Another fantastic 3-day stay at this hotel. We had a beautiful spacious room with bath and shower. Not to note. Seif and refrigerator on the room. Here are extensive breakfast buffet with super delicious bread. Beautiful cottage. It was a pity that there were flying above the beautiful fresh bread pottery. The culinary dinner was decoratively served and tasted excellently. The staff was well played and super friendly. And the controller is very careful so you don't have to wait for a drink.

Spent a week at the Johanneshoeve. And what a beautiful experience! Great room and nice play area outside for our daughter of 1.5. The Schipper family is very hospitable, helpful and friendly. We felt at home. Enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Great hiking in the area. And a nice experience to visit the dairy farmer. Recommended!

Wat een geweldige B&B annex hotel mooie kamer met grote badkamer alles zeer ruim. Koelkastje en koffie en thee apparaten. Diner was heerlijk en ontbijt zalig en ruim voldoende. Een grote mand met veel producten. Volgende keer blijven we langer. De eigenaren zijn ook zeer vriendelijk echt een aanrader

What a nice quiet location for a pleasant stay is this. We have been there 2 days. The hospitality/hospitality of the staff really welcomed us warmly and during our stay. On the site we received a carefully compiled information package on walking/cycling routes in the surrounding area, which is really a recommendation for the Twent country with historic sites or surroundings. The restaurant is also a very friendly restaurant with a very beautiful wine card! If you want to enjoy a little bit of aperitif before or after the dinner, it can be in the nice but pleasant bar of the hotel. The stay in the room is fantastic! Quiet, spacious, beautiful shower and good beds. We are equipped and then follows a fair breakfast with Twickel cheese, which I had never eaten. But we know that we will certainly come back.

Culinary enjoy! We were with his four from Friday 4/8 to Sunday 6/8 in Carelshaven. On Friday a 5-fold dinner, extended with a cheese plate and a good port. On Saturday, a 4-fold dinner again extended with a cheeseboard and a port. What we enjoyed on both days. Every pleasure and dishes were a party! What a taste sensation! Perfect wines with it (wein arrangement). The service was top and very friendly. We were really put in the waters. The dishes were certainly “stereal”. Breakfast was also a party. The rooms were well-cared and good beds and kiss. The room was also a luxury coffee and bathroom, and we were here for the t**** time and were also happy to come back for the third time. We also enjoyed the surroundings and walks around the property Twickel.

The hotel is a bit old, but the whole is very clean. The breakfast is very rich and never hurts passengers. Especially the outdoor environment is very comfortable.
The waiter was also very polite.
The hotel is about 3 kilometers from the Cologne Pavilion and about 15 minutes by Uber. Or walk 5 minutes to the nearby light rail station, which is quite convenient.

Customer service not good. I called reception to ask for an iron as there wasn’t one in my room and was told I could come and get one from reception if i wanted one - very typical ‘Dutch customer service’! No shampoo, conditioner, body lotion in my room, only soap. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.

Reviews From Real Travelers
A catalogue of inhospitability, avarice, rudeness and ineptitude or lack of proper training summarises this horrible hotel. Arriving after ten o’clock in the evening, I found the door of the hotel closed and rang the front doorbell several times to no effect. Only after walking through the freezing rain to the back of the hotel and knocking on the windows, did I manage to raise somebody’s attention to let me in. The staff explained to me that they had shut down the front door bell, but yes, they were expecting me(?!). However, arriving “so late”, I was required to pay 50 euros to the night porter, which I flatly refused to do. I paid for my room and breakfast and climbed the stairs to the fourth floor. My room was tiny and stone cold: all three windows were wide open at 3 degrees Celsius, the heating off. No luggage rack, not even a hook in the wall for my dripping coat and umbrella, no desk, no toiletries, no light in the pitiful shower. No amenities whatsoever but for a tiny hairdryer and a tiny clothes cupboard that couldn’t fit a long coat. The windows were too high to afford the least view. The next morning, being the only person in the breakfast room, I had to go through several plates, glasses and cutlery to find myself clean ones without grease or melted cheese clinging to them. A staff member eventually approached me and demanded to know what my room number was, she couldn’t even be bothered to say good morning! While checking out, I complained about the above and the same staff member offered to pay me a refund of an unspecified amount. I thought in fairness to wait with writing my review until after this was paid, this offer being the only positive experience worth mentioning; but after four days I haven’t received a penny yet even though we have the same bank and payments go through almost instantaneously. To conclude: a horrible hotel with zero stars. I was informed by the staff that the proprietor doesn’t want to pay for the star system - I wonder why?

Very nice room, very good young staff, they had always a smile on there face. Impressive building and clean. This hotel is directly in the center of the town, close to restaurants, bars and the theater. On Saturday there is a beautiful market.
