Top 10 Southfield Plaza Hotels

This is a must-stay hotel in Chicago. We stayed in a 'Zen Suite One Bedroom' and were very impressed with the amenities in our room. The bathroom was enormous. There is a large stand up shower, as well as a stand-alone tub for soaking, duel sinks with plenty of counter space, and a door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. Extra surprises for us included the heated bathroom floor, Dyson hair dryer, flat iron, comfy robes/slippers, Nespresso machine, Nobu signature bed, and modern décor. Everything feels brand new in this hotel since it only recently opened. We dined at the restaurant one night and the service and food were both top notch. I will always consider Nobu Hotel for any future travel to Chicago, as well as any other Nobu Hotel graced cities!

I was very fortunate to have a room with a large floor-to-ceiling window. The view is really good. I can see the night view of Chicago while lying in the room! Very satisfied! The room is very good! I will choose here next time.

Front desk service is very good

I had a medical procedure scheduled at Rush hospital on October 12th, 2022. It was scheduled very early in the morning so, instead of getting up at 4:30 am and making the drive to Chicago, I decided to book a room at the Marriott Medical district. Upon arrival we were wonderfully greeted by a professional young man named Gregory at the valet parking area. We then went to check in at the front desk and again we were greeted by a nice courteous young man named Michael. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was extremely enjoyable. After my surgery, I wasn't feeling up to driving home so we decided to stay an extra night. As we checked out on the 13th of Oct. Everyone, starting with a housekeeper to the front desk and valet made it a point to ask me how I was feeling. I thought it was so thoughtful and kind of them all. In this day and age, it is very hard to find adequate employees, let alone good people with a great work ethic and who are conscientious and kind. I can say this because my career was in restaurant management. I have always believed that if you are good to your employees, they will give 100% for you and your company. Very good hotel, good hotel service, will definitely choose to stay next time, anyway, very satisfied with the stay. Stay in this hotel for a meeting, go directly from the building to the venue, do not wear down jackets in winter, you can order food at night without starving.

First the good: It's clean and elegant. It's located in the commercial section of Hyde Park, so restaurants abound and it's a short walk and bus ride to downtown. Hyde Park itself is a wonderful neighborhood, so you can spend your stay touring this one neighborhood and the lakefront and be satisfied. Now the bad: Water costs money! According to the front desk they only have 16 oz. bottles of Evian for $5 a bottle! That's absurd and really unfortunate for an otherwise classy and pleasant experience. Offering people ”complimentary” tea and coffee, while not providing filtered water to make said tea and coffee is not classy. The wifi security is questionable. I connected to their wifi without a password, so make sure you have a VPN on your device. The room I had was at street level so it can get a bit noisy. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
