"We stayed at the Hotel Trundle during Restaurant Week and the Van Gogh exhibit at the Columbia Art Museum. The hotel was well- maintained and artfully and uniquely decorated. We stayed in the Old Loading Dock room. It is a king suite with contemporary decor. The room does not offer much light(We were told this at booking), but it is a great place to get a good night’s sleep, and it is spacious. The exposed brick added charm and character. Usually,, we stay at inns and b&bs with antique decor. This was a nice change. The best thing about the experience was the staff. They were pleasant, and VERY flexible and accommodating, with a good working knowledge of local restaurants. A great experience! Typically, we don’t stay in the same hotel twice, regardless of how good the experience is for us. (We Ike to try new places.) However, if there is another event in Columbia that we would like to attend(and I am sure there will be!), we will consider staying there again!"
"I love when old places are reimagined into new ones. The Trundle fits the bill by maintaining some of the old charm with exposed ceilings and brick, yet at the same time injecting some modern touches, quirky decor, and comfortable furnishings. We stayed in a suite, which sounds a bit more grand that it actually was, but the lodgings suited us perfectly. Loved the huge tiled bathroom with separate shower and the super comfy king bed. Service was gracious and kind. The continental breakfast looked several notches above the standard fare you get at chains, but we did not eat here as we were looking for a more hearty meal to start our day. Only downside was the view. There wasn’t any unless you classify an alleyway as something to look at. This made the suite a bit dark as one couldn’t take advantage of the natural light emitted by the sun. As others mentioned, this property is centrally located and is a breeze to get in and out of the hotel with a car. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back."
"I wish we could've stayed a week. It is such a unique & interesting boutique hotel. If we ever have the opportunity or need to travel back to Columbia Trundle will be our first pick. It was all the little touches. The welcome beverage, the evening snacks and drinks. The breakfast is very light but it got us on the road quickly. THE BEDS - super comfortable!! The pillows were so amazing I ordered some for our home!"
