"It is only over one kilometer away from the 05 version of "Pride and Prejudice". Walking along the path, the scenery is excellent. The hotel is clean and tidy, and there is a country pub downstairs with Western food. It is much cheaper than the nearby Cavendish Hotel."
"Cross the village from behind the hotel and walk to the beautiful Darcy Manor in 10 minutes. Breakfast is buffet and order. The taste is not bad. Most of the occupants are old people. Did not see the child."
"The hotel is very good, the location environment service and so on, everything is perfect, ten minutes drive from Darcy Manor, the hotel is free to park, the restaurant's steak is super delicious!"

"We escaped to the Devonshire Arms having had our main holiday cancelled and what a treat it was. Five stars all the way for this delightful pub with superbly finished rooms. The rooms all have a superb bathroom with a high pressure shower and really high quality fitments. The beds are supremely comfortable and all rooms have a fresh coffee machines with fresh milk in the fridge. You really don't want to leave. Downstairs the pub is delightful. Wonderful food with attentive staff and a real ale selection to more than tick the box of 'proper pub'! We particularly liked the hot bar snacks such as the chicken wings and Mozzarella sticks. It was also clear these guys had really gone the extra mile to set people at ease over COVID restrictions. The location is also superb with a wonderful view out over the fields which are perfect for a Sunday walk. Quite simply, AMAZING!"
"Stayed here for three nights , lovely rooms, light and airy and very clean. The restaurant was a delight we had a DB&B deal, good choice of dishes and all well cooked and presented, by the chef . What makes it stand out is the staff, all very friendly and attentive, nothing to much trouble. The team is a credit to the owners , who obviously know how to keep customers and staff happy. In a good position for exploring the Peak District National Park/Chatsworth etc Would highly recommend."
"Thank you for making our stay a very pleasant and welcoming one. We were greeted at the bar on our arrival and take to our beautiful room. The decor throughout is tastefully done. We stayed for breakfast and evening meal, the food is faultless. I can not recommend this place enough. A shout out to the amazing staff and especially Norma who was lovely at breakfast and although run off her feet did a brilliant job!! THANK YOU."

"The graduation ceremony was decided. The location of the hotel is actually very good. It is next to the winter garden. There are many delicious restaurants near the hotel, such as smoke bbq, cosmo and so on. Far, but fortunately not far from tram station can take a car. The room in this hotel is really big, but the facilities are really kneeling. What is the big problem in strength acting? Do not make small problems constantly. At first, the heating of the room was not hot and I changed a room. When people come to repair, the sink sinks water is also very slow, the lighting in the room is a bit dark, and the heating is generally not very hot. Overall it's ok, the price is a little bit low, but the hotels in Sheffield are not many in general, it's ok"
"It is a modern hotel in the UK. The hotel is in a good location. The city center is 10 minutes walk from the train station. The room space is big in the UK. It is very bright, the toilet lid is broken, the bed is wet, and it doesn't sleep. Great comfort, the pillows are too soft, the hotel pool is good, the overall feeling is OK"
"Breakfast is satisfactory, English breakfast here is rich, long time and good service. The location is excellent, the scenery is beautiful and quiet, the place to go is convenient, the rooms are large and very clean"

"Whitley hall has shown us fantastic customer service last night, nothing was too much trouble for them. We arrived in our campervan to collect a takeaway meal, the meal was delivered to our van piping hot, they didnt have the gluten free options but they gave us many alternatives that was nice, they even gave us a free gluten free brownie! On the house ..very kind gesture..we were ready to go only to find that our campervan wouldn't start !! RAC was called, they said 3.5hr wait ! Wow,.we ate our meal in the camper, the meal was lovely and the beer for 1p a pint was delicious too ( only one of us was drinking) ..I messaged Whitley hall and asked if they had any jump leads available..Whitley hall to the rescue!.they kindly came out and jump started our van ..off we went 5min later.Top service from Whitley hall,in both food quality and customer service! Thankyou. We can highly recommend and will hopefully return at Christmas..Lynne and Lydia"
"Booked a stay here last minute due to being not far from where I live. My first visit to this hotel an definitely won’t be my last. Upon arrival i had already checked in online due to Covid, so I just had to collect my key. The lady on reception was very polite and friendly gave me my sterilised key. I had the peacock suite a beautiful traditional room that has a new jacuzzi bath fitted. My stay was very pleasant I wish i could have had more time here the hotel is a beautiful old hall with lots of character. The food an bar service were very good an felt very well organised due to Covid procedures in place. All the staff were polite and friendly. I can’t wait to return when allowed to."

"Firstly, if this review was just for our evening meal it would have been 5 stars. The food was amazing, service was great, the menu is quite small but what Is on there is done very well. Great upper end pub food. Nice selection of ales, wines, gins etc. The B&B side of it although really good was lacking in one or two places. On arrival the barman was really helpful and nice and showed us to our room and couldn’t have been more helpful. The narrow corridor leading to our room looked a bit tatty and could do with a lick of paint but the room itself was lovely. Bed very comfortable, nice and warm, clean and plenty of room. Shower room was nice too, modern clean and plenty of room. The only thing that let it down were a few minor things, the bed was incredibly creaky. It made it very difficult to sleep in. I even had a go at fixing it myself! The hot water mixer on the shower didn’t do anything and the water was just very hot all of the time. Breakfast looked great, I only had toast and scrambled eggs so can’t really comment on the rest but it looked good. All in all a very nice stay and would definitely stay again when walking in the area. Maybe summer next time as the beer garden looks great. "
"Held my recent birthday party at the Moon Inn and I thank Joy her staff for their warm hospitality in accommodating my family and friends (and one well behaved Jack Russell) for the weekend. It was a large party to cater for over two nights and I appreciate the hard work undertaken by the chef and staff in preparing the delicious meals we ate. The Moon Inn is a lovely welcoming place to stay, with a fascinating history. I thoroughly recommend a visit ."
"After a lovely morning walk with our over active (and somewhat mucky) springer. We were all welcomed with open arms including the messy mutt. We were invited to sit anywhere and our hosts were not put off by the state of our dog. Enjoyed a fantastic pint and some brilliant lunchtime fare. All of the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this and will definitely be visiting again."

"The hotel is superb. I booked two super nice restaurants for my friends and myself. The restaurants are also white and very romantic, with small and artistic rooms. The bathrooms are very large. The staying experience is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Live"

"The English breakfast is great, but you need to add extra money. Can you not have an extra bed? The interior of the building is a small square with some musical performances, as well as bars and restaurants. Opposite is a commercial plaza, but the location is still very close to the city center, and the church is also very close."
"The location is excellent, and the old hotel is full of charm. We were arranged on the top floor with a palm-sized skylight, but I saw that the price we gave was not low. It's a pity that those steps are very hard to move boxes and no one helps. The younger brother is only responsible for Meimei."
"Good things must be shared, although foreign hotels are not very luxurious and very relaxed, winning the service, sanitation, and environment in this hotel are very good, you will definitely choose to get off the bus."

"The hotel is on the road, it is better to find, there is a parking factory, free parking. There are no other facilities around. No car can basically live. There are no stairs up and down the stairs, and luggage is taken. Low cost performance"

"Having stayed at Tankersley in the past I didn’t hesitate to book in for my husbands birthday, however we had been left very disappointed and disheartened. We booked on a special deal and upgraded to a suite with wine. Upon checking in we found that the bedroom was dirty, the bathroom had not been cleaned and the floor needed a Hoover. The very kind receptionist gave us free coffee whilst the room was cleaned and arranged for the wine to be put in the room that was missing. The room it’s self was very poor. The windows need repairing and were letting in a breeze, the bedroom window had parts falling off of it. The carpet was horrible and in desperate need of a steam clean, the bathroom ceiling had a hole in it. Not the usual high standards you would expect from Tankersley. We went to dinner having stayed before and expected the same high standards again. However the food was nothing special and looked like something you would be served in whetherspoons. My steak was chucked on the plate, there was no presentation at all. I was also served a drink with a very drunk fly in it. I appreciate that we have Covid and things are tough but that is no excuse to let standards slip, if anything standards should be higher during this time. The breakfast grab bag was horrible and we ended up leaving it. I can not understand having stayed at a different hotel who is also part of the same chain how standards can be completely different. The other hotel prepared you a freshly made hot sandwich and gave you access to a coffee machine to help your self, at Tankersley you however get a microwave sandwich and a barely warm cup of coffee. Horrible I do hope this was just an off day and that if we stay in the future things will be back to the normal high quality standards. I had one very disappointed husband since we had been looking forward to this for a while. I have emailed the hotel manager but not had a reply"
"I recently held a business meeting at Tankersley Manor, there were 12 of us. The room was lovely and quiet and warm! The staff were incredibly accommodating as we changed a few things last minute. Our food was fabulous, no waiting, no issues... this is rare for me! We had a fabulous evening, I can’t recommend Tankersley more. Thank you for a lovely evening. "
"This was my second visit on a spa nights stay. It comes with treatments, use of spa facilities, lunch, evening meal and breakfast and overnight stay all for £129 per person. Great value for money and the food was beautiful at every serving. Special mention to Mohammed who looked after us so well at lunch and took time to chat with us. Will be coming back"

"We booked this hotel last minute over half term and decided to visit a few places in the area. This hotel is hidden away just over 10 minutes from Chesterfield and the first thing you’ll notice after checking in is the unrivalled views from the bedrooms, a lovely escape from city hotels we would usually stay in. The reception and checking in experience was great, a friendly team and useful information given. There is some building work on site which has been mentioned by other reviewers but don’t let it put you off, we didn’t hear anything through our stay. The room itself was particularly large for a standard double, good size wall mounted flatscreen TV, the largest bed we’ve ever had in a hotel (Emperor, around 2m in width) and as already mentioned, great views over the hotel grounds and surrounding peaks. We were disappointed with the bathroom on two counts; the bath, which was lovely, took just over 35 minutes to fill, not what you want when trying to relax and unwind, this needs looking into, either the water pressure or the taps themselves, and secondly the shower, goes all over the whole bathroom floor when attempting any kind of shower, it’s completely open to the rest of the room. Bluetooth mirror was a nice touch. We had breakfast the next morning in the Red Lion which is the hotels restaurant and this was excellent. Service was fast, hot pastries, well presented restaurant quality food all around - absolutely no complaints here. We will definitely be back here, and whilst there was nothing wrong with our room overall, we would choose a different one, perhaps a suite next time - they look beautiful. One tip for upcoming travellers - check prices around. On each of the nights we looked into, not once was the hotel website the best price, the third party sites undercut by in excess of £10 every time we looked."
"We booked in for one night but liked it so much we booked an extra night - we arrived in Chesterfield by train so didn't have a vehicle but it was easy to get a cab to and from the station, and into Chesterfield to look round (lovely outdoor market and good bar at the Bottle & Thyme). This hotel is gorgeous - wonderfully decorated in every nook and cranny, so even though the decor is varied it all ties in together and creates a lovely harmonious space. We ate in the hotel both nights and had great food each time. One night was very busy so the wait was a bit longer, but the staff explained and apologised and didn't leave us wondering - and we were happy enjoying the surroundings and some lovely wine. When we went in the bar the barman knew about the drinks and even managed to track down something we wanted which wasn't behind the bar. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed - great bed, fresh towels and bathroom supplies, tea/coffee/biscuits/bottled water. The room - and every area of the hotel we saw - was spotlessly clean. The staff were, without exception, very responsive and efficient - I can't recommend the hotel highly enough. We'll definitely be back when we can spend longer there."
"Ive just returned from my second stay at Peak Edge. It felt like home returning to the Hotel:) From entering and seeing & (hearing :) the excellent reception team. The food in restaurant is wonderful (my three guests over two nights dinner loved it ! ). The service from Jamie the two Toms, Adam and the new lady who started on my second day were all perfect. “Nothing” during my stay was a problem even thou my sister says “i” am a problem most of the time. The lovely Bri helped me pack my suitcase and helped me load my car up to leave. Im going back !!!"
