"The room is small and tidy. Going right is the town of Chester. The breakfast is not bad. The Western breakfast, the sausage and hash browns are delicious, the service is quite warm, and there is a family room with a big bed and a small bed."
"Old-fashioned hotels, health is still very secure. There is a parking lot downstairs, but there is a charge. The location is very convenient, two minutes from the ancient city."
"Good breakfast room is also big"

"Our stay coincided with the shut down of restaurants, hotels, gyms, etc so it was unfortunately cut short however for the time we were there, we were looked after. With all the chaos that was going on in the news, television etc regarding coronavirus, every single member of staff concentrated on making sure that each and every guest there including ourselves were looked after and cared for. They were kind, courteous, professional and informative. We will be back to continue our stay its a wonderful place to be."
"this hotel in my opinion is faultless a great experience to stay here, spotlessly clean great staff brilliant food, the exec chef is awesome, highly recommend. The new Spa is probably the best in the North West, some thought has gone into this amazing facility, you will be spoilt truly here"
"Very last minute holiday due to Covid 19.. Spa is amazing. Room was huge. Gorgeous grounds. Attentive staff. Great cocktails in bar. Overall cannot fault it at all. Had a lovely massage, didnt want it to end."

"I have just returned from a 2 night Ultimate Spa Break with my partner and I want to express how disappointed I am with the overall stay. As part of our deal was Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Prosecco in room, spa day and 2 treatments and afternoon tea. On arrival in the room, the Prosecco was not cold but was warm, despite it being in a bucket. There was no iron in the room either, only a ironing board so I had to call reception to request one. On the Friday night at Dinner, the service was appalling, the restaurant didn’t look busy at all and only appeared to be 2 floor staff. It took 10 mins for our drinks to be brought to us. Upon ordering the waitress didn’t know what draught beers they were so she had to go away and return. All restaurant staff should know what alcohol they is available. We ordered 2 burgers as we had been craving them all day on our very long 3 hour journey to the hotel. My partner ordered the burger without onion but when it arrived it came with no salad and sauce at all! When we called the Manager over and told her this so didn’t take our plates away but instead brought out the salad and the sauce on a plate! But this was after 15 mins of waiting for Tomato and Lettuce! By this point both meals were cold. She should have taken both dishes back to the kitchen. We ate some of the food as we were both starving after a very long day but not all of it. There was no check back on our food or looked like any other table. We ordered a second drink but again it took 10 mins for the drink to come to us. The service and food was not to standard for a rosette restaurant. At breakfast - this wasn’t very organised. We went down for breakfast at 9.30am but nearly all tables were stacked with plates and then the free clear tables had napkins or cutlery missing and were not set. When approaching the buffet there was not many hot plates present, there were only 3. The food on the hot buffet was pretty much empty as to the point where we were scraping the bottom. The cold buffet was well stocked and was plentiful. There wasn’t many staff around to tell them about the plates or hot food either. On Saturday we visited the spa for our spa day and treatments, I can’t fault the spa at all as it was lovely and all staff in there were friendly. The afternoon tea in the spa however was again disappointing. This was served in the bar area which in my opinion should be served in an area in the spa itself as to then create a relaxing atmosphere but this was far from it. I told the bar staff we had arrived for afternoon tea and ordered 2 drinks to go with it and she said she would bring them over with our tea. They were other spa people in there too having afternoon tea with set tables ready, white clothe, side plate etc but ours was not. 10 mins went by and we still didn’t have our drinks we ordered or our table set. 20 mins then went by and the afternoon tea arrived but the table was not set so the bar staff had to come over and lay t"
"We had a wonderful time here, for a one nights Spa break, food, facilities, comfort of our room, Spa facilities fabulous,Massage excellent , i highly recommend this Hotel , staff so friendly and welcoming, amazing value . Its a beautiful , peaceful setting surrounded by landscaped lawns, Golf course surrounds the Hotel as it is a Golfing Mecca in Cheshire. Cant fault our stay, we will be back but for a longer stay ,Hotel taking a very responsible attitude to the Corona situation, but Guests have been taking / stealing the Toilet rolls !!! Just to add we did not , x"
"Overall a good experience, Clean warm comfortable room and an enjoyable massage. There were problems and the response of the staff at this hotel are the reason for it being very good. Without their concern and efforts to make things right, the rating would be lower. There appeared to be staff shortages, which put undue pressure on the remaining staff who coped very well. Thank you"

"The hotel is in the park, away from the commercial center, the green plants are quiet and quiet, there are local people to do weddings, tall and partying and taking pictures, the hotel has a barbecue bar, it is not convenient to go out for dinner. The room is really small, the price and convenience is really not as good as staying at the hotel."
"The price is a bit expensive, the room is not big, and swimming costs. A bit uncomfortable. And very suburban."

"We booked a three night stay in the pub, on arrival everything regarding covid protocol was clearly and pleasantly explained. Our room was on the 2nd floor up the 15th century staircase, our suitcase was taken up for us. The room was spotlessly clean with a good size bathroom which had a huge shower. We were both very happy with the accommodation. We ate in the bar area on our first two nights and the pie was great, as was the Cumberland sausage and mash. I tried the beer that is brewed on site and it was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay at The Pied Bull and when we return to Chester we will have no hesitation in booking again. Every member of staff we came across was courteous, friendly and professional. Thanks to all .If you do decide to stay the Delamere car park is three minutes away and is £9 for 24 hours."
"We came as we had been given a voucher for the brewery tour. The tour was brilliant and despite not being able to do the tour in the usual way (covid safety measures) Matt was brilliant. The room was lovely and clean, the bed comfy, no complaints. The breakfast was tasty and a decent portion size. Staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly."
"We stayed in the very large room with a four poster bed and a bath in it! Staff were attentive and friendly and the bed was comfortable. Location is in the heart of Chester so an easy stroll around town. The Pub is nice and pubby, and our bedroom managed to be nice and quiet even though the pub was just downstairs. Parking is in the car park around the corner (about 200 metres) and was about £6 from 7pm to about 10am the following day."

"Me and my other half have stayed in many of the Indigo chain hotels and we have never been disappointed. Very happy to say that Chester too meets their high standard. I booked via hotels.com website and communication with the hotel has been great, they contacted me more than once asking about my choice of room style and any other personal preferences, coincidentally it was a birthday and anniversary. Arrived at 1pm but our room wasn't ready yet, but I checked in and left our luggage and ventured to explore the city. Under 10 minutes walk to the shops. We parked in nearby NCP Forest Street which if you use their app was only £4.50 for 24hrs (only 2 minutes walk from back of hotel). Back at the hotel we were given our room card for 210, it was a racecourse style room with bathtub, both of which I had kindly asked the hotel and they had accommodated my requests. Plus we were given complimentary drinks voucher for our celebrations which enabled us to choose two cocktails from the bar. Breakfast was hot full English and we could request more continental options from the menu, this was a little different to me as we have always enjoyed the vast spread of choice for breakfast from Hotel Indigo, but it is understandable in these covid times. At no point did we feel unsafe, especially during these strange times. Thank you Hotel Indigo Chester for some lovely memories."
"My husband booked a night at this hotel almost last minute due to our trip to Paris being cancelled. Both the rooms and lobby/bar were spotless and beautifully decorated, so much so that I asked the receptionist where they got a lot of the decor from for our room. We were initially given a room on the 1st floor with the material layers theme. Only issue was that it only had a shower, but a quick phone call to reception and the lady came to our room 5 minutes later with a option of a clock themed room on the 3rd floor with a bath. Great customer service! We are at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and enjoyed all of the courses that we chose. We also tried some of their rock themed cocktails (nirvana and mcr espresso martini) which did not disappoint! Only issue was that I had seen the banksy themed cocktail online but they unfortunately could not provide this one during our stay. The Atmosphere and quiet rock music in the background was a nice surprise and to our taste. There is no hotel parking but we found a ncp carpark just a 5 minute walk away for £11 for 24 hours. We stayed in a suite at the abode hotel June last year but I can defiantly say that hotel indigo is now my go to and favourite hotel! Overall we really enjoyed our visit and can not wait to return! "
"Sadly we were in Chester for a funeral but the Hotel Indigo really cheered us up! We had a super slick check in with a really Pleasant lady. What struck me was the beautiful scent in the reception area. How do they do it?! We took the lift To the first floor and our room Was so quirky - right up my street! I would love to know who does the interior Design for this hotel as it’s so Unique. We had black and gold teacups and saucers, a church window style Full Length mirror, retro Black telephone, bin with a cat on and a regal portrait of a swan in a ruff Above the bed. A nice touch was a carton of Fresh milk and complimentary mineral Water in the fridge. No UHT pots like Most hotels. The shower in the bathroom (Regular plus rainfall shower) was a delight - Molten Brown toiletries a bonus. Such a Shame we didnt get time To eat here as the menu looked Delicious. We will be back - what a fab experience! "

"I would have to say that I'm extremely disappointed. We had our honeymoon booked at OddFellows for the 21st-23rd, we were looking forward to staying there as we wanted to book our full wedding (post-Covid) at the venue. On the 24th November they rang me up to tell me that they can no longer take our booking, I understand the Covid situation but the way it was handled on the phone was extremely disappointing, without a care in the world. Not only have they cancelled on our plans less than a month out but now we have to find another place to stay, but with the prices going up everywhere and the lack of options they have really put a dent in our plans. Something that we were really excited about has now become a task. - Poor customer service on the phone - No apology (or even an option to postpone is at a discount in the future) - Has made our minds up about having the wedding there now, which will never happen if the service was that bad on the phone (imagine it in person, like I have read about in other reviews) I do understand the Covid situation and these things can happen, but I would suggest not sending an email saying that "sorry you had to cancel". No, I didn't cancel! Also the lack of respect, understanding and not even a discount option to make you come back in the future if you wish to stay with us due to the situation we put you in. I had everything booked there for our honeymoon; tours, flowers, nights out, Xmas surprises. Now I need to restart all this again, at a cost and headache to us. I'd suggest looking at other places to stay in Chester, cause in the end its the staff that make it a great stay and I can't say that about OddFellows."
"We’ve been waiting to visit after our trip had to be postponed from earlier in the year so we were really looking forward to our stay. We booked 1 night in a Caldecott Classic. We arrived early so stored our luggage until check-in at 3pm. The receptionist was friendly and explained that toiletries and tea/coffee facilities had been removed due to Covid and asked if we would like them to take to our room. We replied yes and were handed a flimsy plastic bag with toiletries & tea/coffee mixed in together, the hotel have really missed a trick here as it could have been presented so much better in a recyclable bag or box. On arrival to the room we were disappointed to find that the room had been stripped of all furnishings (cushions/bed throw etc), I understand that it is necessary but some mention of it would have been useful in the ‘welcome’ email sent a few days earlier. There were no wine or water glasses, coat hangers etc. We could have brought these if we had known. Also no hotel information etc. Breakfast had to be booked for a set time with no room service. Finally we were very unprepared for the open shower/toilet in the room, this isn’t made clear in the description. All in all it was quite a disappointing stay in what should have been a special occasion for us and definitely not worth £175. "
"Really fabulous night away for my husband's birthday. Told them it was for a birthday and was blown away by the special finishing touches in the room. Bathroom spectacular with the roll top bath for a really relaxing time away. We had excellent nibbles and wine in The Secret Garden too. Couldn't recommend enough to stay there."
