"This was a stop over trip to break up the driving to South of France. We arrived at 4am and staff were alert and ready to check us in. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The staff definitely went the extra mile during our stay. The room was a suite facing the sea which was great. If the room had a dinning room table would have helped with room service orders. There was only a 2 seater table as well as a coffee table. The indoor / outdoor pool was epic. I definitely will return without the kids to really enjoy the spa facilities. We also went to riggi mountain which was great as well. It was -2 on the ground but like summer in the mountains. Loved every minute of it. Food at the grill restaurant was incredible. I have never eaten cauliflower like that before 🤯🤯🤯." "A beautiful hotel, a real gem. We spent a night in the beautiful "Le Temps" Junior Suite with a beautiful view. The room was cleaned. A lovely mini bar, as we don't drink alcohol, some fruits juice would have been nice but I enjoyed the coffee and tea, also the snacks were very nice and the lovely chocolate cake. The staff was friendly, took good care. We enjoyed the breakfast, that I liked we could choose with the card (à la carte). Also everything is well taken care regarding the Covid, our body temperature was checked. We went to drink and ate nice cakes at the bar, also a lovely place with view. We plan to go again and next time to try the pool/SPA. Thanks to the personal for making us feel comfortable." "The fact that this is our 7th stay suggests that this is a property we like. Exceptional quality and service at the very best end of 5* lux. The hotel hosts a 2* (Focus) and a 1* (Prisma) restaurant - both exceptional This time we also booked a private gondola situated adjacent to the lake for fondue which was both superb and made for a cozy, romantic setting Rooms, breakfast, bar and the exceptional spa - make for a truly relaxing and classy experience"
"My husband and I and our two adult daughters had a wonderful weekend at the Hotel Vitznaurhof. The location is stunning! The view from our lake-facing corner room could not possibly have been better. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the sunset over the lake. The service and ambiance at the hotel was top-notch. Breakfast was substantial and scrumptious. One minor downside was that the mountain facing room was smaller than expected, with a small double bed instead of the twin beds that we asked for, but in no way did this spoil our weekend. We drove to Weggis for a more casual but equally delicious dinner at one of the restaurants there. Would highly recommend the scenic drive from Vitznau to Brunnen and beyond. All in all, a fabulous weekend. Thank you to the Vitznaurhof team." "From the outside, it looks like a very old, historic building; inside it is totally renovated and the rooms are refurbished in a modern style. We stayed in the hotel for two nights as we had some business and personal activities going on in and around Lucerne. We booked a lake-view room and were happy; breakfast was wonderful, with some local products. We also used the spa area with an outdoor jacuzzi/small pool, which is heated) and indoor saunas (steam and finnish sauna). Given the cold weather outside, this was a great feature. One thing to know: We travelled with our car as there is no train; there may be a public bus service available (see SBB app), however, we did not check how often the buses run." "Stayed recently for a few nights. Nice modern room, not huge though. Big balcony overlooking the lake. Good shower. Good facilities. Steam and dry saunas are big enough, nice outside jacuzzi. Nice bar, great breakfast and nice staff. Free paddle boarding. Ate in the restaurant one night, absolutely top quality dishes. It's not cheap at first glance, but when you see and taste the food it shows that cheaper restaurants are expensive when looking at the quality/price. Good selection of wines."

"We made a restaurant reservation two weeks in advance to make sure we get a table on the beautiful terrace with the breathtaking view we saw online. As we arrived (at 13:30) we realized: 1) the reservation was totally obsolete since only 3 of aprox. 40 tables were occupied 2) nobody greeted/welcomed us in, we waited a few moments and had to go after the only one waiter who was there to ask if we may be seated or just pick a table ourselves. The rest was sadly no improvement to the first impression: nice menu and nice dish presentations but sometimes rather small portions. The service seemed to be a "first day for beginners" training session: nobody seemed to be responsible for our table and when someone did, we had to ask for everything several times and wait quite some time: - ask for the bread basket, - ask if we may order, - ask if we may have another bottle of water (they did not see we were out of water half way through) etc etc. We just did not feel being taken good care of. We all thought: What a breathtaking location but what a pity! With the right service and gastronomic concept, this may certainly be a big hit!" "The hotel is built on a hillside. The building has a history of nearly 90 years. The interior space of the hotel is very distinctive. The invincible view of Lake Lucerne is outside the window in the morning. The breakfast is very good, and the view from the restaurant window is also pleasant. The hotel is suitable for staying for a few days in a daze. Walk along the road below the hotel for about 2 kilometers, from the small road to Mount Rigi, you can enjoy another unique scenery and experience." "We spent one night in this hotel which is a little bit outside of Vitznau on a hill. There is a stunning view and a wonderful park. The greeting and check-in was very friendly. The hotel has a lovely charm and it is well maintained. We got a beautiful junior suite (105) with its own balcony. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom with a shower was very small and not yet renovated. There is a pool, jacuzzi and sauna to relax. The dinner at the hotel is very good. The brakfast in the morning offers eggs, different breads, meat, cheese and some fruits."

"I tried to get to 4 out of 5, but need to be honest. The hotel isnt responsible for the view and the view makes up for a lot of negatives in the hotel. Check in was friendly and quick and we had the key to our room on the 4th floor no more than 5 minutes after we arrived. Parking was a bit of a search because we arrived on a sunday during lunchtime and apparently this is a popular time to have lunch at that hotel. The room we got is on the 4th floor and is a standard room with lakeview. The room is very tiny! Washbasin is in the room and the shower and toilet are separate but really tiny space too! If you are with 2 and you have your luggage then the room is completely filled up and no space to store anything. There is a ventilator, but no airconditioning. But thats OK. we could open the window and the fresh breeze over the lake came into the room. But also the mosquitos! So maybe they can place some mosquito net in front of the window? There is a watercooker in the room, but with a very short powercord, so the only place where we could use it was on the washbasin, but that was not very stable. The bed was not comfy, hard and the pillows are non existent. The wifi was good and fast! Then breakfast. It was a "buffet", but it was very limited. Some bread you need to cut yourself, thats OK, but with Covid? And the rest was just some cheeses and meats, some sweet things and thats it. Coffee was from a machine and juice from a tap. It was ok, but not really memorable. We didnt have dinner here because we read some reviews and watched what other guests ordered and compared prices and we decided not to do it. Check out was not really check out, it was just paying the bill and thats it. The desk agent didnt ask how our stay was or wasn't interested at all. So all in all too much things I dont like about a hotel at this price level. The views and location is priceless thats true. But it was like that the hotel is managed without passion. Thats a bit sad." "Very good place. Had lake on one side and green mountains on the other side. The scenic beauty is enchanting.
The place is little far from (2 transfers) Lucerne. People who like calm and greenish views will like this location.
The restaurant food is also nice. Rooms are neat n tidy. Comfortable as well. You can also transport via cruise from the backside of the hotel. On the way to the hotel from Stans there are nice views and a huge park is available. " "We stayed one night here en route. The room was a good size, bed comfortable and all spotless. Wonderful views across the lake, our room did not have a balcony but that would be worthwhile if you were staying more than one night. There was some significant noise from adjacent rooms that could be a problem. The restaurant was fine but the food was very average - nothing wrong but just not very notable. The breakfast likewise was average, certainly by Swiss standards. But all in all extremely good value for a simple overnight stay."
