Ringstrasse 1, Dresden, Saxony, Germany
"Spent one night in Dresden to visit the Christmas Markets, I wish we had more time. I opted for this hotel since it’s part of the Marriott chain and I need a late checkout, which is a perk of being platinum or higher. I had a 5 pm train to Prague, so the 4 pm late checkout was perfect. The room was large and spacious with a desk and couch for relaxing in the room. The room also had safe, Nespresso maker and welcome treats. The bathroom was divided between two rooms, one with a toilet and sink and the other with a jetted tub and sink. This setup made it convenient for two individuals getting ready at the same time. However, the tub was rather deep, which made it a bit difficult to get in and out, especially for a short or elderly person. The breakfast buffet was included in the room rate and offered a wide variety of choices, including meats, fruit, pastries, eggs and waffles. The hotel is next to the tram stop and walking distance to the center of town with multiple Christmas markets. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay."
"This is a lovely hotel merely minutes from the Striezelmarkt in Dresden, and only a ten-minute walk down the pedestrian mall from the train station. We use trains when we visit Germany, and Dresden was a new city for us. The front office staff are lovely and friendly; rooms are scrumptious, with cute little coffee machines; and breakfast is just amazing. There is also a pool downstairs! Walk through the museum area to bridges across to the other side of the city; or head to the GroßerGarten for a lovely garden walk. On some days, there is a farmer‘s market just before the entrance of the garden. The Christmas Markets here are wonderful and ample. We enjoyed all of them very much. "
"We stayed two nights here last summer in a room facing St Peterburger Strasse. The hotel is a lovely old building with easy access to the train station and trams and walking distance to the old town. Our room was well appointed, comfortable, clean and quiet. We ate breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious with lots of selection. The reception staff were helpful with useful information all the while efficient. While not cheap, a couple of nights here was a wonderful treat. We cant fault our stay at the Gewandhaus Dresden Marriott."
