It's a review of two half's. The hotel was great, well maintained and clean. The staff were always friendly. The room had a bit of a noise to it like a motor running which was slightly annoying at night, but not horrendous. Getting out of the shower did feel a bit dangerous as there was nothing to grip and the shower screen moved alot. The restaurant staff were friendly and the food was great, although no decafe tea on offer which was a little let down. The spa facilities are what let's the stay down, the pool & facilities are small, crowded and not the cleanest I've seen. Also incredibly frustrating that you have to leave the hotel and cross the car park to get to the facilities. The spa treatments we had are possibly the worst we've ever had and would not recommend. (I felt like I had annoyed this lady in a past life and she was taking it out on my back!!) I would stay at the hotel again, it was an easy park and ride to the center of Birmingham and the hotel was clean and tidy overall.

Tidy and clean in hotel, good facilities in swimming pool with spa and sauna. Free parking when you stay.

Great place to stay. The staff are polite and will go through lengths to talk to you and sort out any issue you may of had, the food is top tier and the rooms are well kept and a nice touch with the flat screen tv and the bed was beyond comfortable

Wonderful hotel. A couple from Israel - staying 4 nights in this lovely hotel. EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Clean room, superb breakfast, friendly staff members, location (adjacent to the tram line) and close to a supermarket and the fascinating Jewelery Quarter. The hotel does the utmost efforts to please its customers.

Would stay again for ease as it is close enough to city centre Access to the building is done via the link sent to you through email. Bathroom is a wet room which was okay. There’s also no wardrobes in the room and it is quite compact. Ideal for a one night trip.

If I could give this hotel a zero I would. From start to finish this was definitely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, in my whole life! A few days before arriving I called the hotel reception and asked if there was any chain on the room door and I was told there was, however when I arrived there was not. Once I arrived into my room I was deeply disappointed the cleaner had put on the bed sheet pillow cases the wrong way round. The sofa in my bedroom had white stains all over it and when I spoke to reception regarding this matter I was told to simply just put a towel down or not sit on it at all. Then I went to the bathroom where I washed and dried my hands to look down onto the towel and see what I can only explain it was hard dry faeces all over the towel which looked like it had been there a while. There were hairs over the bed and the sink was cracked so I can only imagine how many germs were in there. The cleanliness of this hotel was no more than a zero! The room itself was completely filthy and unacceptable for a customer to stay in, let alone pay for. Regarding the matters above I called reception on the phone in the room and was demanded by the receptionist Katie to go downstairs myself even though I wanted her to come upstairs and inspect the room also they're ment to be offering me a service. - Finally she agreed to come upstairs however after 30 minutes still had not arrived so I took the liberty to go down myself however when I arrived she gave me the excuse of being too busy to come to the room but the bar area only had two people in who had full drinks and Katie was just standing around talking to her colleagues. I then cancelled my next two nights because she was extremely rude and disrespectful to me and even raised her voice. I've stayed in many hotels across the world and never in my life have I met a member of staff so rude her customer services was appalling. Also when I was standing at reception she had her back to me facing the other way like she couldn't be bothered to deal with me. After all of these issues I was not even offered another room and no one apologised about the state of my room or the service I received. I will never in my life stay in another holiday inn and I will be expecting a FULL refund on my stay there. On a positive I did speak to Jackie when I checked in who was a lovely lady and another staff member Jordan in the lift who was also very nice. Although they wasn't able to help at all I appreciated their kindness. Also when I asked when a manager will be in Katie snapped telling me she was the manger? If that is the case I highly recommend management look into this or send her on some training courses because I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and disrespected by Katie.
