"We just got married 10 days ago at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe (New Year's Eve!) and I have to say that quite frankly it was the best day of our lives thanks in large part to the people at the beautiful Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. I have to start by calling out by calling out the incredible woman we worked with the whole time - Rebecca. Not only did she make the planning process a breeze (and a ton of fun), she was a saint on our wedding day - bringing me bread when I was too nervous to eat lunch, driving my wife around in a golf cart, finding scissors to help fix my frayed bow tie. Literally anything I needed she was right there. To anyone looking for a place to get married, having an angel to work with is pretty invaluable. The rest of the staff was unbelievable as well. The head barman / jack of all trades - Dutch, always made sure we had our favorite cocktails available and made sure that we were taken care of, no matter what we needed. Claude took such good care of us during the wedding, anything we needed was just a glance away. The front desk had nothing but smiles for us and all of our guests and were constantly helping us with anything we needed or wanted. The entire staff at the Inn made us feel as though they were personally monitoring our happiness and I can honestly say that we have never felt more VIP than the way they made us all feel. As far as the Inn itself, it is stunning. All of our guests kept coming up to us telling us how enchanting the Inn was. The faint smell of a fireplace, the cozy surroundings in a beautiful environment. We are already planning our next weekend trip back to relax and enjoy this absolutely wonderful place. To anyone looking for a place to get married or just a weekend escape to relax, I can honestly say that you cannot make a better choice than the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe."
"My wife and I spent a night here for a quick romantic getaway and enjoyed the evening. The whole area has a very relaxed, laid-back vibe. The room, a cottage king, was large, comfortable and clean and the fireplace was a real plus. The hotel provided two duraflame logs and we also ordered the s'mores set up. Both were great. Service is generally very friendly but not super attentive (i.e. you'll have to ask for what you want, it won't always be volunteered, but once asked for it will be delivered and done so with a smile). Dinner at Morada was excellent (including the service -- thank you, Heather, for making it special). Other local restaurants (i.e. 2 minute walk from front desk), are also excellent. The grounds are very pleasant, but smallish. The pool and pool area, in particular, are not terribly large. My wife ordered champagne at the pool and it was served in a plastic cup (i.e. a disposable dixie cup, not a reusable with a stem) . . .? In general, and just to be clear given some other reviews, I would not consider this a 5 star property but I don't think it is intended or priced to be. It is very clean and comfortable but, even with recent renovations, it remains an older property with all of the charms, quirks and limitations that come with that "history". As others have noted, quirky rooms, oddly placed safes, odd bathroom layouts, some service limitations, as well as lots of peace and quiet, fire pits and comfy places to sit everywhere in the public spaces, etc. . . . it just doesn't have all of the facilities, service level, or other bells and whistles of a 5 star hotel. Still, we didn't expect that and we really enjoyed ourselves. If you're looking for action, to be pampered to point of feeling spoiled, and lots to do, this is probably not your best choice. If you're looking to slow down for a day or two or just for a quiet night, a good meal and some relaxation, it is worth a look."
"Just had a fab overnight stay at The Inn at RSF - our casita was fabulous, we loved the real fireplace and burnt one of the Fire Logs before going to bed. If staying over a weekend definitely check out the Cocktail Lab at The Huntsman Whiskey Bar (Saturday nights) with bartending whizz, Dutch House. A real highlight of the stay had to be the massage treatment I had with Christy. The spa itself is peaceful and serene the relaxation room/patio has teas, water and refreshments and a really cute 'make your bath salt' bar with dried lavender, roses, chamomile, and Epsom salts, etc. If you want to walk out with your soul feeling lighter, soothed and enlightened, Christy will work her magic on you."
