"We are regular worldwide travellers who stay in all type of accommodations from airbnb to 5 star hotels. Our background is also in concierge and customer service. This place has it absolutely spot on in every aspect. The staff are amazing, super efficient and extremely discreet and pleasant. I eat gluten free, I have never had such an amazing response to my restrictions, including two specially made cakes for breakfast. The hotel is spotless and has lovely touches likely courtesy Crocs to go to the spa which is lovely. The restaurant is phenomenal both in food and service. The most amazing food at very reasonable prices, worthy of Michelin guide. Again, amazing gluten free swaps. Brilliant staff, so kind and discreet and the biggest wine list we have every seen. Lastly, I am French so know my cheeses and I can say without hesitation that they serve the best cheese I have ever eaten. We will be back!"
"It is now 18 years ago that we past in the Nationale Bar as an coïncidence! We fell in love with thé gentleness from the Macario family and their dedication to quality, regional and the now world wide slow food association! We have been back a few times already and every time we spot that il Nationale has become even better...The restaurant with brother & very knowledgeable Christian is simply unbelievable and one of the best gourmet experiences we know off anywhere... Andrea and the girls are super in the Stunning Relais with a beautiful spa! We have been working all our professional lives in the hospitality travelled the intire world and we can say that this place is outstanding... see you next time in le Relais"
"We stayed in this delightful hotel at the foot of the Alps and had dinner across the street in the restaurant which was first class. Gourmet from the start to the end with lots of extra unexpected goodies. The breakfast was also first rate -- local cheese, yogurts, homemade jams, cakes and fresh squeezed juice. I could have stayed for a week. Andrea, the owner, was super helpful, and charming. As an aside, Vernante, the town was where Pinocchio was conceived. "

"Vicoforte is a lovely town with a breathtakingly beautiful church complete with Trompe l'oeil frescoes on the dome. Wow! There are several small restaurants in the Piazza just a few minutes walk down the hill from the Villa. However, this place is 30+ KM from Barolo, and the package I bought said "near Barolo" which it isn't really. N.B. - This might have been the travel consolidator's sales hook, and not the B&B's. Okay, so we booked the smallest room in the B&B, and I did not get a chance to see the bigger suites, so please note that many of my comments may not universally apply. If the room is smaller, why not furnish it with a Queen instead of King bed? To me that just makes sense. Perhaps it's so all the linens fit all the beds in all the rooms. Who knows, but it really felt cramped in the room. Fortunately, there is a "living room" downstairs for all to use and it was pleasant to sit in there, and afforded us a chance to meet other travellers, which was nice. There's also a lovely shared terrace on the 1st floor when the weather is fine, and an enclosed patio area with seating on the ground floor as well, where they have blankets to keep you warm if it's a bit chill. Both these outdoor areas have a view of the Italian Alps on a clear day. Our small suite had a shower rather than a bathtub, which was one of the main reasons we selected it, as neither of us like to climb in and out of a long bath to take a shower. The problem was, it was significantly choked, and would have overflowed if you took a 4 minute shower without turning the water off in between. We did ask for this to be looked at, but it didn't change in the 5 nights we stayed. A plus: the living room has free flow of tea, and also select spirits. We ended up having a Grappa tasting with some other couples and found one of them very smooth and pleasant. A minus: We asked the staff if we could buy a bottle off them, since we didn't know where to source it, and one could see reserve stock in a locked cabinet in same living room, but they just couldn't see to this. The breakfast was typical of what we saw in the region. It appeared you only got one portion of breakfast beverage, or at least, we were never asked if we wished another coffee or shot of espresso. My husband thought the towels were thin and miserable. While I agreed they were thinner than the average hotel towel, I think they were practical since it appears they were line dried and not put through the dryer, judging by their texture. All in, as the title says, it could have been better, especially the shower drainage issue - the housekeeper certainly would notice, so it's confounding that it was not addressed before we checked in."
"There is a perfect balance of antique decor, noted historical royal personalities associated with the property and functional modern facilities. Background classical music and chandelier light in the common areas and carefully selected antiques adorn every angle of the hotel giving it a chateaux class of its own. At the same time modern facilities ensure the practical needs are met including fast Wifi and great water pressure. The discreet staff are helpful and willing. The views to the verdant countryside with the rural silence make this so restful. The Santuario di Vicoforte at your literal doorstep is a stunning must see surprise. Nearby Mondovi and going up on its cable car is a historical city worthy of adding to an itinerary to understand the real Italy beyond mass tourism routes. We took country roads through maize fields, hazelnut trees, vineyards to the Grotta of Bossea to experience this cave wonder - a delight. The surrounding gourmet paradise that includes Borolo, Alba plus other epicurean highlights make this hotel a great base to visit the area for so many reasons."
"We spent three nights here and were very impressed, the place seems to have been recently restored but the style is nineteenth century grand house. It is a remarkable achievement. The consequence is that one feels spoiled in an old fashioned way but everything works to modern standards. The location is convenient with bars, restaurants, and the church - well worth a visit - all within walking distance. The best part of the whole experience was the service, friendly and attentive with lots of suggestion about where to go, what to do, where to eat etc but always happy to facilitate your ideas when you wanted to do your own thing. One hesitates to offer advice to people who have got it very right but whatever it takes to keep Valentina do it. She is an exceptional hostess."

"An old hotel with welcoming decor. Rooms are cosy and spacious. It's a bit of a rabbit warren but lifts to all floors. No parking available under hotel but you can park in the blue spaces at €1 an hour at the pay machines around the hotel area. No payment required from 7.30 pm to 9 am. Staff are helpful and can suggest local places and a map. Turn left or right out the hotel and under the Portico you will find a variety of shops, cafes and down the side streets restaurants."
"We were passing through Northern Italy and stopped in Cuneo just for the night...but our gracious hosts and the charming atmosphere made us stay for 2 days. It is an old-fashioned, comfortable hotel with modern amenities; owners and staff go above and beyond to make you feel special and welcome. Great location too, in the heart of the town, in walking distance from restaurants and shopping."
"We had an excellent stay in this stylish hotel downtown charming Cuneo, well run by kind owner Mauricio, his family and staff. We truly felt welcome. Safe car parking, suitable for supercars with low ground clearance. We will be back, next time we will bring our dog 😉. Molte Grazie! "

"This hotel is centrally located near the old city and the train station. It has pleasant rooms and a nice staff. Overall the accommodations were neat, clean, quiet and comfortable. The most amazing surprise occurred the next morning when we found our way to the hidden and cozy breakfast area. The hotel obviously prided themselves on the feast - and we were both impressed and extremely pleased with all we found. This was the best breakfast we had in our 2 month trip, hands down. The competition was fierce as it included a few boutique spas as well as several very high end Spanish, Austrian and French accommodations. Kudos to a stop where we had modest expectations that were totally exceeded."
"This hotel is "superb" and of 4 star quality! The situation in the centre of Cuneo is perfect, with private parking next to the main square, which is in the private hotel courtyard. The rooms are of 4 star standards and the incuded breakfast is in a new dining room and is excellent. The staff and owner are very helpfull and very professional.Thankyou Sabina for all your assistance. You will not do better than this hotel in Cuneo!"
"within walking distance of the old town, great for walks, with many restaurants and shops around, this hotel is a great place; The rooms are spacious and newly renovated; The breakfast buffet is a must and a discovery worth! Very kind owner and employees. From now on , when we travel to Cuneo , we'll go only to this hotel. And it is not expensive!"

"Having being lucky enough to find this hotel last year, we were fortunate enough to be in a location to allow us to stay again this year. As was the case last year the welcome and stay was second to none. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was spotlessly clean with mini bar and kettle, breakfast choices were good. Secure free garage parking for motorcycles. As the owner of the hotel is a fellow biker he took great interest with ourselves as to what routes we had travelled and suggested that we try col de la bonette even printing us a map out of which roads to take. We took his advice and weren't disappointed (you can't beat local knowledge) Wonderful hotel and if we are in the area again will definitely be staying there. "
"We arrived in Albergo della ceramica on recommendation and it fulfilled our expectations. Owner of the hotel let us park and leave the van in his garage for five days until we come back from the trip although we stayed there only first and the last night in large and comfortable rooms and that have all that is necessary. After delicious and big buffet for breakfast we couldn`t start one of the motorcycles and the owner again stepped in and found a local shop that has certain battery. Such kindness and care you can find only within bikers or this great hotel family that made our trip perfect."

"I have stayed in this hotel two years in row for work reasons! And found it very comfortable and the staff accomodating! Restaurant is very good and the breakfast has lots to offer. Only negative is the restaurant being closed at lunch and bar not offering anything to eat or have snacks because near the hotel there is NOTHING for food/drink. The hotel is also not far from the center. Great place to stay in Mondovi!"
"I stayed there 2 nights and booked a superior room, the view was really nice (on downtown of Mondovi). However, it is pricey for the service they offer. The reception is friendly and nothing to say about it. The hotel needs an important renovation, the rug is dirty in the corridor or with wrinkles on the pathway, bathroom doors do not slide well, shower gel in a tiny plastic bag, not even enough for a shower! Only 1 old bedcover for your bed, the bed is hard and pillows really uncomfortable, the desk is full with tv and boiling water machine, so no place to work! No replacement of the tea or coffee if you used them, towels on the bathroom dirty, my room was close to the lift and you could hear it! So if you have to stay there, go on the 4th floor and far away from the lift, but otherwise avoid this hotel absolutely!"

"Comfortable hotel owned by a charming Italian family who made us feel very welcome. This hotel is perhaps used more by business people visiting Mondovi but it was a perfect base for us to explore the area by car as it is halfway between Turin and the coast. Cuneo and Mondovi are great to visit 20 minutes away and La Grotta dei Dossi nearby is stunning. The hotel restaurant is popular and serves good, fresh local food. Breakfast includes homemade cakes, biscuits and pastries. Nice spacious bedroom and bathroom, air conditioning worked well in 29 degree heat and there is a large private parking area. The swimming pool was great after a day sightseeing."
"very friendly staff , excellent breakfast so many choice of home made biscuits and cakes but also some typical cheese the room was very clean and the room quit big; restaurant always open with good food simple and taste "
