Very Smart Hotel in a converted Mill with a lot of the original features still in place. We had a nice large accessible room on the third floor. One nice feature war that there were 2 washbasins at different heights for both a wheelchair user and an able user. Reception staff were very welcoming. The hotel was about 15 minutes walk from the railway station - through the pedestrian precinct - so not a problem

Excellent Stay as always. Rooms very clean and comfortable, great food, staff very professional and friendly, spa well equipped, good pool, steam room. Close to amenity's, restaurant's, shopping and bars. Great break overall.

Feeling the quilt is a bit thin, the front desk enthusiastically found a thick quilt, and the service was good. The hotel is located in the city center, and it is easy to travel by bus \ train / walk.

We had the misfortune of using this hotel for a funeral tea. On arrival the lady at reception was too busy to look up from her computer to greet us. When she finished what she was doing, she then acknowledged the fact that I was there. We had dirty cups on the table. When this was mentioned to the staff, they argued with us about how the cups were stained rather than dirty. They couldn’t argue about the cups that were chipped. Then it came to settling the bill. They issued the invoice without payment details. I had to ask for payment details which they failed to provide correctly. This resulted in the cheque being made out to the wrong company and has created much more work for us a family at a very difficult time. To top it all - they were then aggressively chasing us for the bill when they were fully aware we were in the bank the very same afternoon of the funeral settling the account. I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances but I would recommend a review of procedures and staff training on customer service.
