"This hotel was really good value when we booked it. I wasn’t sure about it due to some of the reviews, but quite happy that we stayed there. It was for 2 nights in a double room with a private bathroom, on a Saturday and Sunday night. We checked in around 6.30pm and our room was on the top floor up some very narrow stairs (no lift) as it’s an old coaching house. The room was a nice size, nicely decorated, opening window, good size bathroom, wardrobe, tv and tea/coffee making facilities. Downstairs is a small reception, lounge area, lovely dining room and a small bar. We wandered out for a few drinks and then we wanted food. We went back to our hotel where the shutters were coming down and told ‘the bar is shutting!’. So, off we went next door to the next bar to be told they would be finishing food at 8.30pm and not the advertised 10pm. We quickly sat down, ordered and had food. The next evening there was nobody in the hotel dining room or bar area and when we walked in, we were told it was closing! That was 5.30pm. Off we went next door to get something to eat quickly. We had breakfast both mornings and it was really good. Service was quick and there was a range of cereals, juices, etc. Overall, it was a nice stay, the only thing that needs updating is the carpets really, I thought it was fine. The outside is well maintained and there is a lovely beer garden at the back which was being swept by staff on both days. The location is right on Woburn High Street and it has a car park at the back. If the car park is busy, there is free on street parking available. This is a small village. The local store closes at 7pm and around 3pm on Sunday. The bars and restaurants just seem to close when they are quiet, so be prepared. "
"A rather spontaneous trip down south west, didn’t fancy driving another 5 hours home in the same evening. Looked online and saw this place pop up. Prices seemed very reasonable so I looked a little more, have them a call and they was able to accommodate my late arrival with no issues. Our room was 16, was really nice and tidy, I loved having our own little space. Would happily consider living in a place like that haha, breakfast was brilliant the next morning too. Didn’t spend a great deal of time there but the bed was comfortable and the shared bathroom was well maintained. Only points for feedback is to have a sign showing where rooms 14-16 are as it took a good 15 mins and a phone call (my own fault for coming so late) and the shower head falls down by itself. Hopefully will arrange a time to come back for w couple nights."
"OMG, Staying nearby and wanted good old fashioned "pub grub" that wasn't mass produced. The restaurant here certainly exceeded our expectations. Beautifully decorated in "shabby chic" style with mis-matched tables and chairs, a log burning stove and a well priced menu of our favourite dishes. All food is locally sourced and beautifully cooked to order. I had fish and chips and my partner had the Hunters chicken and both were delicious. Sweets are £5 each which is our upper limit and were well worth it. Proprietor was friendly and chatty though not intrusive and service was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely venue"
