Glenlo Abbey is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. Beautiful olde worlde atmosphere...open fires and inviting lounges. Excellent food and efficient friendly staff....could not find fault in any aspect! Lovely 9 hole golf course on site run by pro Gary. He is very welcoming as are his staff and I would highly recommend a round on this well kept and interesting course. Overall....a wonderful hotel with top class staff. No hesitation in recommending this most lovely establishment to all my friends.! A little gem on the wild atlantic way!

We had been to a family christening at Tully Cross where we had spent two nights. Having stopped and had lunch in Galway a few months before the outbreak of covid we had decided that we would like to have a stop over the next time we passed through and as we were to pick up and later drop off a hire car it was ideal. We made the booking at the Skeffington Arms online a couple of months before. From arriving on the Monday to leaving on the Wednesday we were made to feel very welcome. The location was ideal for us being very central and within walking distance of the coach station for our return journey to Dublin Airport. Our room was a very good size and with the weather we were experiencing the air conditioning in our was most welcome. From our arrival to our departure the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We would have liked to have stayed longer but due to work commitments this wasn't possible. What a lovely location, a gorgeous hotel and the swimming pool was great with the added bonus of an outside hot tub overlooking the sea. My room was 631 with a large king bed, desks, adequate bathroom with bath and shower, seats with table, desk and TV and all the usual facilities in a hotel room. No sockets by the bed though which is something all hotels need to have now but that was the only criticism of the room. Staff where lovely, helpful and friendly although I give 4 stars as check-in didnt happen for 10 minutes due to no staff being at the reception, no idea why but it got sorted OK. The hotel is clean, the room was clean, well presented and very welcoming. I had breakfast which was the normal cooked breakfast buffet, toasts, pancakes, breads, cereals, tea or coffee, juices with plenty of seating options and a view of the sea. The staff were great, the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed. The view gives you a great start to the day. I used the pool which was great. Some families there with kids, a swimming lane, working steam room, sauna and heated jacuzzi. The outside hottub is amazing. It is a must do at this hotel. It was raiing on my stay so the outside tennis court and kids play area werent being used but its worth a mention that they have these. Location feels remote but its only 5-10 minutes from Salthill and Galway by car. There is a petrol station beside the hotel on the main road and a small village. I guess you access the hotel by car, taxi or bus.

Had an amazing 2 day stay with my mom. We come up every few months, and this will defo be our new place to stay. We absolutely loved it, beautiful views from the sea view rooms and really good breastfast. Hotel didn’t feel overly busy and staff very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait for our next stay in July😊
