine, it is suitable for children to play. The hotel is known for its antiques. The bedding of the house was particularly tidal, and it was not cleaned up. There were many mosquitoes. Three mosquitoes were flicked in the house and flies. After a while, the mosquitoes bite badly and there is no service. The nearby sea water is particularly dirty, the seaweed is not awkward, the sea water is black and gray, mixed with the glittering particles, worried that the children play with water and drink. The restaurant is unpalatable and not cheap. Careful consideration of poor sleep, the airport next door to the Navy, from the morning to the evening at least two helicopters, countless fighters take off and land, noise brain fill, but I like to watch the plane"
"Check-in could have gone a bit smoother if the hotel had signs that properly directed people to the check-in desks. I wandered around for about ten minutes before I found them. There should also be a disclosure that not only is there a $35 per day "Resort Fee", but there is also a $40 per day fee to park on-premises. There is no valet parking so guests must park in the underground parking garage. Parking in the garage does not make it easy to transfer things from your vehicle to your room. To make things worse, the bellmen watch the luggage carts like a hawk and won't let anyone except bellmen use them. I would find it difficult to recommend the Del, based on my experience."
"The hotel is very good, the environment is also very good, the restaurant in the hotel is super delicious, it is the best western food I have ever eaten, it is very close to the sea, you can take a lot of beautiful pictures, and the service attitude of the hotel is simply top-notch Oh"

1630 Glorietta Boulevard, Coronado, California, United States
"I was already very high on the Inn based on a stay a few years ago, so my wife and I booked a reservation for the coming weekend. We were offered and took an upgrade to a Bay View King and were very much looking forward to our stay. Then along came the Corona Virus and a warning that we shouldn't travel. Given the timing (less than 48 hours before check in) and the Inn's published cancellation policy (72 hours prior or loss of one night's room charges) I thought that we would be out of luck. Wrong! Victor took my call and immediately assured me that the Inn recognizes the public health issues involved and had modified its policy to accommodate people in our situation. He cancelled our reservation at once and confirmed that there would be no charge. In turn I assured him that once this crisis has passed we will return and I urge anyone thinking about Coronado to strongly consider the Glorietta Bay Inn."
"My wife and I when faced with where to go for a honeymoon were concerned about travel during the pandemic. After much discussion we decided to go to Coronado island. We felt safe on the island due to its strict rules with wearing masks and the outdoors seating at restaurants. Plus the beach has plenty of room to spread out on. After a little research and talking with friends we decided to book at the glorietta. When we booked with the glorietta we were able to get an excellent 3 day package which included parking and a gift card. We were so happy that we decided to book an additional night! The general manager heard that we were staying an extra night and kindly offered to keep us in the same room."
"My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at The Glorietta Bay Inn while we were in San Diego on business. Staying in Coronado as opposed to downtown made our trip feel more like a vacation than a business trip. Everyone at the inn was warm and welcoming – the gentleman at the front desk even gave us an upgrade. We enjoyed the morning breakfast and appreciated the coffee and water that was available all day. The pool is small but sufficient and hanging out in the hot tub was an added bonus. The room was a nice size. The bathroom was a little tight but clean. If we are ever in town again, we would definitely stay at The Glorietta Bay Inn again."
