"we checked into this hotel on the day if the evening the country was out on lockdown due to coronavirus. We had decided to go ahead with this pre booked trip as we knew we would come into contact with very few people and had visited this hotel previously but not taken our swimming gear (we had booked to stay at another hotel in the area and were sorely disappointed when we arrived) so we had promised ourselves to return. Unfortunately this time due to coronavirus once again we were unable to use the spa facilities and the restaurant was closed so all food and drink was room service only but the hotel gave us a very friendly welcome and upgraded us to the Luxury Suite which we were very thankful for. We only left the room to have a very relaxing walk along the beach keeping well away from everyone else. This hotel is beautiful and who knows maybe when all this is over we might get 3rd time lucky and get to use the pool and spa"
"For years I have wanted to stay at the Quay Hotel in one of the balcony rooms overlooking the estuary and Castell Conwy. In August this year I booked ‘an executive deluxe room’ described on the website as having ‘stunning vistas of Conwy Castle across the Conwy estuary’. Upon arrival, we were allocated room 275. Firstly I noted how small the room was - not my normal expectation of ‘an executive deluxe double’. But the huge disappointment was that there was absolutely no ‘stunning vista of Conwy Castle’. The room is on the ground floor, in an annex set back from the main block - this cuts out any view of the Castle. Also, looking at the fire escape plan, it is far smaller than any of the other similar rooms on the floor. I don’t understand how it can be designated in the same ‘executive deluxe’ category. The hotel was full, so the only alternative was room 247. We accepted it because it is a large room, but no way is it ‘an executive deluxe room’. For example, the espresso coffee maker in room 275 was replaced with a simple kettle in 247. The décor and furnishings are gloomy, dated and tired, there are stains on the upholstery (not reassuring in times of Covid), a bedside lamp was hanging off its bracket, and the view of Conwy Castle can only be ‘enjoyed’ by peering through poky triangular windows. I was devastated that we ended up with this. The food in the restaurant was good but my stay was ruined. I feel that we have been grossly short-changed – we were allocated the worst room within the category despite having booked the ‘luxury wine and dine package’ as well. What more does one have to do to get the room they actually paid for? My husband and I are in our 70s so it is not so easy to ‘write off’ these special moments as something we can easily repeat in the future. Our window of opportunity is no longer that big. And to make things worse, I have emailed and phoned the hotel 3 times to explain my disappointment. I have had no response at all."
"Me and my friend stayed here last week on my birthday, We arrived really late but still check in was easy and welcoming, We then went into the bar for a few drinks the staff Emily and Ryan were really nice and helpful with our indecisive gin drinking! Definitely a credit to this hotel and made us feel really welcome at such a late hour, The room was fab and the breakfast great..definitely worth a visit."

"We stayed for one night only. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room (8) was an odd shape and quite dark, no view as such but that wasn’t an issue. It was really cold, the fan on the air conditioning was really noisy so ears plugs came in handy. This Premier is in a lovely area of Llandudno but you will need to drive or taxi into the town. As per other comments the restaurant and bar areas are long over due a refurbishment. Due to dreadful weather conditions the Hotel lost electricity and was unable to serve our pre booked breakfast. Not an issue but Pam on reception could not have been more helpful, suggested we go along to a Premier Inn based in Glan Conwy, phoned ahead for us and problem solved. Great service!"
"Plus points- Comfortable bed, spacious rooms, basic but clean. Great sea views and views of The Little Orme from our room. Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Room downstairs with disabled access and amenities excellent. Great value for money. Overall a very enjoyable visit. Minus points- Not enough milk or tea in room on arrival. Hotel needs updating. No lift. Restaurant - food awful, restaurant dirty, tables sticky, requires updating. Staff not very helpful. Ate here once- and didn’t go back."
"We chose this hotel for its lovely out of town setting. However, we were disappointed to have been booked into a room at the back of the hotel that was very dark and dingy and needed the light on even when the sun was shining outside. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable but it was a shame we had to use our towels three days on the run with nowhere to dry them. We found the food in the restaurant ok and were pleased with the breakfast. I would recommend anyone wishing to stay in this hotel to ask for a room at the front of the hotel as it would have made our stay a lot more enjoyable if we had been given a room at the front."

"We stayed at this Hotel in February for the Lions Charter Dinner. It was held in one of the Function Rooms. Could not fault the service or the food as over 130 people sat down that evening, You were able to order wine before the meal and this helped the staff. Overall a very good enjoyable evening, .The Hotel itself is spotlessly clean and staff are very helpful. We had a basic rear facing room which was adequate for our needs with a lovely large bathroom. Only comment I would make is there were no drawers in the room. Plenty of shelves and coathangers in the wardrobe. Only stayed 3 nights so not a problem. Due to the recent media coverage on Coronavirus we had expected to see handgel everywhere but not so. The Hotel is siutate right on the sea front with lovely views. As this was the Lions weekend lots of people stayed overnight a d breakfast was in different venues each day. Not a problem as signs showing you the way and they coped very well. Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice. I would probably stay here again but expected a little bit more for a 4*. Only basic teabags and coffee sachets in the room. Overall a lovely weekend. Cannot comment on evening meals as we were just bed a d breakfast. ."
"I had wanted to stay over at the St George's Hotel for a long time and the wait was well worth it. This hotel, the welcoming staff and the extremely well organised Co-vid measures in place were more than excellent and better than I had wished for. We stayed in Rooftop corner Room 419 and it was amazing, a stunning suite with panoramic views of the bay and the Ormes. The slightly inclement weather did not stop us from sitting out on our lovely balcony and watching the world go by and enjoying the views. It was so nice that we really didn't want to leave it and so had room service for dinner which was also excellent. A wonderful night's sleep in the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in followed by a fabulous full Welsh breakfast and sadly it was time to leave. Thank you so much Mr Burns, Lucy and all the staff for such a special stay at your lovely hotel and I look forward to returning very soon."
"Well......yet another hotel blaming poor service on the corvid...and weekend only opening..... Check in.........we were handed the pen to sign in that the receptionist used....????????? I have recently stayed in many hotels....the best of treating customers to a full service being Holiday Inn Express and at half the price of this hotel. Food choice was awful, so we went out for a meal on both nights. Very noisy with bus trippers???? Always thought and led to believe this was one of the best in Llandudno, bordering on rude staff and no room servicing, but no reduction on price? Weekends only opening to reap once again the benefits of corvid. Second morning at breakfast they took a full half an hour to be served...then trying the best to get us out so they could close until next weekend. Can you get cheaper bread for morning toast...I dont think so! Also.......best to keep breakfast comments that waitresses were saying to each other behind closed doors....like....."Feeding the animals is over for another morning" On checkout we stated our concerns....and was met with shrugged shoulders ....... Sorry......Never again."

"I have traveled around the world and stayed in many hotels, but I have never expected to find such an amazing hotel and staff. From the moment we stepped in we were welcomed with a warm attitude. The room and bathroom were very clean and you have everything you need from toiletries to coffee, water and biscuits, which by the way are refilled every day. Martin, the owner, is a very sweet person and very helpful. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, served with local products like milk, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. The lady who served us every morning is very sweet and professional. I was planning already my next visit when I was checking out . Loved the hotel, the staff and Llandudno! Can’t wait to come back !"

"I had a brilliant stay at Hen-Dy over the weekend. Firstly, everything was spotless and there is plenty of hand sanitiser and cleaning products dotted around for peace of mind. Ian and Tracey were able to organise parking for me which was much appreciated, I would recommend organising this a week or so prior to your trip to guarantee a spot, there are only a few available. My room (5) was spotless, with plenty of large towels, tea and coffee facilities and a great shower! It was spacious and well furnished. You can see all rooms on the Hen Dy website so you're able to pick which is best suited for you, there are options for sea views or rear mountain views. Breakfast in the morning was perfect, a brilliant selection and even some vegan options available. The lounge is a lovely place to sit and look out onto the beach, pier and promenade, featuring a well-stocked honesty bar. In sunny weather, the patio out the front would be a beautiful place to sit. Overall, a perfect stay, made even better with the fantastic service provided by Ian and Tracey who make you feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend!"
"Myself my partner and our 12 year old son stayed here for a 2 night getaway. And I have to say what a lovely little find this was! Having recently stayed at a hotel in llandudno not too far away, it was ok. But I feel like this place for us was perfect! The room was as seen in the photos online. It had such a lovely homely feel to it. At reception was a bell to press if you needed any assistance which I pressed once and tracey came to me straight away, lovely lady and so helpful. Me and my partner have already decided when we next visit llandudno we are definitely booking a room here. Well done Tracey & Ian you have created a beautiful warm and welcoming atmosphere. We can't wait to return xx "
"I’ve recently returned from a short mid week break at the Hen-Dy hotel and will definitely return again. The hotel has a good position facing the sea and we were able to park outside the hotel. The hosts were happy to accommodate any requests we had and our family room was perfect for us. Breakfast was delicious and we genuine had a lovely time. This is a nice hotel and very reasonable prices so well worth a return visit."

"My friend and have just been on a coach trip for 5 days 4 nights to this hotel. When we arrived we had a cup of tea where we were welcomed by the manager and his staff and given our respective keys. The luggage was brought up to our room, which we were grateful for. The bedroom was fine, tea making facilities, very clean bedding and a nice bathrom. The food, breakfasts and evening meals were plentiful, freshly cooked and delicious with very kind and attentive waiting staff. The bar was good, 2 for 1 drinks from 6 to 9pm and the evening entertainment was great with singers and a comedian. We had a couple of excursions, which we enjoyed and the coach driver and the rest of the people on the coach were very friendly. I love Llandudno and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for an enjoyable trip and to all the staff at the hotel. We enjoyed ourselves."
"We had booked and paid with UK breakaways at this so called pet friendly hotel, we arrived desperately needing this break, they then said that they did not know we were bringing our small dog , i had told UK breakaways and also telephoned the hotel prior to inform them and was told the price for my dog which i offered to payover the phone and they refused telling me to pay on arrival. They did not have a room ready as they forgot about the dog, then they told us that dinner was at 7pm , you could not leve the dog unattended in the room which is understandable, but neither could you take him in the restaurant which is also understandable but they would not accomodate us by having a table set elsewhere so it meant that even though we had paid for half board only 1 of us would be able to eat at the set meal time, the man and lady at reception were very rude and i asked for seperate meal times and was told the 6pm is for our coach tour customers so that was a no as the coach tour customers come first. We had no choice but to leave as we both have health conditions and needed to eat but 1 would have to go without, i was in ters all the way home and still upset now as we paid for a break that we did not have . Any issues healthwise or otherwise please choose a different hotel."
"We had a good time at Chatsworth. The room and all areas was lovey and clean. The entertainment was good. The food was fair. Found some of the restaurant staff was a bit slow and confused at times. We travelled with Majestic in which was very good had trips each day."

Tyn y Groes, Conwy, United Kingdom
"My partner and I stayed at The Groes Inn for two nights in mid September. We had room no. 8 which was on the first floor, overlooking the field to the rear. The hotel is in such a beautiful location, it was a treat to wake up to cows outside your window. The room was well appointed and the bed incredibly comfortable. The loss of the 5 star rating is because the room was a little bit dusty around the plug sockets and lamps and the bathroom could do with a spruce up. We also had a few issues in the restaurant. We had 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals here. Not once was our order 100% correct or as stated on the menu. Either something missing or replaced with an alternative. We did mention it to the staff on one occasion who were incredibly helpful. The food we did receive was delicious, we adapted to the menu inconsistencies and started to treat mealtimes as a bit of surprise. On the whole the hotel and restaurant is lovely, I miss sitting in the beer garden with a glass on wine and watching the wildlife. We hope to return."
"We had an evening meal here, the surroundings were very nice, we eat in the conservatory with the grape vine. Meals were 2 courses for £16.95, I had the prawn and salmon starter, and have to say that was a meal in itself, so much salmon, couldn't finish my main, which was pea ravioli, which was a bit stodgy, but everyone else had the sunday roast and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've given it 5 stars ( nearly got a 4 thanks to the ravioli ) because of the service and my friend has special dietry needs and they accommodated him with no fuss."
"We stayed at the Groes Inn last Saturday night. We had a lovely room with a patio overlooking fields and hills. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and the two gentlemen in particular, didn’t catch their names, were so affable they made our stay that little bit special. Both dinner and breakfast were very good and plentiful and service was spot on. Staff were extremely Covid aware and there were many precautions in place. We felt very safe. All in all, a lovely stay - we’ll be back. "

"Just had two comfortable nights with our two golden retrievers. Hotel is basic, but clean and just right for dogs, as it's not too posh. Room right at the top was spacious with ensuite and lovely views overlooking Llandudno and the sea. Literally straight out the door onto grass and paths up the Great Orme ideal for the dogs. Parking not brilliant, but we were fortunate to park opposite and as it is the end of a no through road it was fine. Breakfast was good well cooked and hot good choice of traditional food. Cable cars literally 5 min walk, go through country park to ski slope and Tobagon run, plus playground. Really would recommend it if you have dogs, but if you're not good with stairs ask for a ground floor room, although it is a beautiful staircase just a little bit hard on the knees. Would certainly stay there again."
"Stayed here for our 20th anniversary and was made most welcome. The rooms were a decent size and clean and tidy. The view from our room was amazing but when we went to the restaurant and sitting areas it was WOW you could see the whole of llandudno and as far out to sea as you can. Friendly people who would do anything for you. We will definitely go back "
"What a lovely old hotel ..breakfast very good ..lots of choice ..even continental style .....hotel is at the top of a very steep hill so if you have mobility issues then dont go here .....we had room 32 ..nice seaview ..but beware of the two steps one down into the room and one up into the bathroom ..overall a lovely stay ....."
