"We stayed in this Premier inn hotel as a base for visiting Alton Towers Theme park. Its the perfect location for this. 30mins drive from the park and an abundance of places to get food from, right on the doorstep. At least 2 supermarkets and a variety of restaurants and take aways aswell as many High Street shops. The hotel itself is as you expect from Premier Inn hotels. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed. Also very close to the M6. Will definitely use this hotel when we next visit Alton Towers."
"On arrival we were told no rooms are available, went searching online for local hotels only to find out there were several rooms available. I Booked and went back inside to check in, then was told by staff there was problem with that, also so I checked myself in online and collected my room key from the machine. I am still not sure if there was a genuine problem or if it was due to my skin tone. The room was nice and modern and just 3mins drive from waterworld but had no fresh air and the air conditioning system made noise the entire night even when switched off. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and to top it off, I woke up in the morning to find a massive scratch on my car."
"When travelling for work I need a hotel that has a good location, comfortable and clean rooms, great shower, good beds and noise free to ensure a great night's sleep and this hotel delivers on all fronts. I was in room 609 in their new build. It has a large shower instead on an over bath type which was a bonus and it is also air conditioned, even better! Easy check in and check out. Will want to stay again "

"Me and my partner stayed over the weekend and then our son came for the last night. We loved every second. The lodge is well equipped with everything you need and the hot tub is amazing we wish we could’ve stayed longer. Plenty of space and amazing price. Very peaceful and relaxing stay we will definitely be visiting again. Also included a high chair and travel cot which was very helpful. We can’t wait to stay again."
"What can I say the owner should be so proud of the the lodge park, the lodges are stunning well equipped and extremely comfortable, I stayed with a group of friends who all enjoyed the experience, I would recommend the lodges to anyone. Cost per head any time of the year is very reasonable. The hot tubs are amazing and are well worth the extra charge. Enjoy your stay you will definitely book again!"
"I stayed with a group of friends and it was amazing! Great place, clean and well equipped. Nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. The hot tub was a great bonus and made our stay even better. Would definitely stay again."

"Great small hotel. Staff from arrival to to end of stay were brilliant. Food from Breakfast to Dinner was excellent, couldn't fault it and I am very fussy. Olivia the young waitress was great. Bedroom was excellent spotless. Bathroom was compact but perfect. Reception Manager I can't remember her name was very helpful went & found the shaver point after I'd searched but couldn't find it. Several colleagues I came with had the same problem. All in all a great stay & my 6 colleagues agreed. When we are back next will certainly stay again."
"The second time we have stayed here, the room was very comfortable, the staff are all delightful and the food was great. We brought friends for lunch on Sunday, and ate in the conservatory. They live close by but have never been, and they were delighted to find such a gem on their door step. Didn’t have time to explore the grounds , but if the opportunity arises for another visit we certainly will"
"The rooms are comfortable and all areas are spotlessly clean. The staff are courteous and very helpful. The food is excelIent, including the bar meals. Beautiful grounds and plenty of country walks accessible from the hotel boundaries. I stay at this family run hotel regularly - sometimes for 5 consecutive nights. I keep returning so what does that tell you?"

Lake Road, Rudyard, Nr Leek, Staffordshire, Horton, Staffordshire, United Kingdom

"Booked this the day before at a great price of £65 for a small double, including breakfast. We had a little trouble finding it, but got there eventually. Its located right by Rudyard Lake and has ample parking. Its very welcoming and when we arrived several people were outside sat drinking. We had a lovely welcome by a young girl and checked in. Our room was Room 6, which is a small double, good shower and two small opening windows which was nice as the room was really warm! We had a wander to the lake which is literally two minutes away, it was quite busy with fishermen and families walking around. The steam train came through which was nice. As it turned dark, we headed back to the hotel. We sat in the bar and the other half was happy with the ales they had and I ordered wine. The food looked amazing so we ordered a roast beef dinner and gammon with egg and pineapple with a side of cauliflower cheese. A few minutes later, food was served and it was really good. Huge portions. We sat for another chatting with locals and then went up to the room. We had a great sleep and went down for breakfast at 9am (they serve until 11am on a Sunday). We both ordered a full English and they were amazing! There was several people coming in for breakfast that were not staying at the hotel which means it's popular. The staff during Saturday evening and Sunday morning were all really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was even a gentleman asking if they could have a sandwich made as he was going walking, again absolutely no problem and sandwiches came from the kitchen within minutes. It was just a nice chilled stay over with good food, great service and we will definitely go back. Total cost for both meals and 6 drinks was £54. Parking is free and a good base for exploring the area. Leek is a 9 minute drive and we spent the day wandering around the Artisan Market, which is held on the first Sunday of every month. "
"Booked last minute for a visit to the area. The price was quite decent although of course you can't read too much into that as the prices for rooms always fluctuate wildly. Location is off the beaten track so it could easily be really out of the way. I wouldn't want to have to drive all the way there if I wasn't wanting to be in the area specifically. As a hotel - and putting aside the Covid restrictions; Generally ok. It's not a 5-star, but it was comfortable enough and the staff were friendly. The reception area is a bit poky and not a very good welcome, but beyond that, it's generally ok. The room itself was fine (a family room), but a typical 'creaky English' - in need of some maintenance and a revamp. So many hotels are like that. In particular the shower had no water pressure and the toilet flush was temperamental. There is free wifi, but no reception in the bedroom. Nice view from the room though. It's a nice area - could be worth coming just to explore the area one day. The bar was good and the evening bar food was pretty good quality. The breakfast was also very good, although we missed a few things that you'd normally pick up from a buffet. When it's not there, you forget to ask specifically. Good points - staff were welcoming, breakfast was good Bad points - room needs a bit of maintenance I'd be happy to come again though if I had a reason to be in the area. I wouldn't want to pay any more than the price I got for this stay though."
"We are lucky enough to live close to the venue - and enjoy calling in for a drink or two . Fantastic location for walking , this venue is dog friendly and the staff are always welcoming , when ever we have called in - food / drinks are great , and served by friendly professional staff . Venue is clean and following guidelines for current Covid situation - Well worth a visit . General manager is lovely , as is Dan behind the bar , a lovely chap and a great asset to this establishment . Please support this pub / hotel , we highly recommend a visit , you won’t be disappointed , 👍 Mike and lynda Dawson Staffordshire"

"This is a restaurant review. Firstly the dining area is a bit far for people of limited mobility ESP car park. But thats my only gripe The place itself is actually quite nice. Drove past it for years, as lived in Alsager and surrounding Areas. When you do get to the foody bit its a right trek, its a two level job. Point blank refused to go upstairs (Moi had Numpty Head on, more later). Nope ground floor and well nice room, old oak beams, looking out at the entrance of the golf course, seating a bit tight, but we are big boned. Seats are actually nice, solid if for my ample bum cheeks a bit tight. But thats my fault. Anyhoo, food choice, was to be frank a bit limited, I think not in the hotels control, Having said that no probs from me. I had the Vietnamese stir fry starter, with noodles. Now its kind of hot. Just enough. Rather nice. Wiffy had a pate on toast, which to be fair looked good. Well apparently it was not toast was not toastly enough, but your eating it. Server was mortified (And service is really good, cant Knock it) So much so said Free coke refill for Wiffy. Well I thought fair enough Main course, Wiffy had a chilli, and well mint Moi had a little chicken dish. Portions are a bit small, if you a hungry Hippo. However the quality is very good, I mean Really good. Cant fault it. Beers again limited, but the two I had, top notch. Service again top gun. Go back again as well it was mint"
"We would like to thank Jack ,Jess and all the staff for working tirelessly to enable our daughter to have her ceremony this morning. As of 5pm last night it was all off, however with a few frantic phone calls by Jack and ourselves we were able to rearrange to an earlier time and hold the ceremony. We will be returning to this beautiful hotel to have a party as soon as possible under the present situation that’s occurring. Jack you and your team have made Lauren’s dream come true today and we cannot express our gratitude sufficiently in a few words . You went above and beyond in your efforts to help us thank you . Food fantastic , rooms beautiful and even after staff having received devastating news about the endorsed hotel closure from the government.... they continues to be professional , caring and extremely helpful in these worrying times. You truly have an amazing team thank you to you all . We wish you the best of luck in the coming weeks - months . Debbie and Dave Clark "
"This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel - we found it the first time when our son was on a scout camp nearby - and decided to return as a family for a short break. The room this time was large and well-appointed. The cleanliness and attention to social distancing that the hotel staff have taken was very reassuring in this tricky time for the industry. The food in the Stable Grill and Bar is exemplary in its quality and the service is also excellent - very attentive and discreet staff. Whilst the gym was not available, the pool was open to guests only (although changing was restricted to bedrooms with robes and slippers provided due to COVID) so we enjoyed a quiet family swim before our evening meal. Thank you."

"Spent one night in Room 4 but wish it could have been longer. Modern sleek decor in a large Victorian room with dual aspect and although on a main road traffic noise was not intrusive. Reception was welcoming and professional and had some good recommendations for evening food at local pubs. Breakfast was very good and a service friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly choose Alexander Court Hotel again if we are visiting Stoke-on-Trent again."
"The stay for two days was first class. The owner, Andy, couldn’t do enough for us. Really kind and helpful. The receptionists/bar staff were Liza and Sam. Both lovely. The breakfast was really nice. Sausages to die for! The room was comfortable and the whole place was squeaky clean. Parking was not a problem as there is space at the front and rear. When in the area again this is our go to hotel. Thanks Andy and co."
"We stayed at this hotel for three nights. We booked the double standard room which although small was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The toilet and shower was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was served in a lovely room overlooking the garden. All the hotel staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again."

"Staying at Yarnfield hotel is very much alike staying in what I would imagine a prison or a hostel for recent parolees would be like. Except for the front access door to the 3 of 4 different hotel blocks aren’t secure and anyone could walk-in off the street. My first room (standard room) in C block was dismal. It looked dated, tired and when you look closer you will notice the lack of cleanliness all over the place. There were dead insects and other assorted dead insect guts left over scattered over the room especially on the window and net curtains. The room smelt damp and surprise! There was an actual A3 paper sized bit of mould/water staining on the ceiling above the wardrobe in my room plus black mould in the bathroom. Doors would repeatedly noisily slam shut throughout the night and day plus the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours. The carpet was not vacuumed at any point in my 5 day stay nor was it done after the previous occupant had vacated as I could see their ‘leftovers’ and there was an issue with replacing old used towels for new ones despite following the instructions on the sticker in the bathroom. The cleaning staff, as nice as they are, seem lazy and management are to blame for not keeping up standards. The TV remote was disgustingly sticky from being so well used and never cleaned. The TV hadn’t been tuned for a couple of years so didn’t work very well which fits well with the whole Yarnfield experience. The food is tasteless for the majority but the desserts (which they probably get delivered in) is great when the huge influx of flies doesn’t have their way with it. We had an issue one week with a infestation of flies in the dining area where food is left out in a buffet style set up during meal times and the fly zappers weren’t deployed fast enough so we were sitting there swatting flies away from our food at the dining table in a very very warm dining area. The pillows, duvet and bed felt sticky and are so uncomfortable that I didn’t get much sleep. Plus the thoughts of poor hygiene really didn’t help. You have a desk, wardrobe, two bedside tables, one lamp, a creaky bed, mirror and a hairdryer all from the mid-90s from the looks of it all. The gym is a tiny box room which gets very cramped when more than 3 people decide to use it at the same time and it took 3 weeks to get the safety clips for the Olympic bar. My second room which is called the “Superior room” really did impress from initial impressions. It looked like it had been refurbished not long ago and the wardrobe and hairdryer were actually useable. The room looked modern and I would’ve been happy to bring someone back there without being embarrassed but as usual with Yarnfield, it wasn’t without its problems. The room which was in what we called “D block” wasn’t vacuumed the whole time I was there nor was it done after the previous occupant had left. There were yellow scum marks in the sink that were there for my whole stay and the"
"I have just spent a weekend at Yarnfield with 200 delegates at a Maths Jam and the location was ideal for the event. Spacious, easy access and friendly and helpful staff. The bedroom accommodation is basic but comfortable, especially the bed. Food was wholesome and plentiful with a good variety. The conference facilities are spacious and the service for replenishing water, etc was efficient. Having coffee "on tap" was an added attraction."
"The rooms are very clean and functional with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. The meals are also good quality with plenty of choice and they have numerous conference rooms to suit many sizes of attendees up to about 60 I would say. The reception desk is also manned by polite and informative staff. I can recommend."

"The hotel looks a bit grim on the outside but inside is very nicely decorated. Room was clean if a bit bit small, but fine for one night. Bed was a standard double, bit soft but we still slept well and it was quiet. Shower was delightful, hot and powerful, lovely! Check in was a bit tricky due to a combination of screens, masks, music from the open plan bar area and kids running round the area screaming. We felt sorry for the poor receptionist having to repeat everything three times! We were also asked what time we wanted to book our breakfast slot:0830 or 09:30 and went for 09:30. Well that must have been a joke because on arriving a few minutes early the queue spiralled round the reception area. Though after about 15 minutes we were shown a table and told someone would take our tea or coffee request. We then had to queue up another 30 minutes, yes you read correctly 30 minutes, for hot food!! One tiny hot-food station served by one very busy lady. Due to covid, you're not allowed to touch the ladels yourself, which is fine. There was no juices out either, again, fine. However no one came to ask us if we wanted a drink and whilst in the insufferable queue for food, one lady asked three times for a drink. Two children pushed in and asked for a feast each and were promptly served, to the immense annoyance of everyone in the queue watching and waiting. The procedure they have in place does not work, clearly. Why ask what time slot we wanted? Now it was not the server's fault at the hot food station, she was friendly and I felt sorry for her, trying to get the queue down single handedly. But the procedures need to change: more hot food stations, more people serving, more staff making sure people have drinks or even table service. Many people were grumbling, as well as their tummies, and it ruined what up til then had been a nice stay. Almost an hour's wait for breakfast, after you have booked a slot is unacceptable, it's not difficult. Another complaint I have, possibly my biggest, the hot-food station did not have a glass cover to protect it from people breathing all over it. It had one over the top but all sides were open, so children were breathing all over it as they don't wear masks, people's fingers were in there pointing at things, just defeats the object of putting all other measures in place really. Check out was another irritating process, one receptionist who was busy with another patron, whilst another staff member came over, eyeballs us and walked into the back room with no acknowledgment. Just rude."
"We stayed in the hotel to enable us to visit Alton Towers. The park is only 30 drive mins away from the hotel and is also convenient for the M6 motorway. We always stay in a Holiday Inn for these types of trips as they are always clean, comfortable and convenient. We aren’t looking for anything luxurious, it’s not that type of trip and Holiday Inn has always proved adequate for what we want. This is the first time we have stayed in a hotel since the Covid outbreak and we were very pleased with how they have handled it. The staff work very hard at keeping things clean and making sure the rules are adhered by. There are hand gel stations everywhere you look, with hand gel on every table. If you want to order a drink or food, there is a handy tablet on the table to do so and the order is brought to your table. At breakfast, you need to book a slot between 6.30 and 9.30. Drinks are brought to your table and you let the member of staff know what you want from the hot buffet so they plate up for you. Everything is individually wrapped including fruit and bread. I found the breakfast experience much more relaxing than normal as you didn’t have that chaotic feeling of a normal breakfast room. We felt very safe and well done to the staff at the Holiday Inn."
"Stayed here for just one night a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! The room was tidy, clean and beds were very comfy. There was also great facilities too, so even managed to fit my morning workout in. Would 100% recommend!"
