"We were looking for a getaway for our first anniversary within driving distance from our home. White Barn Inn provided exactly what we were desired in a romantic adventure - well-appointed, private rooms, luxury amenities, onsite upscale dining and spa services, bikes for leisurely strolls and a fire pit with s'mores kits for the chilly autumn nights. Along with this, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, always checking in as we came and went from the property, and ensuring we had what we needed to make the trip enjoyable. Fall is a quieter time in Kennebunkport, though this has its advantages due to less crowds and more space to enjoy the scenery. White Barn Inn is conveniently located a short 5 minute walk into town, eliminating the need to drive everywhere. We're looking forward to coming back in the warmer months for use of the outdoor pool and time at the nearby beach!"
"The White Barn may have changed hands (on a corporate level) recently, but the attention to detail, especially with the staff, is what sets this place a step (or two) above every other place in my mind. The front desk staff, especially at check in (David) set the right tone for our stay. We have dined and stayed several times over the years both for business and leisure and the professionalism and efficiency of the staff is what sets the White Barn apart. "
"While the entire stay was wonderful, the friendly service was the highlight. There were a lot of small touches throughout our stay that made it special. Our recently renovated Garden Room was small but beautiful. We opted for in room dining and the food was brought quickly and it was delicious. Would definitely return."

"This is a wonderful place to stay in Kennebunkport! The owner, Bill, is an awesome guy. He and his mother made delicious and healthy farm to table breakfasts every morning during our stay. Bill was very welcoming and made us all feel like family. If you are coming with a large group, the Inn would work very well with plenty of rooms and sitting areas. We were there with a group and it was easy to spend time all together and also retreat to our rooms for quiet time. The rooms themselves are super cozy and clean. Bill is also super connected in the area, so he can make great recommendations about where to eat and what to do. I would highly recommend staying at the Harbor Inn if you are in Kennebunkport!"
"The Harbor Inn is a beautiful century home located in a quiet setting minutes from the ocean. Accommodations went beyond my expectations and host Bill makes staying there a wonderful experience. This house can accommodate a large group and has the perfect setup for arranging this. Saying this, the rooms are so cozy, you can retreat to your room and it feels like you have the place to yourself. Bill and his mother made delicious breakfasts to start the day on the right foot. To my delight, the Inn even had bicycles you could use to explore the town and Bill had great recommendations regarding where to go. I highly recommend staying here!"
"Stayed at the Harbor Inn for an event. Great location and terrific Hosts. Bill & his mom made us feel right at home. The food, rooms & central fire place were fantastic. Bill was around all the time to make sure we were good to go. Although this is their business, Bill and his mother created more of a family vibe. Bill is also part of the chamber of commerce so he knew all the spots and restaurants to go to (highly recommend Bandaloop). We will definitely be returning. Also, if your looking for a "cool" adventure, Bill might take you for a winter dip in the ocean!"

"50 years ago we visited Kennbunkport for our honeymoon. At that time, we couldn't afford more than a motel room. We have returned to Kennebunkport several times since and always stay at the Nonantum, including our most recent visit to thankfully celebrate our 50th. The Nonantum never disappoints. It is a stately, well-kept, and friendly resort, which is close to town, with beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and a nostalgic coastal seaside atmosphere. We missed a little this time due to the Covid precautions, but the resort did a great job keeping guests safe with appropriate measures. The breakfasts were a great start to the day, and we never tired of the view from our Portside Waterview room. The staff is the best.....from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, room attendants, and even the head groundskeeper, we were treated most cordially, and accommodated in every way. And there's certainly plenty to see and do along that rugged Maine coastline, in quaint Kennebunkport, and surrounding towns. Thank you Nonantum for another memorable visit............ we will surely look forward to returning again!!"
"Came here for a weekend with my boyfriend, our first getaway since before Covid.. We decided to come here because he came here with his family about 15 years ago and they all loved it. We both have been working on site throughout the pandemic, so when my schedule changed, I called to change the dates of our trip & to add an extra day. The woman was so nice on the phone and guaranteed me that we would have the same exact room with the same view and amenities. She assured me that the only difference would be the size of the bed and that we would still be waterfront. When we checked in, that was not the case. They put us in a family room in a different building than what we booked. They told us they ran out of rooms and agreed to honor a better price (as they should). Our room was ok, no views. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was no maid service and you had to request towels as needed. The people above us were a family, and their kids were running around all throughout the night. When I told the front desk, they told me you're in the family part of the hotel. Well, this is why I didn't book this part of the hotel!!! We e-mailed them and have not received a response. We went in mid-October. They didn't have a shuttle to bring you to town or have anything going on. Breakfast was good- it's nothing like what you see in the pictures though. The restaurant was also good but needed more variety in the menu. Loved the seating arrangements. Beautiful resort but outdated. Would 10/10 return to Kennebunkport but definitely not here."
"For the past 4 years, my wife and I have enjoyed Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude and staying at the Nonantum. This is the 3rd year that we enjoyed the Fire & Ice weekend and we have already booked the weekend in 2020! Can't say enough good things about the property and the staff. Even though the weather this year was not optimal, the Fire & Ice organizers made up for a little rain with a spectacular fireworks display and fabulous band for dancing. The Nonatum has become our annual kick-off to Christmas and we look forward to booking in years to come! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the wonderful Nonantum Staff!"

"So, I had a complicated travel itinerary that included two stays at this hotel with a three-week gap in between. My husband and I needed to leave clothes for a wedding at the front desk for those three weeks. Because I have a few neurotic tendencies, I think the entire front-desk staff was aware of this plan, but Sara, with whom we checked in during the dead of night for each of our two stays, was particularly wonderful to work with. She was so kind and friendly and reimbursed for us cab fare, since the airport shuttle stopped running around 1 a.m. She also gave us a late checkout the next day, which was incredibly helpful. I'd highly recommend staying here if you need a super comfortable, super friendly place to crash upon arriving in Portland. If you're in town for a wedding, as we were, it could make sense to spend the night of your arrival here, then stay closer to downtown or wherever the event is on the actual night of. It could also be used as a comfy base before starting or after finishing some sort of outdoor adventure, as well."
"We stayed at this hotel the first night of our vacation and again the last two nights of our vacation. The first night we were on the second floor and the room above us was quite noisy. When we checked out, I requested that when we returned, we be placed on the top floor. A note was made on our reservation and indeed we were placed on the top floor on our return. Our room was nice, clean and spacious. The first night there we arrived tired and did not feel like going out for dinner so we ate at the hotel cafe. Food is ordered at a counter and then delivered to your table. We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer and they were delicious. The friendly young lady who took our order suggested the chicken pot pie and it truly was very good. We had carrot cake for dessert along with coffee. The cake was also very good. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful"
"We stopped here for two nights to explore the Maine beaches and lighthouses on our way to Bar Harbor. The hotel, which is close to the airport, is also close to the mall and several restaurants. It was easily accessible from I 295. The staff was wonderful! The room was clean and well maintained. The mattress was too soft and needed to be replaced in my opinion. We did not ask for another room as we were only there for two nights."

"My fiancé and I wanted to stop by Portland for a day trip on our way to Acadia National Park. This hotel provided great value from what we saw online and went for it. And we are so glad we did! The room was very lovely - clean and comfortable. The most important part for us was to have a kitchen given we are being very safe during COVID times and would rather eat in vs out. There was a full fridge, sink and microwave which we put to use. The TV was fully equipped with NFL network and ESPN to keep us happy in the evenings. The shower had great water pressure and full bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash (great for somebody with long hair like me). Lastly, their breakfasts were perfect during COVID times. Individually packed Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. and the woman managing it was very lovely. The only negative was the front desk woman - just made everything difficult when we were checking in and did hamper the experience in the beginning. But other than that - very happy and would highly recommend. And it’s only about 15 min away from Portland downtown and 20 min away from the main lighthouse so very convenient for sightseeing."
"From check-in to checkout, we were very pleased with this Residence Inn. All staff that we encountered in our one night stay were friendly and very helpful with any questions we had and made our stay very pleasant. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Many thanks to Cindy for the Titanium Elite room upgrade, it was so nice to have the extra room! Breakfast was very good with lots of selection, even had Gluten Free bagels when I asked. We will be back!"
"What can I say? This place has it all. Fair price for the room, pleasant and helpful staff members, pool, gym, amazing and convenient location. This place even had a basketball court and tennis court! The hotel also was very clean. Meticulously clean! The next time I am in the Portland area I am going to be staying right here. A+++ service! Oh by the way, free hot continental breakfast in the morning was yummy!"

"We had our usual expectation of what we get at a Hampton Inn. But this one, at only three years old (we were told) was nicely decorated for Halloween and pleasantly designed. From the sliding barn door, vinyl floor planking and oversize glass doored shower was impressive for this price range hotel. Caroline at the front desk was very friendly and great at dinner suggestions. Room and property were quiet. Pool looked inviting but we didn't partake. Bed and room was very comfortable. Room was very clean (including the HVAC filters). We look forward to returning."
"We were very happy staying at this hotel. It is set outside of town near the highway entrances, so it was easy to find and quiet. Our reception from a Holly couldn’t have been nicer. Our room was wonderfully clean and well appointed. The breakfast is well balanced and the staff tending to the restaurant area are friendly. In fact, all of the staff goes out of their way to greet you and are genuine. We were very please and will return."
"The hotel is excellent, loved the indoor heated pool. But what was the best thing about this hotel is the staff. We stayed here during the COVID-19 crisis and the staff helped us immensely. We were able to find a local restaurant to deliver to the hotel, and the meal was incredible. It was from the Boathouse restaurant in Kennebunkport. We will never forget this Inn as being our "port in the storm.""

"Reserved two rooms for daughter's grad school interview so that she would be able to sleep peacefully night before a medical school interview. Arrived late due to a long drive and checked in. Too tired so fell asleep only to wake up to a cold room around 2am. No point asking someone to come fix the heater at that time and couldn't bother my daughter so just put on a jacket and slept in the cold. Told what seemed like the Manager about the problem and they said they would send up maintenance. Few hours later see the same person who said he heard the room had a problem - basically same person was the "maintenance" - whatever as its a family run type place. He ends up saying that the heater is broken and accusedly asks why we didn't call for help in the middle of the night. Maybe it was his culture but sounded like that to me. Unbelievable. Asked if the hotel had a refund policy and he looked incredulously at me and said the manager is out until tomorrow. Again, no idea what's going on with this place. Absolutely the worst hotel experience I've ever had and no empathy for a weary traveler Ina room that was broken on a cold night. Once in China it was cold and they bought electric heaters for guests as in Southern China it doesn't get cold so the hotels don't have heaters. This Holiday Inn was worse than a budget hotel in southern China. It was the dishonesty that was the killer though."
"Great service and fast check in. We drove to get ahead of a snow storm and arrived about 4am. The gentleman at the front desk had our room all ready and checked us in right away. Great breakfast provided the next morning. Well worth the stop.."
"Stayed one night in Biddeford, and had a great stay here! Beds were comfortable! Breakfast was excellent! Soaps and supplies were high-end! Check-in and -out was easy. Place was quiet and clean. All-in-all a nice stay. "

"I live only 15 miles away, but just stayed here for three nights while I was working down the road for a few days and needed to be at work before sunrise each morning. Located in the Maine Mall area of South Portland. About seven minutes to PWM Airport. Ten minutes from downtown Portland. And 15 minutes from Old Orchard Beach. This is primarily a business hotel, but would also be good for leisure travel to Portland if you don’t want to pay more to stay downtown. Or, if you don’t want to pay for parking while staying downtown where it will be required at any hotel. Located in a quiet business park, there are many fast food, casual chains and casual local eateries in close proximity. As well as many strip malls and any kind of general shopping needs you might have. A large shopping mall -The Maine Mall, largest shopping mall in the state- is just a few blocks down the street. The hotel is about 10-12 years old, but was updated recently. (There’s a surprising lack of updated room photos on the reviews here.) Our Single King, 1 bedroom suite, Rm 202, was up to date, very clean and well maintained. Not showing any wear and tear. Clean carpets. Comfortable bed. Kitchenette with full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove cooktop. They also have a full sized guest-use propane BBQ grill on the back patio as well. Same can be said of all public area. Very Clean, modern and a solid Homewood Suites property. Unfortunately, the evening reception and food service was unavailable due to COVOID. Breakfast was downgraded to a bagged breakfast to go. The breakfast buffet would have been nice, but not having it was no big deal for me. Reduced services were expected. However, to my surprise, the pool and hot tub were open. Reservation was required for a block of time. It nice having it to myself and my girlfriend for our forty five minute block after cooking dinner in our own room. Also, as a smoker, the property was welcoming, with quick side door access from my room without having to go down the corridor, waiting for the elevator, and then out through the lobby each time I went out. It took about 15 seconds to get outside. (And, they don’t force you to retreat two miles from the door, as some non-smoking properties do.)There were cigarette buckets placed outside all the side doors, and even in the back courtyard patio. Of course, the inside is completely smoke free. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I needed a decent hotel in South Portland’s Maine Mall/Airport area’s. "
"We visited Maine as a plan B since our western national park vacation had to be cancelled. Fortunately for us, the state of Maine is allowing NYers to visit without covid testing or quarantine. Masks and distancing are mandatory. This was our first stop and we enjoyed the hotel and the amenities very much. The very professional staff takes the virus seriously with policies limiting pool occupancy, dining, and extensive sanitation practices. Breakfast was grab and go which was so-so but all things considered they did they best they could given the circumstances. The hotel is a bit far from downtown Portland but for the price and piece of mind, the distance is not a problem."
"The staff at the Homewood Suites in Scarborough, Maine are wonderful. They take such good care of everyone, whether you are there for one day or months at a time. They are always checking on you to make sure that you don't need anything . The free breakfast and coffee and tea 24 hours a day is great to those like me who are a resident of the property at this time because of a fire in my home. The exercise room and the pool area are great. "
