"We have just returned, at long last due to Coronavirus to our retreat and bolt hole which we call our second home, Villa La Massa. It was fantastic to return and see how recent times have changed everyone’s lives and how adaptable people are. During the winter extensive alterations were completed which saw the additional of some new suites, a dedicated restaurant for lunch and a new pool but sadly the opening was delayed until late July when guests were once again allowed to return to hotels in Italy. We found superb additions to an already delightful hotel. The original intimacy of La Massa remains but there is now even more to enjoy. The staff, limited in numbers like the number of guests staying were fantastic and continued to maintain the high standards of service we have experienced over many years and repeated visits. The views of the countryside and banks of the Arno remain undiminished as does the quality of the hotel, excellent food and ambiance. Sadly, their are restrictions in place regarding faces masks at times that have become part of our everyday lives but it didn’t diminish the experience at all. The spa is currently closed due to the virus but the gym is open and with the new pool and it’s surroundings I didn’t even think about the spa once. As always the food is exceptional and the chef is always around to chat and will tweak meals with pleasures to meet your needs. It would be unfair to single out anyone as everyone is working hard but Stefano Venturi the General Manager and Tamara should be congratulated for shaping and guiding his team in these difficult times. With fingers crossed I hope to return in a month and enjoy the vista again. Florence is starting to get busier as well as tourists slowly return. Attractions are open and in some cases it is advisable to pre book. "
"We visited for 10 days in August with our two daughters ages 10 and 13 and had an amazing stay. This hotel has all the benefits and space of a quiet country hotel but is only 15 mins drive from Florence. It is perfectly located for exploring the city, vineyards, hill towns and the coast. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, quiet and spacious. We took full advantage of the facilities including the lovely breakfast with a view of the river, free shuttle to Florence, fitness centre, the new pool and complimentary access to tennis courts at the country club down the road. The hotel staff were outstanding and made a huge effort to make our stay special. One of the highlights of our trip was celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary at Villa La Massa - the staff arranged a vineyard tour and wonderful four-course lunch for us and had a bottle of prosecco waiting in our room when we returned. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for a family trip to Tuscany - whether you want to relax by the pool, be more active or explore the area it really has something to offer everyone."
"On a recommendation from a friend, we booked this gorgeous hotel. Tamara Trambusti welcomed us like a friend and looked after us with such care and warmth during our stay for the week. She was the inspiration and creator of our dinner plans as we managed to eat in some amazing restaurants across Florence. We had the most amazing room with a view and everyone we encountered at the hotel was lovely, kind and helpful. Restaurent manager Antonio was funny and warm and looked after us like royalty. Pietro, Lorenzo, Massimo, Alessandra and the Gentleman at poolside restaurant were all amazing and thorough professionals. Our daily shuttle service in to Florence worked out a treat. We will certainly come back again and again and also definitely visit as soon as they reopen for Summer. "

"We stayed here for 5 nights and used it as a base to visit nearby cities and villages. Location: 4/5 - The views are absolutely beautiful and cannot be beaten, but the small road up to the hotel is crazy steep and has blind bends with only room for one car - it feels like an accident waiting to happen! Local train station is 10 mins drive away and on a 30min line to Florence - Parking was a nightmare though as locals obviously use it to commute. Spa: 5/5- Absolute pure luxury! Exactly how it looks on the pictures. Couldn’t ask for more. If you want a luxury spa you won’t be disappointed. Room: 2.5/5 -Pretty, rustic and clean but in need of a polish. Discolouration of bathroom tiles...etc. We also suffered a plague of insects. The first few days we saw a few beetles and squished them -no issue but we had to keep windows closed. On the last night we couldn’t sleep there were so many and must have killed about 30. We were moved rooms (at midnight) to escape them but given we had to wake up to fly at 6am this was inconvenient. We were told other rooms in the same area of the hotel were suffering the same issues. I understand that it’s the time of year...etc but a luxury 4* hotel should not have guests being evacuated from rooms due to bugs. No excuses. Staff 5/5- The staff were lovely, our receptionist was very helpful and the restaurant staff very polite. There was a language barrier (mainly in restaurant) as some staff speak better English than others and it did cause confusion one evening which was frustrating. However, their English was still far better than our Italian so can’t complain! The chap who dealt with us on our last night (when we had to change rooms due to bugs) was very professional and quick to help us which made the situation a bit better."
"We wanted to visit this restaurant because we have had food made off the chef Federico Cardi. He was not at work this evening, but the food had the samen level as he normaly do. High level, and service with a great sence of humor. And the prices is in same level as in other restaurant in the area. We wiil come bach"
"Great Stay at villa la borghetta! This Resort in tuscany is perfect to enjoy the chinti area. Rooms with view and wonderful location.... The restaurant is a plus! Great Tuscan food and pool with view!!"

"The hotel is located on the mountainside. If you are driving, pay attention to setting the city Firenze City in the navigation, because the place near the top of the mountain is another city. Both cities have the same street address and house number. We went to the top of the mountain, and then All the way down the mountain (one-way street, the uphill direction is forward), it is still very thrilling. The hotel is awesome. The decoration and furnishings have a strong medieval taste, exquisite and quaint, and very quiet. We booked a twin room and found that it was actually duplex. Of course the room is small, but the bed sleeps comfortably. There is a river next to the hotel. We get up and run along the river in the morning. Many people run in the morning. The hotel's breakfast is also very rich, with indoor dining and outdoor courtyard dining. We only spent one night in Florence before going to Castello city. The next time we come to Italy, we plan to stay in Florence for two or three days."
"If I give the hotel a score, I will give 9.6 points. The only place to deduct points is that if the window is opened at night, there will be bugs coming in, because the riverside, the hotel is so beautiful, it is really suitable for vacation, and there is free parking for self-driving. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to the city, the waiter is very warm and professional, on call, breakfast is good, and the pool! Great hotel"
"Great, very pleasant, very warm! The scenery is first class, the atmosphere is quiet, the service is very very good, the hotel has a car to the city for free, and it will be time to pick up. The restaurant has to be booked, the price is very good, it is very cheap, the taste is great, the restaurant is very beautiful."

"We can’t express how much we loved our stay here. It was way too short and we immediately said we need to come back here. It was our best stay from our Italy honeymoon trip. The view is fantastic, the room was so beautiful and it had a very relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was so good, the best we had in our trip through Italy. My husband loved the heated pool :) We got to visit the new wineshop and it was amazing. All necessary precautions were taken for Covid and we felt safe every minute. The true gem of this wonderful place is the fantastic people who work here. Thank you so much for our lovely stay and for making us feel so welcome. We look forward to our next visit here! Kindest wishes, Hanne & Christof"
"Where to start! We loved every aspect of our stay at Borgo del Cabreo. Firstly the location, so peaceful with beautiful views in every direction. Our room ‘The Villa’ spacious, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable with beautiful decor & an amazing hammock on the lawn in front. A delicious breakfast each morning served by smiling, charming staff. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone did their absolute best during the difficult Covid situation. Food was arranged & ordered in for us once all restaurants closed for dinner. We felt safe & tucked away from it all & loved it so much we extended our stay. We hope to return someday soon. Grazie mille"
"We came on a romantic weekend away to enjoy the wine and food in the region and we were not disappointed. The staff are amazing and incredibly helpful. We came without any firm plans due to Covid and they arranged several meals in local restaurants all of which were delicious. Michele even drove us to some of the hilltop venues we booked. The rooms are spotless with picturesque terraces and views. The only warning is it’s hilltop location is steep for any travellers with out a car. I would definitely recommend this hotel If you’re looking for a quiet and romantic break, stop searching and book this hotel!"

"Waking up everyday with the view of a lifetime! My new bride in my arms and the view of the Tuscan country side within sight 12 nights wasn’t long enough when your here with the Villa Paligina family. Within the first day we knew we made the right choice to make our memories here. We were surprisingly upgraded from a beautiful room to the grand sweet with a beautiful Juliet balcony. No one new it was our honeymoon until later in the week but was greeted with such wonderful happiness; like as if the staff knew. In all my travels I have never experienced such wonderful honest true to heart people. From the garden to the head chef we were treated like family. My new wife and I will be making this our new tradition and returning here often. The grounds are spectacular, with a masterpiece around each corner, it’s like walking into a famous painting at every turn. We have made many friends here and have been added to our social media. We even received the recipes from our new friend and amazing Chef who teaches the cooking class at Villa Paladina. We highly recommend taking their Italian cooking class. Even though we rented a car for expoing the countryside, everything offered at Villa Paladins is truly an all inclusive experience. We really enjoyed dressing up for dinner. Felt like we were in a movie and was treated as such. We miss the wonderful head waiter who would make us laugh and really make us feel special. The in depth knowledge of the master wine captain was phenomenal. He was spot on when paring wines with each meal. Thank you"
"We have had our first of many trips to come last week. It was the most relaxing, beautiful trip we have had. It is a 45 minute drive into Florence, and similar to Siena and other places, but the location cannot be beat. I had wonderful breakfasts every morning, and then could explore and begin the day. Renato the desk clerk as well as a lovely blonde lady who I didn't catch her name, were incredibly warm and helpful-Actually every employee we encountered was the same. We will be returning as often as possible whenever we need a break!"
"Driving through the vineyards to get to the hotel didn't prepare us for this grand mansion sitting onto of the hill. The views were amazing from the hotel and the pool overlooked the vineyards and valley, allowing you to just relax and enjoy the peace and scenery. Rooms were nice but I think the top rooms which we got were not as grand as the ones on the first floor. But the location and scenery made up for it!"

"Beautiful setting, but uncomfortable beds, awkward bathroom...furniture in need of refurbishing and road to the villa was a hard drive. Very small kitchen, but the cook we hired did an amazing job. Everything was very fresh and well presented. We would have liked more walking paths..we did watch for wild boar but did not see any."

"One of the best holidays we’ve been on I think. Beautiful hotel in the Tuscan hills with fantastic views and very well located for visiting Florence as well as some of the smaller towns around. Room was very high standard and cleaned well, very good breakfast and great service from everyone here. Pool area looked great but was a bit chilly for the time of our stay. Didn’t get to sample the restaurant but was always very busy and I’m told very nice. Some great restaurants nearby within 15-20 minute drive. Highly recommended and hope to return one day. "
"My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 3 wonderful nights. The staff were so friendly and so welcoming, there were no expectations. The food was great (make sure you have the taster menu with wine pairing, it is amazing value for money), the wine was perfect and the location is stunning. After our stay here, we went on to another hotel that was much more expensive, but didn't live up to Resort 37. We really enjoyed our time here."
"The rooms are nice, clean and big. The bed is very comfortable. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. And we had our breakfast with a breath taking view. There is a swimming pool, and free parking. The only down thing is that the are no room service, you order and pick up your food. It was truly unfortunate we can only stay one night. It is now one of our favorite places in florence. We are definitely coming back again "
