"The hotel staff is very warm and welcoming. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain. It takes only three or five minutes from the pier to the hotel. Overall, it is good. After arriving, I will meet a deer."

"The location is very good, just a few minutes walk to the Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Mt. Misen Ropeway station. There is a free shuttle bus station right outside the hotel to go the ropeway station. You can see the Torii throughout the hotel window. At night when the Torii with lights on, the view is stunning! The indoor onsen is not big but it's ok for 10+ people at the same time, the outside onsen is small and can only occupies 4-5ppl. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and thoughtful. I was fully wet after the hiking to Mt. Mismen on the raining day, they helped me to dry all my shoes and coat. Happy to stay at Iwaso and will definitely stay again. "
"Breakfast was average and not too rich."
"Hot spring hotel, as always."

"Our stay at Jukeiso was the highlight of our trip. We were picked up at the ferry terminal by Kenji who was wonderful. Check in process was smooth. I asked him to give us the room with the best view and we were not disappointed. He provided us with maps and since we were early they took care of our bags while we wandered the island. We returned to a beautiful room with fabulous views, bags in place and table set up with a refreshing drink and hot towels provide by our hostess Doi-San.We had booked our dinner and private onsen schedule already at check in. The dinner was a fantastic and sumptuous 9 course meal, Doi-San took care of all our needs and tried her best to explain what each course consisted of. This is a place meant for relaxing.Walk around comfortably in your Yukata, use the onsen, have fabulous meals provide with so much love and courtesy and leave feeling completed rested and pampered"
"My family had a travel party of ten, including two small children. Everyone enjoyed the stay. After traveling in Japan, you just get used to good service. But we thought the staff at Jukeiso were particularly outstanding. As with many ryokan, some of its areas are dated. But that is the charm of staying there in the first place. Our rooms were large and very clean. Everyone, including the little kids enjoyed dressing in the yukatas for dinner. The food was excellent and the “kids meals” the hotel was kind enough to make for our kids were amazing. The hotel is high on a hill so it offers sweeping views of Miyajima which are a bonus of staying there. We took advantage of the private onsen and its views of Miyajima at night which were beautiful. Jukeiso was recommend to us by friends and we will be recommending it to others. "
"We had a special and wonderful stay. The view is just amazing. The staff is so nice. The service is fantastic (tea in the room at our arrival, slippers to go around in the hotel, etc...). The rooms are great: very big, clean with all comforts. The private hot bath is also incredible and has also e beautiful view. The diner is royal, so many different specialities. We loved it all and we highly recommend it."

"The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the Yanshima Shrine, the Millennium Pavilion, and the Five-Pagoda. It didn't take a few steps. After we arrived at the ferry terminal, we met the hotel's shuttle bus and checked the baggage back. Then we strolled along the coast easily and went back to the hotel with our Yanshima Shrine. In the evening, come out to see the big bird house floating on the water after the high tide. The hotel is built on the mountain and the entrance is relatively small. We confirmed at the door that the hotel should belong to a larger hotel in Yandao. Although it is a bit old, the room is very large, with tatami and western style, very comfortable. The hot springs are well-regulated. It is said to be effective for arthritis. It doesn't feel embarrassing for a day. It is a hotel dinner. It is a good dinner for a hotel that has stayed at no more than 20 hot spring hotels. , recommended."
"It's cheap, it's wide"

"I stayed here for 3 nights. This was my first hotel on my first trip to Japan, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Arrived very tired after 2 flights, Dublin to Tokyo, then tube, train to Hiroshima, tube, and finally ferry to Mirajima. 24 hours door to door! And what a welcome greeted me! Smiling, friendly staff so eager (and able) to help. A beautiful single room on 5th floor with bed on a mezz level. Powerful, hot shower. Computerised toilet!! Laundry room ( €3 for wash, €1 for 30 minute drying). Onsen on same floor, just for guests, with great views over Hiroshima harbour. On arrival, I was invited to select a set of black pyjamas (plenty of choice to cater for western sizes) which I could - if I wished - wear around the hotel... for meals, lounging, etc. There’s a lounge area just for guests, with complimentary tea, coffee, juices etc. A small bar that was sometimes quiet (just me) and sometimes buzzing (maybe 20 guests). Breakfast and dinner were included in my rate, and I suggest you do the same. Top class food, great choice, both meals served buffet style, and it saves the trouble of finding somewhere else, particularly in evening. Miyajima itself seems to get very quiet after the 99.5% of visitors head back on the ferry by 6 o’clock. (I decided to stay here rather than in Hiroshima, and took a day trip to Hiroshima. Most people seem to do the opposite). So, overall, I can’t praise the hotel enough, it’s genuinely one of the best, nicest hotels I’ve stayed in, and I’ll be back. It’s literally across the toad from the ferry landing. 30 seconds walk!! Great for couples, good for kids but bring a few board games to amuse them.. you won’t be disappointed! "
"My husband and I stayed at the hotel for one night in order to experience the magic of Miyajima island at night. We loved this hotel. I has Japanese style rooms with futons. The rooms are large and ours even had a massage chair. We chose a mountain facing room and we were happy with the view. The best part was the onsen! The onsen had a fantastic view of osaka, the water was the perfect temperature and it was the most relaxing way to end our day. Also the buffet breakfast that was included was the BEST part of our stay. They have so many delicious options including Japanese and Western style breakfast items. We were so full that day that we didn't eat lunch."

"Very close to the big bird house, walked in and arrived, after dinner to go around for a night to see the night scene, cool. It is also good to eat, with Hiroshima specialty oyster dishes. Hotel facilities are also relatively new, there is a drink coffee downstairs to take it yourself, soaking up the hot spring to have a drink is very cool. In the morning, I specially reserved a bus to go to Houshan. As a result, we were a group of people. The grandmother and the grandmother also stayed with us for a while in the cold wind. The service was really good. Have the opportunity to go live again"
"The bed is electric! The Kumbu tea and red leaf taro that are included in the room are very special and delicious. The hotel also comes with a fan in such a hot day! The dinner pattern is very luxurious, but the breakfast is a bit simple but also very special (people who are not too cold) may have to pay attention to the food except the miso soup, rice and tea. The hotel has Coin-operated washing machine is very convenient The bad thing is that the employees who walked in the hotel basically didn’t say hello to the passengers. This is the only hotel I have encountered in Japan. It’s so awkward and strange."
"My first experience staying at a Ryokan. We had a beautiful spacious room with great views from our window. We enjoyed our first experience of a onsen and felt so refreshed after the hot tub. Loved choosing our own Yukata for our evening meal of Japanese food. The tatami mats were quite comfortable much more so than I expected. The Ryokan is centrally located and within easy reach of most of the island. This was one of my favourite places to visit on our tour to Japan."

"The hotel is clean, the location is in the center of Hiroshima, and the service attitude is very good. Although the room is not that big, it is still acceptable compared to the price and stays."
"It was very beautiful and comfortable to use. It was a 10-minute walk from the tram and a 1-minute walk from the local bus, making it suitable for sightseeing. I still want to use it."
"I really recommend this place, it was super clean, with good locstion and plus the room was bigger than a regular Japanese hotel room. Great city view as well."

"A nights stay in a Ryokan in Hiroshima - Sera Bekkan, When we set out on our 15 night trip to Japan we had decided that we must experience a stay in a Ryokan. We were in Japan during the peak cherry blossom season & all the hotel rates had moved up substantially & we felt the full brunt especially as we had decided on this trip just a few weeks earlier. We zeroed in on Ryokan Sera Bekkan in Hiroshima. A comparatively small establishment & within walking distance to the Peace Memorial. The day was bad with a constant drizzle which reduced our enthusiasm & we shelved the idea of going across to Miya Jima. The room was very large with a sitting area &the traditional sliding doors separated the living & bedroom. This area was covered with tatami mats, a 4 seater small legged table with chairs without legs to go with it. The tea set was well laid out on the table. There was a small sit-out looking outwards. There was a mini-kitchenette & separate WC & Bath areas. After the extra small rooms that we had stayed in Tokyo & Osaka this place was palatial. In the evenings the table & chairs were moved to the side & mattresses were put on the floor. In the storage area on the side there were enough & more mattresses in case one was not used to the low slung sleeping position & wanted the sleeping mattresses to be higher! Probably the decision to skip Miya Jima was to enjoy the Ryokan ! We had a lovely night’s sleep & in the morning we were served a typical Japanese breakfast with miso soup, egg to order, a piece of fish, a tofu preparation which was simmering on a burner & a few other items which we had not been exposed to – overall this breakfast was different & quite enjoyable, if for no other reason, than it being an unique experience! We enjoyed our stay in Sera Bekkan no complaints other than that our credit card at check-out didn't seem to connect. So lost some time as we had to give 2 other cards before the matter was sorted out & we did have to rush a bit as we were heading for Osaka & the shinkasen which had a track record of being 36 seconds late was not going to wait for us. The rush to the station was successful & we were in time to board the shinkasen. Overall our experience in Ryokan Sera Bekkan was definitely enjoyable."
"Stayed here with my two teenage sons for one night. There is no sign out the front in English so we relied on the taxi driver telling us that this was it. Reception staff were very nice and welcoming and the lobby area is beautiful getting our hopes up for the room. The room was Japanese style which we expected. It was actually three rooms if you count the bathroom, toilet room and large bedroom area. It was all a bit tired though with peeling paint and a scratched bathtub. It was clean though. The beds were really hard even for a futon. We slept on futons before that were more comfortable. You could feel the floor after not very long. There were some nice touches like the gorgeous tea set though I didn't like the taste of the tea and a smaller side room with low chairs that least had short legs and a table. The shower was awful, just a small handheld piece so we had baths in the deep and short tub which was good for tired legs. We walked to the peace park with no problem maybe 10-15 minutes away. It was okay for one night but I would not want to stay any longer. PS there was an earthquake 100 kms away the night we stayed and I felt the much smaller (but big to me!) tremors in the middle of the night (boys slept through it!) This was very scary and might have coloured how I felt about Sera Bekkan too. "
